My first book by Suzanne Wright, and it was a lot of fun to read! I loved how she wrote the heroine as badass and not afraid to kick some villain butt. At the same time, she wrote a hero who was also someone who would protect those he loved at all costs, so he was the best partner for the heroine. While this book did get a bit more graphic than I thought was necessary (specifically at the end - if you've read it, you know what I mean), I still really enjoyed reading it! The dynamic between the main characters, as well as the cool world building, really grabbed me and made me want to keep reading.

Gwen Miller has had enough with people attacking innocent weres in her neighborhood, and after finding one young female beaten to within an inch of her life, she makes sure the lowlife who did it is caught. Suddenly finding herself threatened by the boy's wealthy father, she has snagged the attention of a local were pack, particularly a pack enforcer, Zander Devlin. Zander's wolf has always been aloof to other females, but his wary reaction to this woman has Zander wondering if there's more to Gwen than meets the eye. Discovering her secrets takes a back seat to her safety, however, and soon Zander is protecting Gwen at every turn. Not that she needs it - Gwen has weapons of her own, even without claws.

Gwen and Zander were a great power couple, their strengths and weaknesses complimenting each other and creating a really strong duo in the story. Gwen's history was interesting and made her complex and enjoyable. Zander is a dominating were, but he respects Gwen and her ability to hold her own in a fight. While they have some struggles as they get to know each other, they ultimately find that the love they have for each other is much stronger than anything they might need to overcome.

This book was very enjoyable and is recommended to those who like great were-animal stories. With so many books in this genre being published, it's nice to see a book that really creates a unique, engaging world.

Book 3 of the Mercury Pack series is about Zander Devlin and Gwen Miller. Zander is an enforcer of his pack. He's not been too prevalent of a character so far in the series but he has been mention quite a lot. He's just usually in the background of a lot of things but that made him all the more interesting to read about since we got to know him a lot better. Zander is very closed off from pretty much everyone. He doesn't feel or express his emotions in a traditional sense because he didn't have the happiest of childhoods. But when he's called to his uncles will reading he travels to Oregon (I think) and stays at a bed and breakfast. While there he meets Gwen.

Gwen is a human but she's having a lot of problems because she is bringing charges against a human she saw abusing a shifter. No matter how much she's threatened or yelled at she won't back down. She has a very strong character which is a result of her turbulent childhood. When she meets Zander she is immediately intrigued by him since she has always had a fascination with shifters, specifically wolves.

zander keeps his distance from Gwen for a while but when he finds out about all the trouble she's going to for a shifter, he decides to get his alphas permission and stay to protect her. Needless to stay the sparks fly the longer they are around each other and it gets very exciting.

I really enjoyed that this book gave us a different setting than any of the previous books. I liked the new characters introduced and how we got to see some lesser known characters take the front seat for a while. Of course I did miss the pack interaction and some of my favorite pack members but we do get some scenes with them all together. It was just nice to read about a different location and a new set of problems. Granted they are shifter/human problems so not too different than some other books but, as with every book in this series, it was handled differently and you never really knew what was going to happen next.

I love this series and really anything that Wright publishes. She's pretty much an auto-buy for me. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series and seeing what new and interesting storylines she comes up with next.

I thoroughly enjoy this book. Gwen was being harassed by some locals because they had beaten and drugged a shifter girl and she caught them. After reporting them to the shifter council, they kept harassing her in various ways trying to get her to change her mind. Zander was staying at her haunted B&B and stayed to help her. There was quite a bit of action, a reluctant wolf and ghosts. I don't want to give any spoilers away - I'm just saying that you should pick up this book and read it. If you enjoy shifters, hot sex, intrigue, and some HEA, go for it. You will love it.

Zander is one of the quiet pack members, which drew me into his characters and made me want to find out all his secrets. I really liked getting to learn more about him and seeing him when he went all possessive with Gwen. She may not have Shifter strength but she held her own with Zander, and wouldn't let him treat her as a weak human. They had a strong connection from the beginning and their fighting each other only added to it and added some of that much loved sexual tension.
There was a great deal of suspense and action featured as well and it had me on the edge of my seat from page one. This author is one of my favorites and next time someone asks me why I'm just going to point them in the direction of this book.

