I liked Holiday in the Hamptons by Sarah Morgan when I read it earlier this year, but I loved Moonlight Over Manhattan. This book focuses on Harriet, the quieter, more reserved twin. Her sister has moved to the Hamptons with Seth so Harriet is left alone in New York City running their successful dog walking business.

Keen to overcome her shyness, she decides to set herself a daily challenge where she completes something out of her comfort zone. This includes dealing with one of her clients temporary dog sitters, Ethan.

This book has all the heartwarming characteristics of a festive read as the chemistry builds between Harriet and Ethan. As the book progresses, so does the story and you find yourself drawn in.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and the author for the chance to review.

I must admit after New York, Actually and Holiday in the Hamptons failed to hit the heights of the first three books in the From Manhattan with Love series, I did go into this with some trepidation. And I was so pleased to discover that Harriet and Ethan brought back some of the Sarah Morgan magic that's been hiding from me.

"There is nowhere more magical than New York in the snow."

This was very much a book that grew on me as the story progressed, as did Harriet and Ethan with a chemistry which very much builds as they get to know one another. He's not an easy nut to crack and there were times when I wanted to shake him but, after a wobbly start, Harriet begins to bring out the best in him. As he does her and if you've ever suffered from shyness, then you can't not feel an affinity to Harriet.

"Life would be so much easier if I was better with people."

I really enjoyed the path that Sarah took this story, despite it taking some time to get there, holding a lovely emotional angle—largely down to Harriet, but partly courtesy of Ethan's fellow doctor, Susan who I hope gets her story told—and for lovers of the Snow Crystal series there's a real treat in store. All in all a nice addition to the series which has a winter/festive element, but isn't overly done so can be read at any time of year.

4 - "I live my life in my comfort zone..." Stars!

The sixth book in Sarah Morgan’s From Manhattan with love series finally beings us Harriet Knight’s story.

IMAGE.

I started this book with some trepidation, having not managed to finish its predecessor; Holiday in the Hamptons, and finding brother Daniel’s book New York, Actually a tad lackluster compared to the first three books in this series, Moonlight Over Manhattan finally returned to the stellar quality of writing and story-line that I have come to expect from this author.

"Relationships are complicated…"

Harriet and Ethan’s book reminded me a little of Eva and Lucas’s book; Miracle on 5th Avenue in that they are a couple thrown together over the seasonal period, and are both a little lost when it comes to their personal life and connections.

She was the sort of woman men wanted to help. Not the sort they wanted to help themselves too…

Sarah gave me the slow build, the simmering chemistry, and the burning emotional connection that I have come to expect from her writing with this couple, and things progress between them at a steady pace, all played out around the care of a highly strung dog, meddling colleagues, friends and family.

Hot he might be, but he wasn’t her type at all…

We get to return to Snow Crystal Resort for a catch up which I loved, and as usual the author delivered a story, brimming with seasonal magic, romance and sparkle. But I do think this series has run its course now in all honesty, and stopping with Moonlight Over Manhattan would certainly close it out on a high point. I am sure we will get to catch up with the characters we have met through the books in future stories and series’ as the author always manages to crossover at points, I hope that the author has something fresh and new up her sleeve for her readers in 2018, with a different locale and lots of new characters to get to know.

Sweet and Sexy.
Yet another wonderful romance by Sarah Morgan. Harriet is a much braver person than she thinks she is. I certainly wouldn't want to take up the challenge to do something I found difficult everyday, I like my comfort zone too much for that! Harriet is a kind and compassionate woman and I enjoyed how she grew in confidence throughout the story and Dr Ethan Black is a fabulous hero.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

What an absolute darling of a story. It digs into all my favourite things - snow, Christmas, dogs, romance and even hot chocolate & chocolate chip cookies. A recipe for success. It's put me in the mood for Christmas a little prematurely but no matter. It was a magical, sensitive, heart warming and perceptive read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think I might put Manhattan at Christmas on my wish list too. Harriet is not a risk taker. F stands for fear in her mind to the point of stammering. She decides to go on a confidence quest as a self-improvement exercise and calls it her Harriet-challenge. But will her personality cope with it? I loved the dialogue between her and the hot-doctor Ethan. The progression from stilted small-talk to bickering, flirty and teasing was not only amusing but impressively done. I shall post this on Amazon, GoodReads, Facebook and my blog after publication. Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for letting me read it.

