Before I delved into Shattering Time, I read the first in this series-Stealing Time. The author does an excellent job of summarizing the back story in the second novel but I feel that reading the first novel really increased my appreciation of the second. Ronnie Andrews is an immensely likable heroine and following her adventures and exploring her relationships makes for a great read. The book is part science fiction, part mystery and part fantasy and the three blend extremely well. I am anxiously awaiting book #3 in this series.

Jeffery Brennan has sent Ronnie Anderson into 18th century London and thinks hie experiment was very successful though Ronnie can't figure out what happened. He has given her something so she can't quite remember after she returned. Now he is telling her she needs help, her minds is not good. In the mean time he is working on Hannah to propel another hurricane their way. Ronnie wants to go to her mother's before it starts but can't get away in time. She asks Stephanie, Nick and Steph's brother, Ian to stay with her through this one. Jeffery is not happy with that. He had other plans which he will now have trouble putting into motion and all because Ronnie has ruined his plans. Can he still make her time travel happen?

The first book in this series was much better than this one. The plot seemed to drag on and on. I'm ready for Ronnie to realize how bad Jeffrey is for her. It is time for her to find Mathias. I'm quite distraught with the end and its plot switch with Mike. It's a little unbelievable. I will read one more book in the series in hope that all the loose ends are tied up. I was given the chance to be an early reader by NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