I am a huge fan of Suzanne Wright's paranormal books, so when I saw Lure of Oblivion on NetGalley I jumped on it right away.

This book is the third one in The Mercury Pack series and although all of them tell a story of a different couple and technically could be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend reading them in order.

In Lure of Oblivion we get the story of Gwen and Zander.
Gwen is human. She witnessed a lone shifter female being assaulted by a teenage boy from her town and now she is going to testify against him before the shifter council. Unfortunately, by going against the boy and his family she puts herself in a huge danger.

Since Gwen is standing against her own kind to get justice for a shifter female, enforcer Zander, who is a guest at Gwen's inn, offers her his help and protection. And that's how their story begins.

I have to say that it was interesting to see how their relationship developed, how their feelings for one another changed with time and how they made it work, despite Gwen being human. They had great chemistry too. I really liked that. I liked them as a couple.

The story itself was full of action and suspense, there was a lot going on and it kept me interested from the very beginning. For me it was another very good book from this author. I just love her writing style, the characters and stories she creates. She is one of my all time favourites. I can honestly recommend not only this book, but all paranormal series by Suzanne Wright.

I absolutely adore Suzanne Wright’s books and to date I have read and enjoyed every book she has released. She is one of my absolute favorite authors and I just adore her characters. I was extremely excited to see that a new book was coming out in her Mercury Pack series and couldn’t wait to get started reading it.

This is the 3rd book in the Mercury Pack series and while each of her books can be read as standalone’s I highly recommend reading the entire series starting with Feral Sins which is book 1 of the Phoenix Pack since the two series are closely intertwined. Lure of Oblivion focuses on the story of Zander one of the Mercury Pack enforcers and Gwen who is a human. This is the first book in these series where one of the main characters was a human so I was really intrigued to find out how everything would turn out.

Zander Devlin was first introduced to us in Carnal Secrets and I must admit that during his initial introduction and throughout the following books he was not one of my favorite supporting characters. In the previous books Zander never really stood out much to me, so I didn’t have any preconceived ideas him or how i thought his story would go. Zander is broody and slightly wounded which is a result of his past but he has a heart of gold and is extremely loyal to those who earn it. Unfortunately, though because of his past it is extremely hard to earn his complete trust. The more I learned about Zander throughout the book, the more I fell in love with his character.

Gwen Miller is a human with a traumatic past. She grew up watching her step father physically abuse her mother until she was sent to live with a foster family. Gwen is a strong female character who is stubborn and stands up for what she believes in. She is used to being the rock for her foster family, but she also has a hard time letting people in and trusting them. Like all of Suzanne Wright’s female characters, Gwen is kickass but still has her vulnerabilities.

The book starts out with us learning about the death of Zanders uncle and him having to go to see a lawyer out of state regarding the will. We also learn more about Zanders history and his family which play a large role in why Zander is the way he is. During this trip Zander and Bracken stay at a Bed & Breakfast owned by Gwen’s family that is reported to be haunted. Gwen had witnessed the violent assault of a shifter on her property and is going to testify against the humans who did it and the family is doing everything in their power to pressure her to change her statement. During their stay at the Bed & Breakfast Zander learns about the troubles Gwen is having and decide to stay and offer her protection. While Zander is attracted to Gwen, his wolf is wary of her which is not something Zander had ever experienced before and is a puzzle to him, a puzzle he wants to solve.

I really enjoyed reading how Zander and Gwen’s relationship progressed. Zander was naturally very protective of Gwen and while she enjoyed not having to be the strong one in the relationship, she also didn’t allow him to walk all over her. Even though Zander was physically stronger as a shifter which lead him to want to constantly protect Gwen she let him know that she was a strong female in her own right and could handle things on her own. Their relationship was give and take where they both respected each other.

