This is the first book in a series about Jess Bishop, an FBI agent, and the cases she handles. This one is about a serial killer who dismembers women's bodies and appears to keep the heads. Jess has had a partner for a couple of years now, Chan, however early on in this story her previous partner of 10 years, Jamison, reappears. He was very close to Jess but has been on undercover operations. The story follows the twists and turns in the investigation as well as drawing out aspects of Jess's personal history.

It has to be said that, as this story does cover violent killings and dismemberment, there will be some who may not want to read this. I guess it wasn't quite to my taste however it was not offensive to me. I certainly found Jess a likeable character and she was interesting too. I'm not quite sure I found her fully convincing though. The damage that is in her past affects her present behaviour - so far no problem. However I'm unconvinced that she would have been accepted by the FBI I guess. The other characters are ok however some were not really fleshed out in the course of the book. That left me feeling that I wanted to know more about them and take them beyond two dimensions.

While this book is about catching a serial killer it seemed as though a fair amount of the narrative was taken up with the personal lives of the agents. I'm not sure that that balance worked for me though I can see why the story was written like that.

I have slightly mixed feelings about this book. I certainly would not have put it down and left it unfinished. Equally though it didn't fully satisfy me. Personally I'd like a prequel covering Jess's earlier life and her interactions with some of the other important characters in this, her boss would be an obvious one as would be the other person she is friendly with at work. I'm torn as to whether I'd read another but on balance I probably would. Not the best I've read but quite a way from being the worst. 3.5/5 for me.

This is my first book by Kierney Scott and I really enjoyed it. Jess is back with her old partner to try and find a serial killer. The present day story intertwines with her past - a past she tries to keep hidden from others.

I like both main characters but think there is still so much to find out about them so I will definitely be looking out for the next book in the series.

I received an ARC in return for an honest review.

A good thriller/Mystery. I liked Jess as the lead character. Especially her back story about her father. However, I figured out who the killer was by page 40! Still a good, easy thriller!

Now You See Me is a great read with lots of suspense. I loved Jess and Jamison and how their relationship worked throughout the entire book. Jess is a hard ass detective who had walls up all around her so no one can get in. When she meets a man in a bar and has a "quicky" in the bar bathroom she doesn't think nothing of it. She doesn't do relationships so this is nothing new to her. After this meeting the man keeps turning up and she keeps giving in. She finally gives in and starts a relationship with this man and then things blow up in her face because of her partner Jamison.
Very suspenseful and engaging. Will be reading more from Kierney Scott.

I am sorry to say this book just did not work for me. The main characters Jess & Jamison, I didn’t like. Throughout the whole story you felt as if you were missing something from their back story. Almost like you need to read a book prior to this one, but this is the first in the series. Maybe the future books will flush out more to their relationship/past. To me Jess was weak and NEVER had her partners back, as an FBI agent I think that is vital. She was not very likeable at all. And because of her is why I think I did not like the book.

Thank you to the author, Bookouture and Netgalley for the advanced eBook copy.

The book started exciting but then I lost interest basically because there was way too much about the characters Jess and Jamieson and their past and their personal feelings towards each other etc,you felt you had “missed out’ on a few books beforehand as to why they were like they were??? ( I also found neither of them likeable) ......however the ending was very good and was a surprise!!

The publisher provided me with the opportunity to read this in exchange for providing feedback. (via NetGalley)

I have mixed feelings on this. Parts of it were really good and swept me up. Other parts, not so much. I did see some of the plot twists coming and I wasn't really a fan of how Jamison's character was written. I liked how Jess was written. She was flawed but likeable. It's nice to see characters that aren't "perfect."

Actual review is closer to 3.5 stars. It had potential but didn't do it for me.

Loved this book. Kept going back and forth with who dunnit. Shed a tear at the end. Even the experts can’t spot a psychopath. Brilliant all the way through can’t wait for the next one

Parts of this were a little slow and I wondered why I was still reading it...but it always came back to a point that sucked me in and reminded me I was enjoying it :)

While this is the first in the series, it feels like I'm missing a book or two for some background, but overall it was a compelling story that had me questioning who done it a few times. I'm looking forward to seeing how the series develops.

I've got to admit, in the beginning I wasn't much of a fan of Jess Bishop. She was almost autistic with a bit of an edge to her. She only got edgier as the book went on but I grew to enjoy her quirky (and sometimes questionable) personality/behavior and once learning more of her history, appreciating how far she had grown as an individual. This was a very quick read that was really hard to put down once you get into the meat of the story, though I figured out the baddie as soon as I met him. The why didn't come out until much later in the story. This kind of had a Criminal Minds feel to it and unfortunately I won't get another taste of it till much later down the road instead of tuning in next week. This was an excellent start to a new series and at present only $.99 so a heck of a deal too!

How well do you really know anyone? This book will make you answer the question more than once. Jess is an FBI agent with a very dark past that shapes her present. She has a great partner until he takes an undercover assignment. Leading a life on the edge and hunting a vicious serial killer will test even the strongest. If you love fast paced suspense with plenty of psychological nuances this book is for you. Fans of Laura Lippman, Tess Gerritsen and Lisa Gardner will enjoy this book.

Absolutely love Jess Bishop, what a woman! She certainly is unlike any other character I've read. A twisted and unique story. Going to be and exciting series. Can't wait.

Now You See Me by Kierney Scott is a new detective series with a strong female lead. Det. Jessica Bishop drew me in from the beginning. She is a no-nonsense woman who is clearly good at her job and won't take crap from any man who implies otherwise. From the beginning we learn she has a mysterious pass that may be somehow connected to the current case.

Three women are found dead. They found in all different parts of the country but markings on their bodies connect them.

Jess, along with her long-time partner who is recently back from a stunt undercover, travel to the different cities trying to figure out what connects these victims. But as more of the story unfolds, we aren't sure who we can trust.

The story was fast-paced the whole time...but the last few chapters get even crazier. This was definitely an edge-of-your-seat thriller that kept me guessing. What I liked about the story after I finished was that looking back, there were enough clues peppered throughout to allow readers to put together the mystery. However, the ending was still shocking and full of twists. I don't like when a book's ending comes completely out of left field. Here, Scott's ending made sense in the story but was far from predicable. Once I finished, I was definitely left wanting more and I will read Book 2 for sure.

Thank you to Kierney Scott, Bookouture, and Netgalley for the ARC!

An amazing book that I just could not put down. The characters come alive and take you over and I lived and breathed this wonderful book. Fast paced, addictive, with a killer plot, tense and thrilling, a masterpiece of a book! SO thrilled to have discovered this author - this crime novel goes straight to the top of my favourites pile and I absolutely cannot wait for her next!

Great start to a new series! Lots of suspense and loved Jess !! My only negative comment is the author should have in the beginning shared Jess's past instead of alluding to it till you got half way into the book.. I think if the author would have started with Jess's past story first it would up been more intriguing otherwise I thought it was a very suspenseful thriller . I will definitely read the next in the series!

This is my first Kierney Scott book. I really enjoyed the main character Jess, she brings a lot of baggage with her. I loved the people that works with Jess, especially Jeanie, Tina and Lindsay, every girl needs a female friend that understands her. Jess is lucky to have three that she can turn to depending on the circumstances. I'm not so sure about Chan and Milligan, they will probably grow in me. I loved the story line.
I would recommend this book if you are into Mysteries and Thrillers and loves Detective stories.

Thank you to Bookouture via Netgalley for the copy.
