The second book in the Blame It On New York series it is of best friends to lovers story. Zoe Mathison and Eric Morgan are friends and she does not see what is right in front of her face that he is the man for her.I enjoyed seeing this story come together. I received a copy through Hidden Gems and I am voluntarily reviewing.

This book was strange because it felt a little dated (there was a fax machine), and the characters weren't super exciting. It was hard to connect with them, which makes it hard to care about the story. I just wanted more from it.

Really great read for anyone into romance. Such a good story and one I really loved!

This is a unrequited love story set in New York (one of my favourite settings for romance) about four friends who work in a gift shop.

This story didn't hit the mark for me, again it brought nothing new to the genre like so many romance I have read recently and was predictable and samey.

I felt there wasn't a good sense of when this story was set, we have one character use a fax machine but then this story felt like it was set now so I was left a bit confused.

I mean this story wasn't bad but I just wish we could have more substance to the genre in general.

I felt like I had read this story or one similar before. It's the classic, boy is best friends with the beautiful girl, he has loved her his whole life and she has no idea.! It's ok if you are looking for something predictable and light, to read.

I really wanted to enjoy Crazy Stupid Love. I loved the books predecessor A New York Love Story. I loved revisiting the previous characters Cade and Clover and seeing how they are getting on but I genuinely didn’t like the main character in Crazy Stupid Love. Cassie Rocca had made her protagonist really unlikable.

Zoe Mathison came across as spoiled and demanding. I kept yelling at the book that Eric was a fool for liking her. Because I really didn’t warm to the character I found myself unwilling to pick up the book to read.

Not my favourite.

Crazy Stupid Love by Cassie Rocca is available now.

I was really excited by the premise of this book but the characters fell a little flat for me. The main character in particular was really hard to feel for, and I couldn't see what the male character saw in her. However, it had some cute moments overall.

A friends to lovers story.
Zoe is always falling for the wrong guys. Eric suffers with each wrong man Zoe chooses. Fun, funny, and romantic.
Great premise, not the best execution. Characters and story could be more developed.

DNF I'm sorry to say I tried I really did, I just didn't enjoy the story. I must say it is well written but the story itself just didn't do it for me. I think I really disliked the main character as she whines quite a bit.

It just didn't quite live up to the expectations.

Zoe Mathison is determined to finally find THE ONE, it’s not easy though, especially if you’re surrounded by happy couples and then your ex turns up on top of yet.

Eric Morgan is her best friend, they have been best friends for 10 years and Eric has had feelings for Zoe ever since. His feelings are still there, but he tries to hide them. He wants to prove to himself that he can move on, when another girl appears on the scene.

I actually found t hard to get into the book and connecting with the characters. I found out later that it’s actually book 2 of a series, so it’s probably because of that. I also didn’t feel the New York vibes and certain things just didn’t make sense to me.

Half way through though I really started enjoying the book and warmed up to Eric especially. I loved following him around and reading about his emotions. I also really liked his scenes with Zoe. I struggled a bit with the pace of the storyline, but something kept me in the story.

I think the idea behind it all is great and certain parts were gripping, funny and authentic.

Rating: 3.5/5

DNF.
This book gave me a massive headache. It was terrible. The protagonist was a whiny person who kept on talking about how men take advantage of her body. I can't believe I got fooled by the pretty cover and I lost a lot of brain cells reading this!

I have to admit that it took me a little while to warm up to Zoe although I think it was mainly down to the fact that I knew about Eric's feelings and she didn't. So I guess I naturally had a little more sympathy for Eric but to be fair to Zoe she is completely in the dark as to his feelings. I really enjoyed their friendship and how comfortable they were with each other.

Crazy Stupid Love is book two in a series so it may be worthwhile reading them in order just so it's easier to get a feel for the characters straight away. Although after a while I got caught up in the story and found myself drawn into their lives. I have to say that I loved the idea of Giftland and the fact that they all worked together and were all friends.

I think that the second half comes into it's own and I did find myself rooting for the characters. The pacing is good although at times could have had a more faster pace. However it did build up the friendship side and that way you really hope the characters will get their happy ending. On the whole I enjoyed the relationships in this story especially how Eric is always there for Zoe even if it's just as her friend. If you like a friends to lovers story then it maybe perfect for you.

Three and a half stars rounded up to Four.