In addition, we also got some cameos from some of my favorite characters from the Phoenix and Mercury Packs along with Cain an associate of the Mercury Pack. For some reason I just love the sociopathic shifter and am crossing my fingers that we get his story soon.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would rate it 4 stars. I have to say that is was my second favorite book that involves the Mercury Pack (including Carnal Secrets and Dark Instincts which I consider to be crossover books and part of both series). Zander was a pleasant surprise that I didn’t see coming. This book was funny, had suspense, was emotional and extremely hot, in other words its everything I look for in a good book. I highly recommend this book, series and author to anyone who is looking for a great read.

I recieved an ARC of this book via NetGAlley.

To this day its amaze me, the way some authors have with words. When their carefully crafted tale just resonates with me from the first sentence and Suzanne Wright is one of those authors, who no matter what she writes I love it. However, truthfully I’m more in love with her earlier books and none of her stories hit the mark that Feral sins set, yet. But I read them anway because they are special.

So just to be clear I’m not completley up to date with the Mercury pack series, yet. I’m around halwy trhogh with the Phoenix pack series but it was to good of an opportunity to pass up also the synopsis really got me in this case. The beauty of this story is that you can perfectly enjoy it just as much without reading the previous ones. Especially since the venets it this particular story happen apart from the pack, and the others show up time to time but they don’t have to big of a role. So I understood it and there wasn’t any kind of confusion. YAY!

The two characters are similar in a lot of way. Thanks to their childhood they are extremly closed of and wound so thingt that its a surpris they didn’t blown up yet. But perosnally I liked both of them. Gwen is a badass, confident in everything other than her looks, outspoken and kind woman who is not afraid to fight for the weaker even if it comes with threats towards her.
Then there is Zander who has a natural mistrust towards verybody but mostly women. He is really contorolled and the main issue with them, when it comes to their relationship was the unwillingness to open up. It took practically the whole book for them to finally share all of their secrets and accept the other. They heal each other.

The writing is superb and the characters are really interesting, plus the premise of the story is super intrigueing but there was still a couple of things that I didn’t like or found mentionable.
First of all, the whole erotica part of this, the sexual scenes were just lost on me. I didn’t find them sexy at all. The attraction and the chemistry were there between the characters but when it came to sex it just sizzled out. It was demanding and rough but not appealing at all.
Then there is the issue with the plot. I think its ineteresting and has a lot of potential but I feel that instead of acting or doing something the plot concentrates more on the mental side of things, thesy talk and muse and think but rarely act. A bit more of an excitement could have shake up the dynamism of the storyline.
My last issue with the book comes in the form of the dual POV. I like it when we get and insight into both of the cahacters but I also like to know who talks when. In the beginning of the story it was clearly separated with little partitions but as things progressed more and more often there was a brief shift in narration. Just a couple of sentences here and there in the middle of conversations, action and after a while it became a bit disorienting. These sudden changes in POV. I don’t know if it was deliberate or just an oversight and I think a lot of people won’t even be bothered by it but I am.

However I still really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to go and catch up with the rest of the series.

Another hit out of the park for Suzanne Wright. I love her books, especially the Phoenix Pack series and the Mercury Pack series.

This was Zander's story and it was quite interesting. In the previous books, you don't see too much of him. He's not the outgoing jokester that Bracken is so it was cool to get a look into his perspective.

As always, the drama is there without being over the top. The sex scenes were hot. I also liked how his mate was human. I like the wolves but I like how Wright has been mixing it up with different species lately.

Have already read this book several times, as I do with all of her Phoenix Pack, Mercury Pack, Dark in You and Deep in Your Veins series. Can't wait for the next one!

Another lovely read by ms. Wright. I didn't love it as much as the others. This book had a tad more ...low key setting? Maybe it's because we get really get the whole crew or the whole romance between the H/h just seemed off. Anywho it still has the same sexy alpha protective male and sassy heroine but to me their chemistry didn't feel right. Still enjoyable though!

