I will be honest, the sex scenes for these two were VERY awkward to read. I don't think I would want to hear about how my grandparents or parents would have sex so reading it is kind of gross. But other than that it was a really cute story. I loved Simon and Lou. They were adorable and I loved it.
I found this book a hard one to review. I enjoyed the storyline (centering as it does around an adopted woman who is unaware of her adoption), and was happy to read on to discover the conclusion of the story. The depiction of life in the 1950s for unmarried mothers was also interesting.
However, there were some elements I found a little clumsy in style. The conversation in particular I found unrealistic and almost "clunky" in its content. In addition, the use of place names familiar to the author was over-done and seemed to intrude on the flow of the story.
I'm sorry to leave a review with negative elements, but hope that the publishers would rather an honest appraisal?
