After reading the first book in the series, "A Taste of Italy", I knew that this is going to be series that I won't want to miss, so as soon as I spotted "A Taste of Spain" on NetGalley, I immediately downloaded it, and guys, I was not disappointed. This second novella is even better than the first one, and it left me glowing in its warmth, sincerity and down - to - earthness. It was really lovely, quick read and I am already looking towards book 3.

I was almost certain that all of the books will focus on the characters already introduced to us in "Italy", so it was a kind of surprise to see that Trish is a brand new character, who - at the beginning - has nothing to do with the Cookery Club. Gah. There was a moment that I was sure that I am reading a wrong book somehow but fortunately, quickly, Connie entered the scenes and I felt home again. Saying it, I don't mean that I don't like Trish or something, because on the opposite, I loved her.
Connie is working at the village shop, blogging and writing articles for a very popular magazine, Melody is soon to be a mum and Kate is still overwhelmed with her family. Trish comes with a very moody teenager, an ex - husband and all the problems it involves. I really, really liked how Trish was growing, how strong she was, even despite the problems with Amber, and how she stood her ground, especially when it came to her husband suggesting she should tell Amber she's going to have a step - sibling.

Of course, there are again some mouth - watering descriptions of food. Don't read this book when you're hungry. Or on diet. Really. Only a good advice. Then there is this lovely, warm overwhelming feeling of friendship, acceptation, support - the girls welcomed Trish to their circle so quickly and easily. All the characters were so true to life and relatable, with all their problems, troubles and moments of happiness.

It is a heart - warming story about friendship, re - building relationships, finding the courage. It is filled with all the ups and downs of usual, everyday life but this only makes it much more forthcoming, realistic and genuine. Written in a very vivid way, this story delivers on each level, and I am sure everyone is going to find something they can relate to. Truly recommended!

Connie, Kate and Melody are back in their lovely Cotswold cookery club - Eleanor has gone abroad and so Connie is managing the shop for her, Melody is now pregnant and Kate is still juggling her busy life as a vet with looking after her children

Trish is a single mum with a great daughter Amber and when she meets Connie in the shop she is invited to join the cookery club, being shy she is quite nervous about it but her love of cookery wins out and so she goes and loves it.

Another lovely story with great characters - it is lovely to be back with the ones that we met in the first book - especially Eric the greyhound - and I am really looking forward to the next instalment!

5☆ A Fun feel good read, yummy delights, romance, friendship, humour, a beautifully written Page Turner.

The Cotswold Cookery Club - A Taste of Spain is the second book in the series.
Although both books can be read as standalone books.
My personal opinion is to read both books in order.
Book 1 sets the scene for the Cookery Club, and there are references in this book that relates to the stories and characters formed in Book 1.

I was so excited to be returning to the Cotswolds I couldn't wait to delve right in.

The story is jam packed full of old and new friendships, love interests, affairs, new beginnings, fun, teen angst, humour, emotion and of course scrumptious food that will leave your tummy rumbling and pages turning.

Oh and not to forget the sassy t-shirts that appear throughout the book. They made me laugh alot, in fact I could see myself wearing a few of them like...
'I don't know why I bother' and
'Whatever' and 'Welcome to my world'... got to love a sarcastic T-shirt!

I was so glad to meet back up with the Cookery Club to see what fun Antics was in store this time round and I wasn't disappointed!

Connie, Kate and Melody are back.
When Book 1 (A taste of Italy) ended we see the forth member Eleanor leaving to go live abroad, handing the shop over to Connie to look after.
Melody is pregnant & Kate (The Vet) is still running around like crazy after her kids.

Ok so seeing as there is an opening for another member of the Cookery Club what better person to join them.... than Trish the newest resident in the village.

Trish and Amber are the newest characters and I have to say I adored them both.
Trish has recently become a single mum to  Amber, after her hubby Ian had an affair with a younger women Chloe (it screams midlife crisis to me).

Trish comes across as vulnerable, shy, not very confident but her passion for cooking shines through.
So when Trish meets Connie at the shop, when she enquired about the paper round job for Amber. They get talking about the Cookery Club and Connie invites Trish along to their next meet.

Trish is really apprehensive at first as she doesn't think she will be good enough or that she won't fit in.
But she finally plucks up the courage to go and she has the best time ever.
The girls are so warm and friendly they immediately make Trish feel at ease.

