We found out about the Knight family's childhood in Holiday in the Hamptons (although there are references to it in Moonlight Over Manhattan) which led to Harriet being over-protected by twin sister Fliss and brother Daniel. I loved being a part of Harriet coming out from the shadows to live her life (yes, it really does feel as if I know these characters). The way she challenged herself is certainly courageous and I think she just might be my favourite of Sarah Morgan's characters from this series of six novels. When I think back to the beginning of the story I can honestly say she is an inspiration and the story holds an important message about the boundaries and limitations we put on ourselves. Harriet shows the reader how the benefits far outweigh the fear of breaking out of our comfort zones and that there is always hope.

Ethan, having learnt to disconnect from his feelings as a necessity for his job, isn't the perfect person at first to help Harriet with her confidence. But Harriet still shows strength in what she was prepared to do to ensure Madi receives the care she needs while her owner is away. No wilting sunflower where dogs are concerned (she's fierce :) ), it's just people that Harriet stumbles with. I loved how their friendship grew and the peeling off of those layers Ethan has shrouded himself in. As in previous stories, I was totally invested emotionally.

With a great cast of characters, a sprinkling of humour, the most fabulous settings and a slow-burning soul connection, Moonlight Over Manhattan is a must read this season.

This is our book of the month. We don't have a picture of it above as we read the ebook version but we can assure you the cover is beautiful too. Sarah Morgan writes perfect contemporary books. They are fun, light and heart-warming, her words are like a metaphorical cup of hot chocolate on a snowy winters night. Moonlight over Manhattan is the last book in her New York series and we think it might be our favourite one of hers yet. Sarah has written 6 books in her New York series, each book concentrates on a different person in a group that are all connected to each other. You can read them in sequence or not, it doesn't matter as they are stand alone books with only slight nods to the other characters in the previous books. Moonlight Over Manhattan features Harriet who, being so shy challenges herself to do one thing everyday in December that scares her. Whilst doing that, Harriet pushes herself out of her comfort zone more than ever, expands her business, meets new friends and Ethan black who might be the biggest challenge of all. A must read over the Christmas period, you won't regret it.

Christmas would be absolutely unimaginable without a festive Sarah Morgan novel and this outstanding multi award-winning author has pulled out all the stops with this year’s sensational offering: Moonlight Over Manhattan!

The time has come for Harriet Knight to stop hiding in the shadows and to grab life with both hands. With her brother and sister both settled with the loves of their life, Harriet has decided to strike out on her own and do one thing a day that scares her – and what could be scarier than online dating? Unfortunately for Harriet, the guys she is meeting tend to be more frogs than Prince Charming – which is why she ends up in the emergency room with a sprained ankle after jumping out of a bathroom window and legging it out of a restaurant in the middle of a disastrous date! But all is not lost for the doctor tending to her is the deliciously brooding and very sexy medic, Ethan Black…

Working every hour God sends in a busy hospital does not leave much time for a love life – and that is exactly how Ethan likes it. Having neither the time, energy or inclination for dating means that Ethan’s life revolves completely around his job and he couldn’t be happier about it. It’s a shame, however, that his sister does not realise this for she’s only gone and lumbered him with her exuberant dog Madi! Ethan knows next to nothing about dogs and when Madi’s crazy antics start getting a bit much he realises he needs help – and his life turns upside down when canine expert extraordinaire, Harriet Knight walks through the door of his apartment.

Ethan might be the most gorgeous man she’s ever met, but he is also the rudest, most aggravating and most infuriating client Harriet has ever had the misfortune to have. Had it not been for the adorable dog he is temporarily in charge of, Harriet would have left him to his own devices. But when she realises that Ethan’s bark is far worse than his bite, she soon finds herself falling head over heels in love with him…

Is Ethan the man of her dreams? Or will his fear of commitment and inability to let down his guard cost him his last chance at happiness?

Sarah Morgan will steal your heart with Moonlight Over Manhattan! Charming, engrossing and so wonderfully feel-good that you’ll be smiling from start to finish, Moonlight Over Manhattan is a spellbinding romance with an adorable heroine I couldn’t help but cheer for, the most gorgeous hero ever and lashings of warmth, charm, humour, magic and heart.

