A YA historical romance choose-your-own-adventure book. UM YES PLEASE. I think I liked this one in theory more than the actual novel. I only went through one story, if that says anything, and while I was curious about the other outcomes, I wasn’t so curious as to start over again from the beginning. Still, this was fun while it lasted and my romance (I was on the path to wind up with a Scottish captain), ended with a surprise: I went off traveling the world as a spy.
I really enjoyed the premise of this and it's definitely a unique take on a traditional romance novel. There were some elements that were a bit over the top for me, but overall it was a fun read.
This book was fun! Cute, customizable regency romance. Has several options to switch it up in the middle and choose another path. I spent a good two hours reading through the storylines.
It has a unique premise that executed really well and truly delivered on its fun front. However, it can feel vulgar at times and the plot can be predictable due to the obvious source of inspiration. If you’re looking for a good time, this book is for you, but if you want a liiiitle more substance like me, this book might leave you on the fence.
While the eBook version was hard to navigate, the content was fantastic!I really look forward to seeing it in person. It's nostalgic in a fun way!
Quite fun, but honestly I found the attempts at humour just grated most of the time. Sometimes the language was so ridiculous I had trouble understanding what was even happening. Having an ecopy of this to review may not have helped all that much, as I think the 'choose your own adventure' books work best in physical form, but it was still fun to choose.
I have always been a huge fan of the Choose your own adventure stories. I loved to play the Steve Jackson ones when I was a teenager and was delighted that there was finally one for regency romance.
This was a true delight, I loved going back and choosing different paths. There were so many decisions to make and I found the writing style hilarious as well as riveting.
Excellent. I hope there are going to be more of these!
This is a great idea for a romance novel. One must remember that this is a parody and that some of the stories are quite out there. Overall a great read!
In this book, you can choose from several different storylines as a 28 year old girl in Regency England. As you read through the pages, you have to make many life altering decisions, similar to decisions people had to make in the Regency era. Each storyline contains an unexpected plot, danger, and intrigue. I chose one storyline (with Mac the Scottishman), and once I finished my story I went back through to each of the other ones. The only other storyline I really liked was the one with Benedict, but I was happy I chose Mac in the end. I enjoyed being able to choose my own story and I appreciated how unique the experience was. I didn't like several things: the over the top sexual content, the profanity, and the seemingly contrived diverse storyline. I did find myself laughing many times at the witty dialogue and enjoying the unexpected turns in the story. Overall I thought this book was well written and fun. If you're up for a unique bookish adventure and don't mind the content listed above, you will enjoy this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. A positive review was not required, and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.
This choose your own adventure romance novel is super fun! I don’t normally read romance, so I may have giggled a bit much when things got a little... intense. Also, the two authors do have slightly different writing styles which were evident in more amorous scenes. I’ve only read it through once so far, but enjoyed it enough that I will most likely read it again to choose another path or two in future.
This book was so much fun! Regency romance meets choose-your-own adventure. The book was playful, funny, and offered so many options, including a pairing of two women. I can't wait to finish choosing all the options!
I gave this book 3,5 stars
So first thing first I loved the concept of making your own choices and deciding on the fate of the heroine. It is a very funny read, you have a choice of male/female love interest and I loved the representation. But I didn't love the plot or the plots and sometimes even the writing to give it 5 stars. It's more of a parody on a bunch of different books e.g. Pride and prejudice, Jane Eyre etc. Maybe it was meant to be one, but I couldn't enjoy it very much.
This was so much fun! I found myself smiling and laughing aloud while I was reading. The reader gets to be the main character, and based upon your choices, you get to experience a unique story. One of the best parts of this book is how funny it is, especially when the authors play with common tropes and cliches from romance novels. This is a book I'll read again and again to get a different story each time. Highly recommended!
When I was a kid, lots of my classmates loved choose your own adventure stories. But I didn’t. I wanted a complete story to read, and I didn’t want anything to change from the original. However, I thought I would give this one a try since I love Victorian romances. And I loved it!
There are three directions your story could go. You could choose the brooding Sir Benedict Granville, who is like Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. You could choose Captain Angus McTaggart, who is like Jamie from Outlander. Or you could choose to go on an adventure with the socialite Lady Evangeline. For my review, I followed the path with Angus MacTaggart, also known as Mac.