With thanks to Aria Fiction & Netgalley for my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

I think most of us enjoy a good friends to lovers story, and the promise for this one was strong. We can all relate to Zoe’s desire to find a relationship with someone who appreciates her – and just how difficult that can be. And everyone has met (or heard of) an Eric, hopelessly in love with his friend, who doesn’t see him as anything more. So just what can he do to make that change, and if he does, will she ever be able to see him as something more?

So I am torn on this story – I wanted to find myself laughing and appreciating moments, cheering on Zoe and Eric, and finding moments where the city seems to push them together (You’ve Got Mail – anyone?). Unfortunately the dated feel of the story (Faxes, an MIT grad working as a videographer), the protracted and repeated refrains from nearly every character (and there are many) in the story, that surround their unreturned feelings and hopeful crushes.

Long and overused passages of internal dialogue that seemed only to tell readers the issues before proceeding to rehash the moments – without actually coming to any resolutions. Add to that a multitude of characters that assume the first book has been read, but never really presenting them with backstories until long after their introduction became confusing and overwhelming: a problem I rarely experience no matter where I enter a series. When you add those problems to a hero who spends more time navel-gazing and rehashing what was instead of deciding how to get where he wants to be, add a self-absorbed and self-obsessed heroine that never really seems to recognize her own part in her unhappiness and I was left with no one to care about. Sure, I tried: and there were moments that the promise of a budding relationship as it realigned were sparking, over the progress of the book, these moments were too infrequent and appeared too late to redeem the story overall. With little to no use of the city as a supporting character, several elements that didn’t quite fit the narrative, and the all tell no show writing, the story was a struggle to finish.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Crazy Stupid Love is the second installment in Blame it on New York series. This is a story about Zoe and Eric.

Zoe Mathison has it all, but she never really had friends as she never clicked with the girls and guys just thought of as someone to flirt with. I didn't click with Zoe from the get go only but there is a certain sweetness to her. I guess I was irritated with her because she just couldn't see or didn't want to accept what was in front of her. Eric's love.

Eric is our hero. He is sweet and nerdy guy who is irreversibly in love with Zoe. Throughout the book he struggling with his emotions between love for her, feeling cowardly to express his love and frustration when she went out or flirted with other guys. What I didn't get is why he waited for 10 years to confess his love, when they were always together. Zoe never got a clue about his love in 10 whole years!!

I really liked their setting of the gift shop where all the characters work. I liked the friendship between the four characters, Zoe, Clover, Eric and Liberty. We also get to see Clover and Cade, I really liked them. I believe there's is the first book. I also liked Clover as a person. If you're looking for a quick contemporary romance set in New York, you can check this series out.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Aria for the ARC for my honest review. First time reading this author. I did not realize that this was number 2 in a series. It reads like a stand alone. I give the book a 3.5. I think alot of romance readers would like this book. I did not really click with the characters. It is a fun, cute book. How many of us overlook what you already have? Standing right in front of you? Taking people and their love for granted. Let me know what you think.

Review: I loved this book. It is a romance where what you have always wanted has been right there the whole time.

Cassie Rocca has a way with words, creating scenes where the conversations between characters feels either tense or funny, in depth and the friendship and romance shines through.

The title sums the story up perfectly. It is based on how friendship can get in the way of true love. Through some really laugh out loud moments and crazy antics the two main characters start a journey to find true love. I am not giving away where Cupid's arrow lands but this is a story well worth reading, just make sure you have a suitable amount of time set aside for this book.

Really looking forward to more from Cassie Rocca 10/10 for this crazy journey to love.

A sweet quick read with a couple- Zoe and Eric- you know are going to get together but who have to work through things to be a pair. Well, Zoe does. Nicely written with some good New York atmosphere. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is short and while that's sometimes a virtue, I would have liked a bit more.

Zoe is always being let down by love and is determined to find the perfect man but could he have been right under her nose all of the time

Eric has been in love with Zoe for years but she never notices him and only sees him as a friend, finally he decides that he must get over her and get out there and find someone else

Very predictable read and I found it very hard to relate to Zoe - the book was lacking something for me

I wanted to like this story, but it went down hill for me after Zoe and Eric's New Years celebrations. Both characters quickly became unlikable. Zoe was very self centered and completely oblivious Eric's feelings. Eric was constantly whining and feeling sorry for himself, yet was allowing Zoe to treat him like a doormat. I couldn't find a single reason why Eric would be so in love with Zoe in the first place. We were told that she was once a different person, but were only shown her bad qualities.

I ended up skipping through a lot of the story because the pacing was very slow since I grew to care for neither of the characters. It was also very repetitive with certain words and internal character thoughts. I won't be reading the other books in this series.