Moonlight Over Manhattan is the latest in a long list of keepers by Sarah Morgan and I am already counting down the days until her next release!

A light and easy read, perfect for cold nights snuggled under a blanket. I haven't read the rest of the From Manhattan With Love series but the book could be read as a standalone tale and I didn't feel I was missing out without the back stories of the characters. An enjoyable romance without schmaltz, what's not to love?

Sarah Morgan at her best. Loved the location, the hilarity, the romance. All the feels in this book. Delicious escapism from the master.

Rating 4.5/5

Moonlight Over Manhattan was very surprising, I was expecting a lighthearted and easy read but I wasn't expecting that there would be a lot of depth to it or that I would become quite as emotionally invested as I did.

I felt like I could really relate to Harriet, being fairly quiet and shy myself, some of the situations she put herself into as part of her project to challenge herself made me feel anxious for her. Her growth was really inspiring, it was good to see that it was a self-directed change and not for someone else.

The developing relationship between Harriet and Ethan was lovely to read, it was great to see them bounce off each other and how they both were able to surprise each other with unexpected behaviours. They don't get off to a good start, but by the end you are really rooting for them to get through their differences and stubbornness.

As I usually find in romance books there were times that things were a little bit predictable and slightly unbelievable however there was a lot more to the story than I had thought there would be. I won't give away any details but there was a lot of substance to the characters backgrounds and that really did help make it more well rounded.

I hadn't realized before I read the book that it was part of a series but I am pleased to say that you don't have to have read any of the other books to know what is going on. Any other characters, who I am assuming have been the subjects of the other books, that are mentioned are given enough detail and I didn't ever feel like I was missing out on some knowledge.

I've not read a Sarah Morgan book before but I will certainly be looking out for her books from now on, I'm pretty sure I might go back and start this series from the beginning as well.

If you're looking for a funny, emotional, heartwarming tale with a festive feel then I would definitely recommend this book.

I loved this story. It's the second book from Sarah Morgan that I have read and by far my favourite. I am the girl who loves a happily ever after and Moonlight Over Manhatten didn't disappoint. I will most definitely be buying all the books that are in this series (although I don't think you need to read the series to enjoy the story) and starting them from the beginning so that I can get to know some of the other characters better - I didn't realise that they were a series so I can't wait to start from the very beginning. I would love to see the story made in to film as I think it would be great on screen. I would highly recommend the book if you're looking for a little romance around the festive period.

Another epsisode in the life of the twins this time a perfect Christmas tale about Harriet who has set herself goals to overcome with her life. A caring but shy girl who has conquered her stammer brought about by early family relations. She enjoys her life as a dog walker until Ethan an A & E Consultant comes into her life when he offers to look after Madi. She is forced to accept that she is falling for him as she helps out by staying over at his apartment. A fast pace novel, which is beautifullly written with a good cast of characters - a thoroughly good read!

I thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas read, mainly due to the central character, Harriet. She is so full of insecurities, full of empathy for her dogs and showing her kindness through the way she deals with her clients. She has natural people skills, although she does not seem to realise this, and in many ways is the reason that the dog walking business is so well regarded.

It's an out and out romance as Harriet and Ethan 'dance' around each other's feelings. With subsidiary characters who add to the colour of the book and two strong leads, you feel you know where the story is going. Watching the story unfold is where the enjoyment lies. Harriet has her shyness and lack of confidence to overcome. Meanwhile, you feel that Ethan needs to wake up and smell the coffee! With lots of references to the power of food to nurture and show care, in some ways, the book is in praise of friendship and family.

In short: a romance full of love, friendship and family values.

Thanks to the author for a copy of the book.