The story was so entertaining! It had everything from a spy, a faked death, orphans, and a burned down mansion, all of which are aspects that make a great Victorian novel. I loved this story and I was satisfied with the ending. The great thing about this book is that you can read it over and over, following different paths, and end up with different endings. I will definitely be reading this book again!
My Lady's Choosing by Kitty Curran; Larissa Zageris was an interesting premise.
It reminded me so much of those pick your own adventures that I loved as a child.
Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this as much as I remember devouring these type of books as a kid and I couldn't quite seem to immerse myself fully.in the experience.
Granted I have only followed one adventure but I feel this would work better as an actual physical copy rather than an E-Book.
I found tripping back and forth in an E-Book to be incredibly annoying.
This was an interesting idea providing this type of a read for adults but I'm not sure this will actually take off.
Never the less I was intrigued by this type of read and for that reason alone don't discount "My lady's Choosing till you have tried it.
It was different
Thank you To Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of "My Lady's Choosing" of which I have reviewed voluntary.

I loved this book!! I am a big fan of historical romance and it was really cool to be able to choose the character's destiny. With so many different outcomes, this is a book I can return to for years.
The romance novel that lets you pick your path, follow your heart, and find happily ever after
You are the plucky but penniless heroine in the center of eighteenth-century society, courtship season has begun, and your future is at hand. Will you flip forward fetchingly to find love with the bantering baronet Sir Benedict Granville? Or turn the page to true love with the hardworking, horse-loving highlander Captain Angus McTaggart? Or perhaps race through the chapters chasing a good (and arousing) man gone mad, bad, and scandalous to know, Lord Garraway Craven? Or read on recklessly and take to the Continent as the “traveling companion” of the spirited and adventuresome Lady Evangeline? Or yet some other intriguing fate? Make choices, turn pages, and discover all the daring delights of the multiple (and intertwining!) storylines. And in every path you pick, beguiling illustrations bring all the lust and love to life.

Holy cow this book brought me back to the elementary age days where you pick your path in a story and turn the page to see it unfold. I love how interactive it is, so you really become immersed into the story. Plus the added romance is a definite bonus. Another added bonus, this book is absolutely hilarious. I will definitely be buying a physical copy!
Not normally being a romance reader, I wasn’t sure going in if I was going to enjoy this book, though the concept was enough to intrigue me. However the beauty of this title is that it is written in such a way as to appeal to fans of the genre as well as those who are not. The choose your own adventure element made reading this a lot of fun, and allows for a lot of re-readability. Non-romance fans will enjoy the send-ups to the many romance genre tropes, but these are written in such a way that fans of the genre can still enjoy.
Cute idea and occasionally funny execution. I'm not sure if I'm just too old to commit myself fully delightedly to Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books anymore. When I get to my choices, I keep looking for option C, because I wouldn't do any of the options given to me. Not to mention being frustrated that "I" am not all that clever in the book. Plus, there's the deep awkwardness of lines like
"You silently curse both your insatiable thirst for adventure and your burning loins."
And let me say that the context really didn't justify it. I mean, I get that's funny, but I want to actually feel connected to the romantic options my character has, but, though I love the diversity of options, I didn't actually care who "I" ended up with.
I certainly don't begrudge the couple hours of reading, but as with Lost in Austen: Create Your Own Jane Austen Adventure My Lady's Choosing wasn't quite as engrossing and fun as I'd hoped.
Still, this is a good stocking stuffer type present for historical romance readers.
I have read a fair number of romance novels in my time, but this one is by far the funniest and most entertaining!
This adult choose-your-own-adventure book will keep you occupied for ages as you star in your own story and make choice after choice to determine your literary future. Will you end up living in the Highlands, taking care of wartime orphans? Ruling society as a very rich widow? Or maybe running around the Egyptian desert with your lady love? Only you can decide!
With a choice to make at the end of every scene, there are lots of options for where the story can take you. This not only makes "My Lady's Choosing" perfect for multiple reads, but it means that every time you start from the beginning again, you could be reading a completely different story. Tongue-in-cheek romance or not though, somewhere along the way you can always count on stumbling into adventure, danger, and love (or lust) - some of the staples of any self-respecting romance novel.
So, does an unpredictable novel full of twists and turns, tough decisions, and enough secrets and intrigues to satisfy even the most gossipy of debutants appeal to you? If so, turn to Page 1.
If that kind of thing doesn't sound like it would float your boat, turn to Page 1. Just trust me. You won't be disappointed.