I always look forward to Christmas, not because of the holiday itself but because it means we’re in for another Sarah Morgan Christmas romance. She truly is the queen of romance and this book didn’t disappoint. Yet again I picked it up early one Saturday morning and couldn’t put it down. I lost most of the day (something which happens every time I read one of Morgan’s books) but it was totally worth it.

There is a super nice and kind main character Harriet, a sexy blue eyed ER Doctor who doesn’t think he has a heart, a small trouble making dog and the wonderful New York at Christmas setting to make it all extremely romantic.

The story itself is pretty predictable but it’s such an enjoyable journey that you really don’t mind. Morgan is brilliant at creating characters you care about but also at creating this wonderful chemistry between them. Yes there are many of the usual romance tropes but even if I’ve read them a hundred times I still love them and it’s nice knowing you’re going to get the happily ever after.

I also found there was something quite inspirational about this story. Harriet has decided to challenge herself to do something she doesn’t want to every day to try and push herself out of her comfort zone. It’s wonderful watching how she develops over the course of the story as she faces her fears and does things she never thought she could. The confidence and freedom she finds kind of made me want to rush out and start my own Challenge Ali.

As well as Harriet and dishy doc Ethan there are a number of new characters and also some familiar faces. Harriet featured in the previous two books in the series so it was great to catch up with the leads from those stories, although I would have liked a bit more Fliss. There was also a little visit to the setting of one of the authors other series which meant I got to catch up with how they were all doing too. I need to make sure they’re all still loved up.

This is the sixth book in the authors From Manhattan with Love series but while there are some spoilers for previous books it could easily be read as a standalone. I know I have a bit of a tendency to read them in the wrong order and it makes very little difference.

Overall this was a great read and definitely put me in the Christmas spirit. I can’t wait for the next one.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC. As always all thoughts are my own.

Sarah Morgan is known as “The Queen of Romance” and this latest stunning Christmas novel shows just why. I am always excited when a new book comes out as Sarah is one of my favourite authors and after reading this one has set me up for Christmas even though it’s only autumn!

Moonlight Over Manhattan continues the Manhattan With Love series and this instalment tells Harriet’s story. Having previously been introduced in earlier books in this series, I was able to connect straight away with the main character who is not only shy, caring and vulnerable but also ballsy. Harriet Knight decides that she needs to change now that her twin sister Fliss has moved out so she sets about a daily challenge until December that really scares her. It is whilst doing just this that she meets ER doctor Ethan for the first time. Neither of them are prepared to commit to a relationship but there is definitely a magical spark there.

Characters from a previous trilogy are re-introduced as the tale progresses, much to my delight as it is fabulous to see how the handsome O’Neil brothers as well as other residents at Snow Crystal including the dogs are doing when Ethan invites Harriet there for a vacation.

A 5 Star novel, which can also be read as a standalone if you haven’t read the others in this series.

My thanks to Net Galley for the ARC in return for an honest opinion.

*Book provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

Sarah Morgan is the queen of New York. I absolutely adore her From Manhattan With Love series and couldn’t wait for this book.

We know the main character Harriet already, because her twin Fliss and her brother Daniel were featured in previous books of the series. Having this connection transported me right into the heart of this story.

Harriet looks after her clients’ dogs. Her newest one is spaniel Madi. Madi has a temporary dog sitter: Ethan Black, a very gorgeous ER doctor.

Harriet and Ethan have a very special chemistry from the start, but it takes time for the two of them to warm up to each other. That was very interesting to read about. They fall for each other, but things are not easy. They both have a past…

I loved getting insides to Ethan’s work as a doctor and we got to know other characters through that. Susan is absolutely fabulous!!! I have read Sarah Morgan’s books for years, so it made made really happy to read about the O’Neil family again I loved them from the start, especially Jackson and Kayla. Hearing what they have been up to, was great!

Harriet is a great character. I saw a little bit of myself in her and that always makes it easy to relate to a character. Of course I would have made some different decisions, but it's Harriet and she stayed true to herself!

I’m not a dog person at all, but I really liked Madi ;).

As I already said, Sarah Morgan is the queen of New York, but also manages to create a unique festive atmosphere around Christmas.

The storyline flows beautifully and Sarah Morgan’s writing is wonderful.

Love, romance, passion, Christmas, New York, a sexy doctor, lovable characters… that’s all you need in a book! LOVE!!!

Sarah Morgan delights in her latest trilogy. The Christmas story features Harriet. Harriet is challenging herself to be more confident and daring, instead of relying on her twin - she is determined to step out from her shadow. The book shows how Harriet grows into a confident caring woman and who can blame Ethan for falling in love with her. Such a romantic book and I really liked the pro-active heroine. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher of letting me review the book.