Another fabulous, magical , romantic page turner from the queen of the Christmas novel. Harriet and Ethan’s story is beautifully written and kept me enchanted through out . Couldn’t put it down. If you only buy one Christmas novel this year make sure it’s this one.
If you only buy one

Thank you to net galley for this free edition of the book which is really well prepared for publication without any of the common formatting difficulties.
I thought the book was very well written. The Characters likeable and believable and much more than just a romance. I felt there were important messages about the necessity for family relationships and the power of friendship.
The book fits the never in a million years / on again / off again relationship common in romance but in a way that really engages the reader and is multi dimensional to boot.
I would certainly read more by this author - and to be honest Romance is not my preferred genre. I ma always pleasantly surprised when introduce to writing by an author from a genre that is not you normal one

Harriet is a a dog walker with an almost Dr Doolittle type zeal for her canine charges . She has not had a trouble free life and lacks confidence in even the simple everyday life events. There is humour and pathos in equal measure. The beginning really draws you into her character with her escape from online date number 3

My next festive reading recommendation comes from Sarah Morgan "The Queen of Christmas" as it said on my review copy. I hadn't realised but this is part of a series of books and is in fact the sixth in the From Manhattan with Love series. Now I haven't read any of them and if you haven't either, don't be put off as this reads perfectly as a standalone novel. If you have read the others, I believe you will meet some characters who featured in some of the previous novels.

This novel focuses on Harriet Knight who is like me in many ways, one of which being she likes being firmly inside her comfort zone. Previously, Harriet would have said her "idea of taking a risk is reading my Kindle in the bath". I had to smile at that as that's something I do too but have never really considered it a risk. Unlike me, she has decided that she is going to do something about her quiet life and has challenged herself to do something which scares her every day from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Which is why we first meet her hanging out a restaurant's toilet window, wearing very high heels as she attempts to leave a disastrous date she set up through online dating. And which is how she first meets Dr Ethan Black when she goes to the emergency room fearing she has broken her ankle. Their paths cross again when she is dog-walking his sister's dog and ends up agreeing to move into his apartment to look after the dog. (Don't call her 'the dog' in front of Harriet, she's called Madi! Another difference between us is that she very much a dog person and I am very much not!)

This is a fabulous escapist read, particularly if you have ever wanted to visit New York in winter. The cold and snow was so vividly described as well as the beautiful skiing resort in Vermont - and I so wanted to stay in that cosy sounding lodge with its roaring fire. Sarah Morgan made New York in the snow sound very appealing and Dr Black sounded rather appealing too! He was quite a frustrating character in some ways as he seemed blind to everything but his work. And yet, he clearly did have the capacity to love as shown by his love for his sister and his care for his colleague Susan - eventually he even softened his attitudes towards dogs. Harriet was a character who I think many people would find it easy to identify with. She was lacking in self-confidence and it was clear that much of this had stemmed from her childhood experiences. She loved her brother and twin sister very much but seemed to have given up on any thoughts of romantic happiness for herself, preferring to spend her time with her beloved dogs who never let her down.

Moonlight over Manhattan is a wonderfully romantic festive novel with plenty drama and showing many aspects of caring for other people, not just romantically. There is a lot of warm humour too, often provided courtesy of the various dogs Harriet looks after. If you want a feel-good novel to read this Christmas then this is one you can add to your list.

This is the third book in a trilogy about a brother, two sisters and their dogs, It tells the story of Harriet who is feeling lonely now that her brother and sisters have found love. She decides to start ‘Challenge Harriet’ and make herself do things she wouldn’t normally do. The story starts with an amusing episode where she is climbing out of a window away from a terrible blind date. A trip tio the ER follows and the first meeting with Ethan, a doctor who is scarred by the failure of his first marriage. They meet again over the dog he is looking after for his sister. A sweet romance follows and this book is a nice way to spend an afternoon,
A word of caution: In real life, if a stranger asks you to stay in their flat to look after their dog, say no.

A lovely easy romance to read, predictable ,yes, but a different story line. Good bedtime/winter daytime reading.

