I found this too much of an upsetting book, and it affected me emotionally and I was, therefore, unable to finish it.
This book was so beautifully written. As a parent the fear that your child might not be ok carries throughout their life. The f at of Anna, the main character, there confusion form her husband and the perspectives of her two sons were so wonderfully written. Uncomfortable reading at times, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book.,
Moving and captivating - the more you read the more you are drawn in.
This is a sad and sometimes lovely book. I liked the four perspectives, which gave a very rounded view of the awful time the family was having. I also loved the hints about Anna's past life - it really showed how much Teddy's illness had defined her.
I did however feel that I needed a bit more from it - and I found it frustrating that no-one ever spoke out. And the two children were a bit too sweet - not one ever complained or had a tantrum! The family needed a good deal more screaming and shouting to make them believable!
