A very emotion read and one which I enjoyed, but left me frustrated with the lead character Charlotte and I wanted to shake her at times and tell her to "get real". Ben seemed a lovely fiance and one that would understand and I wished she had shared her lump news earlier.
The whole adopted route was interesting, but felt a bit contrived too, and I did not fully buy into it.

This is a lovely story about a woman who rethinks her future as she looks into her past. Charlotte looks for her bio family and examines her life with Ben after a lump is found in her breast. Thoughtful and good characters.

Really enjoyable read. Good characters and a Good story. Well worth a read. Think others will enjoy.

This was a light yet highly emotional read. After a cancer scare, Charlotte Evans realises how little she knows about her birth parents. Faced with the heartache she could cause her adoptive mother, along with her fiance Ben, Charlotte has to make certain decisions. And when she receives a shocking diagnosis, Charlotte's life - which just days before was full of house decorating, wedding plans and hopes for the future - is turned upside down.
This book touches on some sensitive issues (adoption, cancer) yet still remains a light-hearted, positive read. The only issue I had with it is that I felt Charlotte's friend was talked into keeping the baby she initially didn't want - as though her feelings didn't matter. I guess that's just a personal thing, but it irked me. But overall, this was a great book.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. This is a very emotional and thought provoking book. This had me bawling my eyes out.

Well wasn't that a roller coaster! Its certainly not one to read in public unless you want everyone asking you why you are crying!! I found it pretty difficult to read, I think as you get older you worry more and more about finding a lump and who knows how we would each handle this epic bombshell in our lives. It was a taxing read for me and I felt very invested in the story and felt for her so much. I had to read a more chilled out fun book after this one! Brilliant writing and would certainly read more by this author. Thank you so so much for letting me read it copy.

Everything in life is perfect for Charlotte - she is marrying the man of her dreams, her best friend, and she is running her own business, a dance studio - and then she finds a lump in her breast! Suddenly everything changes and one thing that she can't get out of her mind is that every doctor she sees asks the same question - is there any history of cancer in the family - Charlotte is adopted she doesn't know.
Charlotte becomes obsessed with genetics and family history - she loves her mother but why did her real mother abandon her - and so decides that she needs to find her birth mother and get the answers but how much will this impact on her wedding which is only 8 weeks away
A good story although I did find Charlotte a bit frustrating at times......I would have thought it fairly obvious why a 15 year old girl would give a baby up for adoption, however hard it was for them..........and I always find the adoption issues interesting as both my brother and sister were adopted but neither tried to find their birth families - overall though definitely worth reading

I enjoyed this book - an emotional tale of love, families, secrets and lies and about finding out who you really are. The book deals sensitively with the subjects of breast cancer and adoption. It is well written and has characters who are easy to identify with. It is heartbreaking in places, but ultimately heartwarming.
This is the first of Louisa's books that i have read and I look forward to reading more.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Emotional and beautiful. Happy and sad at the, same time. Made me wonder more about the worries you have when you don't know your family history

Enjoyable, interesting and yet left me with an uncomfortable feeling throughout the whole of the book. The author has an easy writing style but I just wanted to shake Charlotte and tell her to step up and deal with things as a grown-up!! Has all the elements of a good book but I felt there was a lack of oomph ... an interesting read and would be good for a book club discussion
3.5*

I am a real 'anything goes' reader and this was a book I picked expecting it to be a nice, easy read. However Louisa George managed to absolutely captivate me into the world of Charlotte Evans! I can empathise with the character in so many ways and it has really pushed every emotional button I have and made me reflect in a different way.
Worth every penny to read this book and would highly recommend it!!
