It Started With A Tweet follows Daisy who practically shares her entire life online, but when one tweet goes wrong she finds herself miserable and so her sisters whisks her off to the country on a digital detox. I read this book in one sitting. Ironically to go with the theme of this book, it was addicting to read. Daisy was such a fun but incredibly real and relatable character and we shared many traits. I loved the concept of this book and how it managed to be both endearing and hilarious at the same time.

I loved the relationship between Daisy and her sister and the other characters in this book who were equally interesting. But whilst this was #relatable and super cute, it dealt with a deeper issue of technology and the role it plays in our lives and makes you second guess uploading that photo of your lunch on instagram. One of my favourite reads this year and now I really want to go on a digital detox myself!

When I first started reading this book I thought it wasn't one for me but I got to about a quarter of the way in to the book and it really picked up - I am so pleased that I did as it turned out to be a really enjoyable read. Overall it was well written, had good characters and the storyline was excellent as soon as it picked up, It would have been a 5 star read for me if it hadn't been let down slightly by the storyline at the beginning but more than happy to give the book four stars - and if anyone else starts reading it and feels the same - I definitely encourage you to carry on reading!!

Thank you Netgalley and Bonnier Zaffre for providing me with a copy of this wonderful book. I really enjoyed this story as it was funny, warm and so true. I loved the accuracy of the social norms that are now plaguing our society. Everywhere you go people staring at phones instead of looking at the people next to them. Meeting up for coffees/lunches and then scrolling through the internet instead!
The slow build romance between Jack and Daisy was a sweet aspect to the story. I really loved the realistic bond between the sisters Daisy and Rosie. I just loved everything about this book, and quickly finished whatever chores got in the way, so I could get back to the story.
I would have loved a little more romance between Jack and Daisy, but overall a lovely story.

I’m sure we’ve all done it. We’ve gone to post something on Facebook or Twitter and then just before you hit the big red button you realise you’re posting on the wrong account or posting to the wrong person. Luckily we usually manage to stop ourselves before we’ve gone past the point of no return! Unlike poor old Daisy!!

Daisy is a marketing manager. She is also addicted to social media – Facebook, twitter, tinder….you name it, she’s probably got an account on it. Unfortunately, whilst on the tinder date from hell, Daisy makes a huge social media faux pas. Her sister Rosie, thinks it’s time for Daisy to have some time out on the old Social Media front and whisks her away to the middle of the Lake District for some digital detoxing. Rosie takes Daisy’s phone, puts it in a bucket and lowers it down to the bottom of an old well – and then cuts the rope! For Daisy, this is the stuff that nightmares are made of……no phone, no internet and just her and her sister.

This was just such a funny book!! It was also a book that made me think I’m just like Daisy! I’m not just like her, in fact I think I am her!! My phone is always near me, I go crazy without being able to check my emails, bank or Facebook. How can I download books onto my kindle without my Wi-Fi!!! Also like Daisy, I think you would have to render me unconscious to get my internet enabled devices off of me! It also got me thinking that perhaps it would be good to have a digital detox and start to begin to appreciate the simpler things in life – like looking up at the stars or the view from the top of a hill!

Daisy eventually begins to do these things, but not without lots of mishaps along the way. The book has had me laughing out loud (or should it be LOL’ing) in so many places that you just wouldn’t believe. The rough and ready Jack and the sophisticated Alexis are just perfect comedy partners for Daisy. The picture of Daisy in the makeshift shower with Buster the Dog chasing after a pigeon comes straight out of a film!!

I have read a few of Anna’s books before, but this definitely has been the funniest that I’ve read. A great storyline, very modern and surely everyone can relate it in some way, shape or form! If you love your chick-lit or romantic comedies then this is certainly the book for you! #youreallyneedtoreadthis #funnyfunnyfunny #espadrillesandmuddontmix

There were a lot of parts of this story I really liked. Daisy's relationships with her friends and sister were interesting and realistic. I found Daisy herself to be very unlikable. She seemed very childish at times, and her obsession with social media seemed like something she felt she had no choice in. Overall the romance was funny and intriguing but I found it hard to stay engaged with Daisy on her own.

It stated with a tweet by Anna Bell a fab four-star read. I will be honest I had to start this one three times, I don’t know why I just couldn’t get into it, but I am so glad I stuck with it as once I had gotten past the first few chapters I loved it. Daisy was someone I adored from the first page to the last, even though I could have throttled her numerous times. But I couldn’t help but love her at the times that she was doing crazy stuff without even realising it. I could especially identify with the tweet being sent from the wrong account, I could feel the pain. (Done something similar a ime or two myself) Daisy seemed to get herself mixed up in stuff without even realising it. We could all do with learning to disconnect from our phones as well I think. Jack was easily my fave character, he just seemed to have feet that were the perfect size to suck on as they belonged in his mouth so often, it made him totally adorable.
If you are in the mood for something to sink your teeth into and really enjoy then this is the one for you, keep at it past the first few chapters and you will have a ball!! You may love it all, it may have just been me!! Read this great story, you won’t be disappointed.

Really enjoyed this book. I have read a couple of others by this author and it stood up well. I think I may be on the outer edge of her target market as I had to ask my teenage daughter what some of the terminology meant!
I enjoyed the book most after Daisy's detox start and found her early days of the detox really funny. Would definitely recommend the book. Thank you for allowing me to read a preview copy

I think most people are guilty of spending a bit to much time on there phones so think most people will find a bit if themselves in this book. Although entertaining I felt it was missing something found myself drifting off at times

Pretty cute. Daisy was a great character, the first half was funny, and I enjoyed the sisters' relationship. However, Jack could have used some major character development and Alexis was completely pointless. There was so much potential for comedy surrounding the village residents but that was never realized.