3,5 STARS

You guys know I'm a big fan of Suzanne Wright and all her previous books that I've read were really good. Especially the Dark in You series. I truly love those. So when I started reading this book I had quite high hopes for it. Now, I wouldn't say it's a bad story but I also wouldn't say it blew me away. It's kinda in the middle. At times I felt bored but then again, there were moments where I really got into the story and the characters. I adored Gwen, she so to say saved this story for me. Zander was all right but I didn't feel the connection to him, at least not as much as I did to Gwen. Also, about his wolf, I'm not sure how I feel about him. At first I was confused and a bit weirded out but by the end, I don't know. The change happened a bit fast for me. The secondary characters were also great and I liked seeing the characters from previous books make an appearance in this book. I even liked the 'bad guys', they were sorta pathetic but also funny and at times they even made my blood boil, so that's a good way to make the villain.
So all in all, it's a good story but not the best I've read by this author. That being said, I'll definitely read more of her work.

Really loved this book. I have read Suzanne Wright all books in Mercury and Phoenix pack series. Lure of oblivion is the third installment in Mercury pack series and I loved the shifter/human dynamics of the story. From a long time I wanted to read something like this in this series. The whole story away from pack mates and their land was something different and new. Eagerly waiting for the next book.

Suzanne Wright's shifter books are the only ones I'm reading these days. Why, because they are amazing.

Gwen and Zander were both raised in less than stellar homes. Which gave them each back off vibes. It has also given Gwen a strong feeling of doing whats right. So despite opposition she is standing for a shifter that was abused by humans for sport. Zander comes to stay at the B&B Gwen lives at and finds himself fascinated with Gwen. Once he finds out that she is defending a shifter against humans he sticks around to help keep her safe. Sparks start to fly and the number of bad guys piles up. Gwen & Zander stop resisting each other and things get hot!!!

Would definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes angst , a hot alpha shifter, a stubborn human, a little violence and sizzling hot scenes.

This is the 3rd book in the wonderful tale of those Mercury wolves. In this story we have Zander and Gwen and what fabulous couple! I freaking loved them. Gwen saw that a shifter was being abused by some humans and reported it to the local sheriff and he did nothing. She took it to the shifter council and she is awaiting the time to go before them and tell them what truly happened. Needless to say that the culprits behind the beating are pressuring Gwen to change her statement and she refuses. What ensues is just fantastic. Gwen is a brave and fearless human who due to circumstances of her upbringing was in a very intolerable situation, which led to her being placed with a foster family at the age of 8. Zander ends up staying at the B&B place that she manages and lives in with her foster family, due to his Uncle passing away and him having to be present to hear out the request of said Uncle. This story is filled with action, betrayal, bloody shifters, an alpha male who finds his true mate in a human named Gwen and great sex scenes!!! I truly loved this one and cannot wait for more from Ms. Wright. 4 .5 stars!!!!

I adore Ms. Wright and I have read and will continue to read every single book she writes.
I'm obsessed with these shifters and when I heard this book was going to have a human heroine I was ten times more excited, having a human heroine in this series put a new unique spin on it and I was extremely happy with the new direction.
Zander was a character that the reader doesn't know much about- up until now, so I really liked that we get his full story and also that his mate ends up being a human.
I say this about most of Suzanne's heroines but Gwen really is a favourite for me. A strong willed women with fiesty opinionated tendencies are my favourite kind however Gwen really does stand out from the others because she human. I loved them as a couple! They had great chemistry, I believed in them from the start. Their journey to happiness isn't smooth sailing, it a rollercoaster...but a great one.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional paranormal romance

Wright continues to thrive and delight in a genre that can sometimes be repetitive. This series remains one of my favorites and one I can't recommend enough for readers looking for shapeshifter romances.

Suzanne Wright is an amazing author! Every time I pick up one of her book I can guarantee that I will be sucked in by an intense and exciting plot, fall in love with fascinating and well drawn characters and catch up on the happenings in a world I've come to thoroughly enjoy! This time was certainly no exception.