Reading a novel by Sarah Morgan is like meeting up with treasured friends, you know you are going to have a good time. I adore this series its given us New York at Christmas, solid friendships and dreamy romances. This time around its Harriet's story. Harriet's life is going through major upheaval. Her twin sister is off enjoying married life in the Hampton's. Harriet has decided its time for some changes in her life. First of all she is going to spend Christmas alone. She has started to online date. These are all things that are challenging to shy Harriet. On one of her dates while trying to escape out a bathroom window she twists her ankle. While being attended to in the ER she meets hunky Ethan.
Neither expect to meet again until fate throws them a helping hand. Harriet runs a dog walking business and one of her clients is Ethan's sister. When she has to go to her daughter who has had an accident. She asks Ethan to look after the family dog. He isn't too keen, but when his sister says she will hire someone to walk the dog twice a day. He can't say no to her. Arriving at his apartment after a bad day he finds utter destruction and Harriet. Ethan isn't happy to say the least. He begs Harriet to move in and dog sit. This isn't a service she normally offers. But it is perfect for her challenge Harriet challenge. I loved the romance between Ethan and Harriet, they were perfect for each other. I didn't want to put the book down and was sad when i reached the end.
Highly recommended for all fans of contemporary romance.

A very typical romantic story set in snowy New York. Great holiday read.

Call her the #QueenofChristmas or as I often say the Queen of romantic trilogies, or just the queen of romance, whatever your preferred superlative for Sarah Morgan is, I think she has surpassed them with Moonlight Over Manhattan.

One of the things I was most excited to see was towards the end of the book, but it pleased me and frustrated me in equal measure. Now I'm not going to give any spoilers, and that is what frustrated me as I want to be able to say just how and why I loved something so much but I can't as that wouldn't be fair. The only thing I'll say if if you are a huge Sarah Morgan fan, there is some crossover of other books!

The book started with me laughing, at an escape from a bad date, and our discovering that shy, quiet Harriet from the previous books, is embarking on a personal challenge between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and is going to do one thing each day that scares her, and tries to get her to move away from her comfort zone.

She is still absolutely brilliant with animals, and I loved not only seeing the caring, nurturing side of her personality shine out with regards the dogs she walks, but the lengths she goes to, to make sure Madi is comfortable in her temporary home with Dr. Hot otherwise known as Ethan.

I loved seeing Ethan in his work place, as an ER doctor, I always do love an element of a medical romance. so I took to him reasonably quickly, apart from him being rather unsure about how to look after Madi, while his sister deals with a family emergency.

Harriet and Ethan are not off the best of starts, but I loved seeing how their communications developed over time, as well as how they both developed as characters.

This is the first time in weeks that I have sat and enjoyed a book so fast, which is testament as to how much I always enjoy this author's writing. Instead of falling asleep on the train which I was exhausted enough to do, reading Moonlight Over Manhattan actually gave me energy, and so much enjoyment that I was annoyed when the journey was over - especially on the way home when I reached a part, that if you read the book you will understand would be the most annoying place to have to pause reading a book ever!

As you might be able to tell I adored every second I spent with Harriet and Ethan, including a couple of real jaw dropping moments. This is a joy to read, and the best way to spend a cold winters night is to curl up with this book and lose yourself in its pages.

Thank you so much to HQ and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

There is nothing like a Sarah Morgan book to make reality fall away and transport you into the lives of her characters. In this book you find yourself in Manhattan near Christmas with Harriet. As a twin she has always had someone by her side, to fight her battles and be her confidant but this year is different. Determined to do something that scares her everry day she is forcing herself to be alone this Christmas.
I instantly felt a connection with quiet, shy Harriet who is more comfortable talking to the dogs she walks than people. Her love life is going nowhere fast after some disasterous dates until she stumbles across Dr Ethan Black or Dr Hot as others describe him. I like how none of her characters are perfect and they all have flaws; it makes them more real. The plot flows well and old favourite characters make an appearance as an added treat.
This story hits the spot for a good festive read while curling up under the duvet with a luxurious hot chocolate.

She'll risk everything for her own Christmas miracle…

Determined to conquer a lifetime of shyness, Harriet Knight challenges herself to do one thing a day in December that scares her, including celebrating Christmas without her family. But when dog-walker Harriet meets her newest client, exuberant spaniel Madi, she adds an extra challenge to her list – dealing with Madi's temporary dog-sitter, gruff doctor Ethan Black, and their very unexpected chemistry.

