Bert Lee, we have been with him before so we know we are in for a wild ride. Smuggled half way around the world for millions this is a very descriptive and well researched book. I have been to one or two of the places portrayed and it is obvious the author has too. This has some great twists. a happy ending, so alas the inevitable sequel. Enjoy this!
Bret Lee is an American college professor who goes to China with his wife to visit her family. On a stop he gets off the plane to buy a newspaper and that takes him on a trip to eventually to be sold for millions or to be killed. He is handed from person to person. In Syria he is in prison. In a matter of luck he gets away and ,meets a Peshmerga fighter on her way back to Kurdistan. She takes him under her protection and eventually gets home.
Once home he is asked to go as a professor to Syria and make contacts with a military leader to talk to the president of Syria of ways to help the country. The whole story is interesting and flows well.