Amber was one of my favourite characters.
At 15 years of age she is a typical teen. Full of Sass, awkward attitude towards her parents, her parents embarrass her, nothing is ever right, good enough, or her fault!
Well that is until she meets Miguel Sanchez, she is head over heels for him.
Miguel seems to have a calming influence over Amber. Which has a positive impact on her.

It was so lovely to watch Amber mature into a delightful young lady.
I loved watching her relationship with Miguel blossom, it warmed my heart.

In fact it was so lovely to watch Trish also embrace her new found freedom and her confidence blossom. It was very empowering to see her stand up for herself and become independent.

Watching Trish and Amber's relationship had me in fits of laughter. The playful banter between Mother and Daughter was so relatable. I could see me and my Mum, especially cooking and meal times.

Alice Ross has succeeded again at making me fall in love with the Cookery Club.
I really feel as though I am a member of this exclusive club, I know the girls that well.

The chapters are nice and short, perfect for keeping the readers attention.
Easy to follow story line that kept me reading till the early hours.

I really loved reading this book. It was relatable, loveable real characters, heart warming, compelling, it had some sensitive/serious issues (which were handled with care), it was fun, a sprinkle of romance, lots of banter and Sass, it made me laugh out loud and made my belly rumble.

I can't wait for the next instalment.
This series just keeps getting better and better!

One thing I would of loved to have seen accompanying this book, would be a few of the Amazing recipes inside. So that we too can experience the scrumptious delights featured.

Would I recommend this book...... 100%......... YES!!!!

Perfect read for lovers of Chick Lit, food Romance, Humour, Fun, Friendship.

Absolutely loved this story and can't wait to read more from this series.
Most of us can relate to Trish and her daughter.
It shows how important it is to pick yourself up and get back out there if you have a cheating husband like Trish, not that I do.
This story was well written, I just could not put it down

This is the second book of the Cotswolds Cookery Club series and is set around new character Trish and her struggles at brining up teenager Amber whilst dealing with a breakup from ex-husband Ian. To be honest, this isn't something I was expecting - a completely new character. I know it sounds silly because it's in the synopsis (but it's not on Goodreads which is where I look up most of my books) and before I read the synopsis I just imagined it would be based around last ones characters.

Not complaining though, as Trish's story is very interesting. Trish is struggling with teenage daughter Amber (and I really hope that when I have kids and they reach their teenage years that they're not like that!) and the news that ex-husband just broke to her. Trish's story was one that I wanted to find out more on, and I couldn't put my Kindle down!

After reading the first one in the series, I simply couldn't wait for this one. My mouth was watering throughout the book, the meals that they create sounds simply delightful and not for the first time I wanted to be part of the Cookery Club! I found that the characters of the Cookery Club all gelled together really well and it made me feel as though I was there and a part of that club.

I found that nearer the end of the book, things really got heated and there was a lot of drama to take on board! This made me glue myself to my Kindle until I finished it because I was so eager to find out how it ended! One thing I will say, is that I found the book over so quickly. I was enjoying it so much that it was a rather abrupt ending and I was disappointed it was over! I feel like there could have been so much more of a storyline with Trish and Steve - but having said that, I'm sure we'll learn a little more about their relationship in number 3! One I simply cannot wait for!

Overall, an enjoyable read that I didn't want to end. Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for a chance to read this book, which I have reviewed honestly.

I was not really impressed with this book. I loved the setting and the story, a woman, Trish, dealing with divorce and a bratty teenage daughter while trying to get on with her life. For me the writing just fell flat, the characters were two dimensional and boring. I was hoping for some great descriptions of the food but all I got was ingredient lists. This one just was not for me.

Trish Ford is struggling to find her own life while catering to the whims of her teenage daughter and having to cope with her ex-husband’s revelation his 27-year-old girlfriend is expecting. Her salvation unexpectedly comes in the form of the Cotswolds Cookery Club where she finds support and friendship whilst indulging her passion for cooking. I did find Trish’s daughter and her generally being a doormat to be really irritating but I guess that was the point of the story.

Really enjoyed book 2 of the series, well written and I felt involved in the characters and their lives. Look forward to the next!

I read this book in just a few hours, I thought that it was a very easy read, not long enough, for my usual 400 pages +, but I think that it was concise and much more would have been dragged out using the short plot.
I would recommend this for a holiday read.

