What a super book for early readers. This book is suitable for lower Key Stage 2 and would appeal to both boys and girls. This is the 1st Geronimo Stilton book I've read but have had children in class read others many times.
I loved the humour and the inclusion of real-life Egyptian facts mingled in with the silly story was appealing. I would recommend.

I found this book a little tedious to read. My child lost interest before the halfway point and I understand because it seemed to drone on at times and didn't quite flow well enough to keep interest in even me. The concept is great, I just don't think it was executed well.

Absolutely adorable and funny. Geronimo Stilton gets caught up in a crazy fun adventure. Such a great book, every time I pick one of these books it's like coming home and returning to my childhood!

I asked my six year-old-daughter, the a member of the demographic audience for her thoughts, and this is what she had to say:

Me: You finished the new Geronimo Stilton? What'd you think?
"It seemed familiar. I think I had already read it"

Indeed, she had! It's a re-release of the second in the series, but with updated cover art and publisher.

Me: What was your favorite part?
"I liked it when they rehired everyone and sent Grandpa Shortpaws away"

Grandpa was quite the villain. He sold... well... read it and see how mean he was.

Me: What did you like the least?
"I didn't like it when the professor hit his head and lost his memory because he tool a long time to remember and didn't remember Geronimo or his cool experiment."

My children are big fans of the Geronimo Stilton book series, so I was quite excited to be able to read and review a copy of The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid. The book was enjoyable and fun to read. The illustrations are fantastic. I think it's safe to say that elementary school children will enjoy this Stilton book just as much as the others in the series!

I read quite a bit of this series a few years ago when I was a nanny and I loved it. Thanks to Netgalley I decided to revisit it and do a true review. My initial impression stands: These are excellent books for kids starting into chapter books. Not only was it a fun and cute read, there is actually quite a bit of history in the book. It may be a bit difficult for a kid to differentiate between fact and fiction but it's great for opening up the door to discussion on ancient Egypt. Also if the parents reassembled the book with the child, they can teach them the "tells" this series uses to know fact from fiction; mainly that they alter names to include mouse, rodent or rat amongst other terms like that. The factual information tends to retain the correct names so kids can secretly learn while they read a cute adventure series. This is definitely one of the better ones in the genre.

In The Curse of Cheese Pyramid another wonderful adventure lived by Genonimo Stilton.
This time the Rodent's Gazette and the same Geronimo experience a stressing moment.

Geronimo is in fact taken "prisoner" by his grandfather.

The grandfather of Geronimo has clear ideas: his nephews is spending too much. He takes taxi for going to work, he loves to give work at some people at the Rodent's Gazette. No way! He fires all the rest of mouse working in the newsroom and Geronimo is devastatingly alone because of all these changes.

Living with his grandfather a real depression. What to do?

His grandfather takes a decision considering that his nephew loves to travel and writing great books about these trips: Geronimo will fly to Egypt! Leaving: NOW!!! insists his grandfather.

Funny adventures, with a long description of the trip and another memorable adventure waiting Geronimo and at the end who knows? Maybe we will see again his grandfather crying and complaining at his return.

This is the second book in the Geronimo Stilton series. It is funny, entertaining but also educational.

Geronimo strikes again! The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid was a fun exploration into Egypt through the eyes of Geronimo. I loved how the family worked together to get back the paper while still learning to spend less. Fun story for early readers.

A big thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for my honest review. First time reading this author. The drawings are super cute in this book. Wasn't sure what age group it's intended for. Grandpa is a bully and I don't condone that-even if he is your relative. Why doesn't't he say NO. So I have mixed feelings and I didn't really find it funny but everyone is different. I did like the ending.

This must be a re-release, because my kids had both read this book several years ago. However, it still holds the same appeal....it is what I would term a high-interest / low-level book...meaning that it's appealing to older children who may struggle with reading. The onomatopoeia of the written words makes this series a visually-unique one. As we are currently studying Egypt, it was a fun read for my elementary and middle school aged boys.

Geronimo is the best series ever. I wish I could meet him. Geronimo should do a school tour!
