I am so sad to be giving a negative review of this book, but I just didn't like it - in fact, I didn't even finish it- I got 30% of the way through it and it was making my toes curl.

I didn't like Gemma, I could tell that she was lying about losing her purse and her passport and got angry with Benedict for not being mature enough to know that she was lying from the minute she arrived.

I also felt uncomfortable with the scene where Benedict goes to deliver Estelle's paintings back to her dressed as Romeo - it was sooo cringy it made my toes curl.

I am so sorry, I am not a keyboard warrior sitting here slagging off another person's hard work, as I understand how hard, time consuming and difficult it is to write a novel, and it must be crushing to get a horrible review, but I hope you can see that I am just be honest and open.

In another moment, another time, I probably would have loved this book, but sadly on this occasion, it wasn't for me.

Sorry.

Benedict Stone is a jeweller in a quiet country village, as was his father before him. Benedict’s marriage is going through a rocky patch, so the last thing he needs is a teenage niece he’s never met turning up on his doorstep. Together, the unlikely duo work to win Benedict’s wife back. Wishes Under the Willow Tree is an enjoyable, easy read, and as added bonus, you’ll learn a little about gem stones along the way.

A feel good story that I easily read in a couple of sittings. I haven't read anything else by the author before, but will definitely be looking at more.

A beautifully, quiet story.
Benedict is not happy but he is settled. It is the arrival of his young niece that brings change and makes him realise what is important.
Lovely.

once again i find myself reading books by authors i know nothing about.... but it opens my mind. so here we go.
I enjoyed the stpryline and the characters and the story was easy to follow and it turned pages relatively quick...
The main character is Bendict stone, he owns his own jewellery store and one night alone he hears noises at the door and it turns out to be his young 16year old neice. Gemma says that the family have sent her there from USA and they come to an arrangement with each other that she may stay if she helps out in the store hes running. The aim in this is WEB..... WIN Estelle Back... thats all he wants.

Bernard is a jeweller whose marriage to Estelle is unravelling and into the equation comes his niece Gemma who had her own problems. Beautifully crafted tale of love, preventions and the use of hem stones to right the villagers problems. Bernard has to face his overeating and accept his childlessness and win back his wife. Also the Stone family’s tradition of hanging gem stones becomes more important when Gemma begins to read her Grandfather’s notebook on their powers. Things are given a shakeup . A magical read!

This book was really touching and I loved it. It tells the story of Benedict and his wife Estelle(Who has moved out and he is trying t win back). Benedict has lost his love for life a bit and is trying to fix his marriage with this wife Estelle. He then gets an unexpected visitor, which prompts him into action. It helps him face things in the past which he would rather not have. I enjoyed every bit of this book and would highly recommend it. This is a truly lovely story about marriage, family and acceptance.

I wasn't too sure what to think as I started reading this book. Benedict initially was a tricky character to get to know properly.

However it didn't take long and for Gemma's arrival to liven everything up and make this into a very a interesting story,

I loved all the different meanings of the gemstones, and how Ben and Gemma used them to help people in the little village.

I loved the idea of the Stone willow tree and generally found this to be a very gentle but delightful story to read.

I ended up really liking Ben as he developed and changed during the book, and Gemma was a bit of an enigma too.

A fabulous book from an author I am growing to like more and more with each release.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I really enjoyed this book. It was light and easy and in the end quite charming.

It follows the tale of Benedict and Estelle , a married couple who have recently split up due to the pressures of trying to have a baby and Estelle moves out to get some space.

Benedict is a jewellry maker and has his own shop in the small village he lives in by the Yorkshire Moors. Both of his parents died and Benedict and his brother Charlie have not spoken in almost 20 years. One morning there is a knock on the door and in comes Gemma, his 16 year old niece that Ben didnt know existed and she announces that her dad knows where she is and she has come to stay to learn more about her history and to get to know her uncle better. Gemma is not quite telling the truth but she changes Benedicts life in ways he can never imagine.

A very sweet story with a surprising ending.

This is a gem of a book! I really enjoyed this book. It is an easy read which held me captivated the whole way through. I read it in one sitting. Benedict and Estelle are having problems with their marriage. When Benedict's niece arrives unannounced from the States their lives are changed forever. This is a beautifully written story. Benedict's work with gems and his niece's love of them is very cleverly and wonderfully interwoven into the story. This is a feel good story that I would definitely recommend.

Set in a small village in Yorkshire, Benedict Stone is still struggling to come to terms with his wife moving in with a friend when his 16 year old niece turns up on his doorstep. After falling out with his brother some 18 years before, he was unaware of her existence. Having a slightly unruly teenager move in with him happens to be the kick up the bum that Benedict needs to get his life back on track, along with a little help from some gemstones.

A very easy little read - I did enjoy 'Wishes Under the Willow Tree' but I didn't find it to be particularly exciting. It was quite sweet and could easily fall into the 'heartwarming' category, however. Most of the story is predictable, but the characters are likeable and although the storyline didn't necessarily excite me, it did interest me.

Benedict Stone runs a jewellery store in a small town but has lost faith in his work and himself. His wife has left him and he has no idea how to get her back. Then one night he gets a surprise visitor who turns his life around but she has secrets of her own. Can she and Benedict figure both their problems out together.

Oh I loved this story so much. It's such a feel good read and so lovely. Benedict start out rather grumpy but we soon get to know him and feel for him. Gemma was an intriguing character.

I also loved all the references to the various gemstones, it was a fascinating addition to the story. The plot was simple yet sweet. It draws you in and keeps you reading wanting to know if Benedict can get his happy ending.

This book is very different to my usual thrillers, dystopian, and Sci Fi but I do like to try new genres and I loved this book.its an enchanting tale and it has a real feel good factor, this is the sort of book that you can read if you are feeling a bit jaded and need a book to take your mind off things and make you feel good..It wasn't over soppy it would have put me off it it had been but you were on the side of the main characters and wanted things to work out for them. There were some surprises along the way and even a couple of nail biting moments so it wasn't all plain sailing and I thought it was a lovely book to read it kept my interest and gave me a couple of things to ponder as well as entertaining me, can't ask for more really. Thanks to the Publishers and Netgalley for an ARC in return for an honest review.