After having read “The Cotswolds Cookery Club – Italy” it was lovely to be back with Connie and her friends for a taste of Spain. I always enjoy revisiting much-loved characters, and meeting new ones at the same time. Connie is now looking after a friend’s shop whilst she’s travelling, and recruits newcomer Trish to the cookery club. There are happy endings for some, and unfinished business for others, so I’m really looking forward to some French-themed shenanigans in the final book in this trilogy! Highly recommended :)

This is a charming little book if a light, easy read is what you want. My only complaint is that it's obviously part of a series, so it just sort of ends, without a real resolution.

A Taste of Spain is #2 in The Cotswolds Cookery Club series but it is easily a stand alone book. I have not read #1, A Taste of Italy, but have added it to my TBR list. A Taste of Spain is a charming story of friendships formed through a cooking club. From page one, I was transported into the life of Trish, suddenly single again at 40 and her only solace is cooking. It's only when she starts saying yes to things that she opens a whole new life for herself.

So enjoyable, I finished this in one day. The Spanish dishes they cook had my mouth watering. I only wish the recipes were included. Looking forward to reading the complete series.

Set in the Cotswolds and imbued with a serious dose of English charm, three of the ladies from the cookery club return. Connie is still blogging, now writing articles for a magazine about the club, and managing the newsagent’s shop while Eleanor is off in Spain with Kate’s dad. Still staying at Anna’s house in Little Bidington, and accepting of the greyhound Eric’s many phobias. Melody is soon to be a mum, Kate is still frazzled and overwhelmed even as the fissures are starting to show.

Into this group arrives Trish with a moody and unstable teen, a recent divorce and a new child coming, due to her ex’s adultery. Trish has always been one who waits for the other shoe to drop: and unfortunately the whole department dropped on her at once. With a fractured and fractious relationship with her daughter Amber, her willingness to people-please to the discounting of her own desires and needs. Her life centers around making Amber happy, rising above the hurt to deal with her ex and fob off his attempts to have her be the “bad guy’ in sharing HIS baby news, and alieving her anger with chopping, pulverizing and preparing different dishes, she’s in a rut. But with Amber’s sudden interest in a paper route in the town of Little Bidington, Trish goes to the newsagent’s to meet the proprietor and allay her own concerns. And here she meets Connie, learns about the Cookery club and is offered an invite to the next meeting.

With Eric appearing in flight at each ring of the doorbell, the support and friendship offered to Trish is something she desperately needed, and the common thread of the club, and Connie’s friendship in particular help her to feel a part of something. While things with Amber are often tricky and treacherous, visits with Connie at the newsagents, repeated flirty comments from a delivery man, and a particularly electric interaction between Trish and a regular customer, Steven which sets her tongue in knots.

Deceptively simple and surprisingly complex, Trish’s growth and path to finding her feet again in new situations is buoyed and while serious questions arise, Trish’s own new sense of self helps her to make choices that, while scary, reinforce this new phase in her life. Along with gaining the new friends of the Cookery Club, she is realigning and redefining her relationships with her ex-husband and daughter. With stories from the characters continuing to grow and evolve, and more being shared in the close confines of the cooking evenings, I can’t wait for the next. A pefect supportive-friends story that is full of laughter, growth and common situations: as one of my favorite series of this year, I now want ALL the books from Alice Ross.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

A corker of a book; funny, charming, romantic, heart warming and and jam packed with lovely sounding food.

The story revolves around Trish who lives in the chocolate box village of Cornfield and is getting used to life as a single mother to 15 year old Amber. Her ex husband Ian was the perfect cliche, and left her for his 26 year old pa who's also pregnant. Trish decides she needs a life of her own to get her ex completely out of her system, and get her life out of the rut it's in!

She ends up meeting some new friends - Connie, Kate and Melody - all members of The Cotswolds Cookery Club. The club is working their way around the cuisines of the world. They've covered Italy, now Spain, and next up is France, but definitely no frogs legs!

Trish starts going along to the club and rejoices in people who appreciate her love of cooking, but also the boost it gives to her self esteem and the new friendships she's forging. Not to forget the charming and sexy Steve she keeps bumping into at the newsagents. Yet just when she thinks her life has taken a turn for the better, a curve ball is thrown her way by her ex...

The Cotswolds Cookery Club is told in three parts, a Taste of Spain is part two. Each part can be read as a standalone book, concentrating on different characters.

I loved the blossoming friendships between Trish and her new friends and the gorgeous Steve. The food descriptions were mouth watering scrumptious sounding! Honey drenched pestinos, Sardines en Escabeche, piminento tartlets, patatas bravas, pan de Cebada, churros.....

The storyline is sweet, infused with witty comments and humour and easy to read, so ideal for when you want a refreshingly light and somewhat breezy book to relax with.