Lure of Oblivion centres around Zander, an enforcer for the Mercury Pack, and Gwen, a human B&B owner. They meet when Zander has to go to Oregon for the reading of a will. He and Bracken stay at her family B&B and they learn that she is a vital witness to an assault on a young female lone shifter. Zander had a messed up start in life with a dysfunctional family and a possibly psychotic twin brother. Gwen's beginning was ever tougher. They both have an aversion to trust and a need to be independent, but they come to realise that the other is everything they've been missing. It was incredibly sweet and sexy in parts, however as is always the case with Wright it is the humour that kept me turning the pages. I absolutely adored Gwen! Zander is extremely dominant and it would be really easy for her to be intimidated by that, especially as she isn't a shifter, however she refuses to back down unless it's HER choice. I also really really loved the many ways she has of driving him totally insane! It reminded me of Nick and Shay in a sense and laughed out loud at their dialogue several times.

The plot was really good too. I though it was good that the majority took place in Oregon this time as it kept the plot and the characters fresh.

All in all I think this book (and series... and author!) is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional paranormal romance!

As much as I love this series, I didn't like this one as much as the other books. It was still good and the characters were interesting. Maybe it was because so much of the book was spent away from pack territory. I like seeing the rest of the pack in the book too.

At this point, I'm pretty sure that Suzanne Wright can start publishing her grocery lists and I'll be here reading every single one of them.

Lure of Oblivion is Zander's story (the third installment of the Mercury Pack series) and the first story where the love interest is 100% human. I downloaded this book at 1am today(last night, I guess) and I had already finished it by 4pm so by that you can judge how excited I generally am when it comes to Suzanne Wright and my two favorite packs!

Lure of Oblivion is the third exciting installment, of the Mercury Pack series. There is a lot of fun to be had in this story and really this whole series. The story sets off with a exciting thrill to it. Gwen Miller, is human, but when she stumbles across a lone shifter girl being beaten by a pole, she intervened and reported it to the authorities. Now she is being constantly tormented by those boys who once assaulted her new found friend who she protects. But until the hearing from the shifter council, she must stay strong and fight them off no matter how bad it gets. Zander has arrived at Gwen’s inn at just the right time, when the violence has escalated and has gained a certain respect for a human defending his own kind when humans rarely do especially at such a great risk to themselves. Zander and his wolf have always been wary of women. However his wolf is somewhat different around Gwen. Wary, but not trying to push women away like normal and Zander doesn’t know why Gwen is so different. But he soon realizes that she is his true mate and he must prove to her of his devotion and passion for her all the while making sure Gwen is protected by their enemies.

This was such a wonderful story that I easily breezed my way through. Like always with this author, I fell in love with the story and the characters and the action and the romance of course!! It was pretty great to get to know Zander more though. He has always been more reserved and apart from the others. He tends to brood quite a bit. Of course he has some tough history. A twin who is pretty mentally insane and violent and has always been that way. Then we have the three boys who have fathers who always spoil them and protect them and never let them suffer any consequences and boy they are pretty bad villains in the story. I did like seeing the way the story unfolded in a way though. Its slightly predictable, but a book you can easily relax into and just enjoy the ride. I think what I enjoyed most was seeing Gwen and Zander learn to trust and seeing the slow built romance form between them. Even though we have the whole”fated mate” aspect going on, we see quite a bit of emotional development that makes you swoon and sigh. If I had to pick who my favorite character it would be Gwen. She is so fearless, and always going to be doing the right thing no matter how dangerous the situation. I respected her so much in this book because we so how much she puts herself at risk for someone else and seeing that they get the justice they deserve.

If this author writes it, I’m reading it. It’s like the “if you build it they will come” mentality. Now it’s been a bit since I’ve visited Phoenix or Mercury Pack territory but it didn’t take me long to fall back into their world. Zander and Gwen are amazing together and I really liked their story. Gwen was such a strong female lead and I love those, couple that with Zander’s strength and dominance and it’s going to be combustible. If you have previously enjoyed this series it’s a must read for you, if not go start with Trey and Taryn and work your way here.