Ethan thought he was used to chaos, until he met Madi – how can one tiny dog cause such mayhem? To Ethan, the solution is simple – he will pay Harriet to share his New York apartment and provide 24-hour care. But there's nothing simple about how Harriet makes him feel.

Ethan's kisses make Harriet shine brighter than the stars over moonlit Manhattan. But when his dog-sitting duties are over, and Harriet returns to her own home, will she dare to take the biggest challenge of all – letting Ethan know he has her heart for life, not just for Christmas?

I really enjoyed this book. A nice romance with a happy (eventually) ending. 4.5*

Pleasant festive romance. Harriet is a dog walker in New York, struggling to throw off the memories of her fraught childhood and endeavouring to make her own way without the constant protection of her twin sister and her brother. When she first meets Ethan whilst helping him look after his sister's dog she doesn't like the closed off a & e doctor but she grows to love him. The course of true love doesn't run smoothly but there is a suitably happy ending to enjoy. I wasn't overly keen on the whole 'alpha male/gentle female' theme but the story did make me smile and it's a fun quick read.

Now we have Harriet’s love story.
Harriet has stayed in New York to carry on with the Dog Walking practical work while Fliss builds up the business in the Haptons.
Harriet is a natural ‘Leader of the Pack’ and finds that dogs naturally behave around her, which make her job easier and fun.
This is when she encounters the Grouch aka the Hot Doctor looking after his sister’s spaniel, who is already Harriet’s client.
Harriet being a natural home-maker too starts cooking and the Grouch gradually comes around to her - and dogs too.

Sarah Morgan has quickly become a favourite of mine and this is the second Christmas book of hers I’ve read this year! Her stories are uplifting, emotional and a wonderful escape from the day. I love the way that you can read many of her latest books as standalones but that they have a thread running through them in that the characters are all connected, even if it’s remotely, to the others so we almost feel like we already know them before we even begin.

Moonlight Over Manhattan focuses on Harriet’s story. Harriet Knight runs the dog walking company, The Bark Rangers, with her twin sister Fliss (whose story is told in Holiday In The Hamptons). I absolutely loved Harriet straight away and she’s definitely the type of woman you’d love to be friends with – caring, sweet and can cook a fabulous meal.

When a client has a family emergency, she calls Harriet to walk the dog, Madi, who will be staying with the client’s brother. Except that brother, the gorgeous doctor Ethan Black, has absolutely no idea about dogs and when he walks in on the first evening just after Harriet, to see his apartment dog-trashed, his temper sets off Harriet’s stammer, and she leaves, taking the dog with her.

Ethan is appalled he’s caused such a reaction, and apologises when she finally returns with the dog, much to his relief. With the dog getting so anxious at being left all day, Harriet agrees to dog sit at the apartment, working from there…but neither Harriet nor Ethan are prepared for the feelings that begin to build or the barriers that begin to fall as they stay together, cocooned against the cold…

I loved how the story developed and at seeing how Ethan’s caring nature helped Harriet’s confidence build over the course of the book. I can’t stand the term ‘a journey’ but Harriet, and Ethan do both discover more about themselves, and what they’re capable of and that was so fun to experience along with them. I started this book one evening and finished it the next morning, not wanting to put it down! Admittedly, this is generally the norm for any Sarah Morgan book I’ve found!

If you’re looking for snow, romance and characters you’d love to know, then be sure to pick up/download a copy of this book.

Moonlight Over Manhattan (From Manhattan with Love #6)
Sarah Morgan

Book Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ❣
Harriet is trying to be more adventurous and is challenging herself to do things she wouldn't normally. 3 dates later she is trying to escape a restaurant out of the bathroom window. Unfortunately, she twists her ankle and ends up visiting the local hospital.

Ethan is a doctor who loves to help people, but when his sister asks him to look after her dog he isn't feeling the same kind of love. He meets Harriet when she enters the ER department and he treats her. Now he needs her help. Harriet already walks Ethan's sister's dog. Ethan needs more than a dog walker and convinces Harriet to take a bigger role.

This book is sweet, lovable and a perfect winter read to give you the warm fuzzies.

Moonlight Over Manhattan is the second book in this series I have read. They can all be read as standalone novels. Holiday in the Hamptons is Harriet's twins story (Felicity).

4.5 stars out of 5. A sweet romance that made me smile.

Paperback £5.59, Kindle price £4.49. 384 pages

I really enjoy Sarah Morgan books. They are lightweight, easy to read and lots of fun. It's also nice to come across some of the characters from her previous books. A nice romantic read.