Alice Ross is an author to look out for if you enjoy chick lit that is funny, romantic, and with wonderful descriptions of food and places that give you that lovely warm feeling.

I can't wait to embark on another culinary journey and read the third part, next time to experience some tasty delights from France.

With thanks to NetGalley and HQ Digital, for the opportunity to read this ARK in return for an honest and unbiased review.

The Cotswolds Cookery Club: A Taste of Spain, is the second of three books in this series by Alice Ross. The first book, The Cotswolds Cookery Club: A Taste of Italy, was a great way to start this delicious series. As with the first book, the recipes these women create will have your mouth watering! It would be wonderful if the author would include some of the recipes at the end of the third book, The Cotswolds Cookery Club: A Taste of France.

Ten months ago, Trish Ford was informed by her husband, Ian, that he was leaving her for his twenty-five-year-old asistant. Needless to say, life has not been the same since. Her daughter, Amber, has become the typical teenager...difficult to please and difficult to feed. She tells Trish that she wants to do a paper round, so Trish drives to the local newsagent to inquire about the job. As she walks into the store, the first thing she notices is the wonderful aroma of food, and then she meets Connie. Connie offers her a cup of tea, and the two sit down to talk. Connie explains the details of the paper round, and they continue to talk, which eventually leads to talking about the cookery club. The cookery club is a small group consisting of Connie, Kate, Melody, and Eleanor. Since Eleanor has moved to Spain, they are looking for a replacement, and Connie feels Trish would be a perfect addition to the group. Trish hesitates at first, but then decides to take Connie up on the offer. Trish soon finds out this was one of the best decisions she ever made.

The story that unfolds is filled with the ups and downs of everyday life, but through it all, is this small group of women that are not only friends, but also a great support for one another. These women were brought together by their shared love of cooking, but each ended up with so much more...amazing friendships that will last a lifetime. These are characters that are true to life, and are extremely relatable. I loved seeing Trish grow as the story continues, and I especially loved seeing her gain that confidence she lost when her marriage ended. Despite all of the difficulties she's facing in her life, she never once loses her wonderful sense of humor.

Overall, this is a book, and series, that I strongly recommend reading. Each is extremely well-written with characters you will love. The author is very descriptive, and will have you wishing you could be there to try these amazing recipes the women create. In addition to being about family and friendship, there is also a taste of romance in the air as well. These are heartwarming, feel good stories. I thoroughly enjoy being able to catch up with each character, and I am looking forward to seeing what will happen in the third book. With that being said, I must admit that I will be sad to see this series come to an end.

I would like to thank HQ Digital and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book. My views are my own and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

After finishing the first book 'A taste of Italy' I could not wait to get reading this next part! My expectations where very high and A taste of Spain did not let me down!

This time the book is based on new character Trish. She is in desperate need for a pick me up, something to make her feel good about herself again and after being introduced to Connie she finds herself invited to the local Cookery Club, unsure about whether to go she gives it ago and we start to see her come out of her shell and gain so much more confidence in herself and being a single mother.

The delicious recipes that the Cookery Club cooks up throughout the book leave your mouth watering.

I have said it before and I will say it again - This is the most delightful series and I just love it. Everyone will read The Cotswold Cookery with a huge grin on their face, its a real feel good series.

Oh, I loved this book. It was a great quick read, in which I cannot wait to read more from this author. I am a foodie myself and love collecting recipes from family and friends. I would love to be involved in a cookery club just like in the book. The author does a great job of letting us get to know each character not just the main one Connie. I am looking forward to reading more from this series as it progresses.

Trisha is living the ultimate cliche, her husband has left her for his much younger, bustier assistant, who is now pregnant. Trish is left with a whiny teenage daughter who blames her mother for everything, luckily she has met a new circle of friends, who have a cooking club, where they can cook, sip wine and enjoy time without men. This is a sweet little series that I enjoy not only because of the foodie aspect, but because the women in it are perfectly capable of surviving without a man. More emphasis on girl power than romance and I love it

This was a lovely return to the cookery club. Trish was the new member to join in with the Spanish theme.
After splitting with her husband and having teenage hormones rampaging all over her house , she is pleased to have an excuse to spend time with the other ladies and they soon become firm friends.
It's such a wonderful idea, to have themed nights with a bunch of friends to share confidences and a glass or two of wine.
These books leave you with a lovely warm feeling of friendship with the hint of romance in the air aswell. I can't wait to read the last book in the series and will be sad to leave the cookery club members behind.
