Katie Fforde's books are always a sure thing for those who enjoy a good story involving characters of all ages, proving that love is not only for the young.

The cover attracted me first – I was in the mood for a bit of a sunshine read and I really thought this would fit the bill. It did, and I even have green fingers as a result! Well, I’ve bought a packet of seeds, lets not get carried away but I am more prepared for spring now than I was before. This book took me into that garden and made me see flowers and the joy of the outdoors.

It’s a nice story about the power of taking time out to appreciate the small things in life and trying to create something beautiful. It’s a story about finding love when you least expect it and makes for a lovely sunny read. Like the children’s story of the same name, I felt very calm reading this book – there’s something magical and fascinating about a secret garden – and it’s nice light reading this one. Puts a smile on your face!

Ms Fforde has such a way of writing that one becomes so invested in the characters that it is hard to see the book end. No matter the book, one always feels comforted when it ends. I would recommend her books to anyone seeking a good book with a heart-warming ending. Her books are the best - she has never let me down.

Cute story. I liked reading about all the garden flowers and how they used them made it all come to life. The characters really came to life. I think Seamus was my favorite, he has some moves.

I adored this book! Three outwardly very different women: Philly, a young plant woman; Lorna, a master gardener; Anthea, a British aristocrat find that they are very much alike and find friendship in restoring a secret garden and find love in equally unexpected places. This is a light happy read that left me waiting for the next Katie Fforde book.