Moonlight Over Manhattan by Sarah Morgan is a delightful fun read. I always enjoy Sarah Morgan's novels as they warm my heart and leave a smile on my face. This is the sixth book in the From Manhattan With Love series and I loved catching up with familiar faces.
Moonlight Over Manhattan is about hope and kindness. Main character Harriet radiates kindness wherever she goes. Her open and generous spirit is infectious. She sees what others miss - she sees people. "Small things matter." It is in the detail that her huge heart shines through.
The novel revolves around dogs. Dogs of all different shapes and sizes. Even to a cat person like me, the dogs are wonderful, each with their unique personalities. They have starring roles within the tale.
We all have insecurities. "The F word was fear." Living a life in fear is unproductive. We need to step out and face our fears. I loved the concept of 'challenge Harriet.' There were some wonderfully amusing moments that had me laughing out loud.
Words hurt. Words can have lasting effects. Once spoken we cannot take them back. "He could cause bruises and scars just by opening his mouth." We need to be careful what comes out of our mouths. Words can build up or tear down. We need to be with people who speak life into our lives.
Throughout the novel there was a wonderful warm atmosphere. The reader delights in the dialogue that bounces between characters, all of whom spring to life from the pages of the book.
Snowfall adds to the atmosphere, casting a magical glow over the story which is just perfect for these dark autumn evenings.
A perfectly fun read that will brighten any day.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

I liked this book, its not overly dramatic, just an old fashioned love story,. its the perfect thing to read when you have a bit of me time. The characters are charming in their normality and I liked the way their relationship progressed. It felt believable and organic. Would definitely recommend.

I dived into this book hoping for an early Christmas romance rush and came away with nothing more than a dog day afternoon.
Manhattan and the dogs were the best part of this book. The human characters lacked, for me, any redeeming qualities. I didn't root for them, hope for them or even care about them.
The story was lacking Christmas Magic and New York sparkle and I did struggle to finish it.
Perhaps this just isn't the book for me, but I did persist with it and finished it within a weekend.
Grab this book for a weekend read. Maybe curl up beside your Christmas tree with your furry friend and hope the additions add to the read.

5☆ Heart Warming Festive Romance

Moonlight over Manhatten is the 6th book in the series, but my first ever book by Sarah Morgan.
However i really do feel you can read this comfortably as a standalone.

Moonlight over Manhatten is a story of finding the confidence to find love and start a new beginning. It's a heartwarming story about facing up to your fears. Not forgetting the adorable pup Madi.

Poor Harriet really doesn't seem to have any luck with finding love. She is very shy and lacks self confidence.
Harriet is a Twin and her sister is her backbone and definitely the confident one.
But when she finds love herself she leaves Harriet having to face life head on, on her own!

So Harriet decides to break down her barriers slowly one day at a time, by challenging herself to do one challange a day that pushes her boundaries! In turn hoping to grow as a person and build up her confidence.

So when Harriet meets Ethan, the grumpy yet very sexy Dr things just might be looking up for her!
You see Harriet and Ethan's first encounter with each other is in A&E where Harriet finds herself with a bad ankle after escaping from a date with disastrous but hilarious consequences.

So when they bump into each other again dog walking. Ethan asks Harriet to help him with his sister's pup Madi.

Ethan hasn't got a clue how to care for Madi and what with his job he just hasn't got the time he needs for Madi.
So he persuades Harriet to move in with him temporary to help settle Madi and look after her.

This is one HUGE challange for Harriet and really will push all of her boundaries at once.
So she shocks herself when she agrees.

As the two get closer it's so heart warming to see Harriet grow in confidence.
But is it all too late and will Ethan open his eyes to how amazing and beautiful inside and out Harriet is before it's too late??

This is such a beautiful story, and I'm sure people will relate to Harriet and her shyness. It was a joy to watch her grow in confidence.
Any book that features pups is a big win for me. So I was hooked from just reading the blurb.

But once I started reading I fell in love with the story and Sarah swept me away with her Characters and the festive feel good factor.

Definetly recommend this book to readers looking for a warm, endearing festive read, that will melt your heart and have you rooting for love.

Perfect read for lovers of Chick Lit and Romance with a sprinkle of humour and feel good festive cheer.

I can't wait to read More from Sarah Morgan!
