Adventurous and fun! This book, and the book series, is fantastic, very much a guilty pleasure for me. There are a lot of flaws with it, but it was fun to read! Recommend it if this is something that you are looking for.
Absolutely loved this book. Just adore Agatha and Sophie they are such great characters. Have loved reading all the school of good and evil books so far and this one didn’t disappoint. Am sad though that I have to wait until the next book is out to find out what happens next
I absolutely loved this book. Once again there was a fantastic mix of adventure, romance and friendship in the world of School of Good and Evil. Although this is the 4th book in the series, the storyline still felt original and I couldn't put the book down. I loved the unique spin on Arthurian legend that was woven into the book.
These books are a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. Not that you should ever feel guilty about reading. But what I mean by that is that even though I rationally know I shouldn't perhaps enjoy them I still do...
They are at their heart very silly - evil queens who insist everyone go to parties and build foam pits and the like - which is what I enjoy about them. This book has a fair amount of that silliness in it and so I did have fun reading it.
However.
I feel like four (quite long) books of trying to explain that life isn't always black and white or good vs evil - that things are more complicated than that, may be a bit too much. I'm a little bit tired of the same story just in different settings with a slightly different set of characters.
Which is tricky because I do like these characters, though Sophie can get a little wearing at times, it is the host of side characters that really make these stories however, and they don't feel like they get as much 'screen time' in this one.
Again, I'm conflicted about this because I really did have a great time reading it, but as soon as I come to review it I see a lot of flaws, but I probably would read it again. It's a bit like my favourite christmas film The Holiday. I know it's absolute nonsense and there's a lot wrong with it but I love to watch it anyway.
If you want something that is not particularly difficult to read and you enjoyed the first few books in this series then I think you will enjoy this. If you haven't read the first few I would recommend starting there rather than jumping in with this one.
My rating: 3/5 stars
