The 7th book in this series does not disappoint! Couldn’t put the book down, fast paced and just how a thriller should read. 5 stars.

I received an ARC from NetGalley to read and review. The below is my honest, unbiased opinion. Thank you, Angela Marsons, the publisher, and NetGalley, for allowing me to review.

They thought they were safe. They were wrong. The murder of a young prostitute and a baby found abandoned on the same winter night signals the start of a disturbing investigation for Detective Kim Stone – one which brings her face to face with someone from her own horrific childhood. As three more sex workers are murdered in quick succession, each death more violent than the last, Kim and her team realise that the initial killing was no one-off frenzied attack, but a twisted serial killer preying on the vulnerable. At the same time, the search begins for the desperate woman who left her newborn baby at the station – but what looks like a tragic abandonment turns even more sinister when a case of modern slavery is uncovered. The two investigations bring the team into a terrifying world of human exploitation and cruelty – and a showdown that puts Kim’s life at risk as shocking secrets from her own past come to light.

BROKEN BONES is a mystery thriller with superb character development, plot twists, and a thrilling ending. This is the seventh book in her DI Kim Stone series, and while they should be read in order, it's not necessary. I enjoyed that Marsons focuses on real-life issues, making her stories more relatable, even if you haven't been in these situations yourself. I highly recommend this one!

A great mystery thriller set in London. I wish that the author would put a little bit more background information for those of us just coming into the series, but other than that it was a great read and I was NOT able to guess the killer till the very end. Overall, a good book!

On a cold wintery night two cases catch the attention of Detective Kim Stone and her team. A baby is found abandoned near the police station and then the body of a murdered prostitute is discovered. They appear to be unrelated, but are they? This is the starting point of an enthralling story involving grooming, a raging and increasingly violent serial killer, slavery, the murky world of prostitution and pimps, illegal immigrants and the discovery of a journal written by a doting father. It’s a tangled web, an absorbing mystery, but as is only to be expected Kim & Co throw themselves into the investigation with vigour, determination and considerable skill.
This is the sevenths novel in the Detective Kim Stone Crime Thriller Series and it packs a hefty punch with a cleverly engineered dark storyline, vivid fast paced storytelling and the trade mark race against time that is bound to heighten your pulse rate. It also sees Kim Stone once again partnered by Bryant, their relationship based on their complimentary skill sets and mutual trust. DS Kevin Dawson is partnered with DC Stacey and in this novel a mystery is explored about their relationship and all is revealed. I love series where returning characters are further developed and my heart went out to Kevin. What a truly thoughtful, supportive and caring man he is, even though he would probably not admit to this observation!
Kim is sorely tested when a face from her past joins the list of characters, forcing Kim to confront her early, character-building vulnerability. She is a complex character and I feel close to her and full of admiration at her massive journey, rising to be highly skilled and respected, deservedly so. With issues of the evil predation of the most vulnerable a major theme, and Kim’s life placed in mortal danger, I was hooked to this novel from the very beginning. I would like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture from my copy of 'Broken Bones’, sent to me in return for an honest review. It’s a very well deserved 9/10 from me.

WOW what can I say……

Firstly, thank you to Net Galley and Bookouture for supplying an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Another absolutely fantastic book by Angela Marsons continuing the DI Kim Stone series – they seem to get better and better.

In this book someone is killing prostitutes, a baby has been abandoned at the police station, a man is found frozen to death. D.I. Kim Stone and her team investigate and start to unravel the truth.

The book depicts the horrifyingly and modern social issues of grooming young women into sex work, slavery and criminal gangs.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next instalment to be released.

Thank you to NetGalley and Angela Marsons for a copy of this book, given in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 7th book in the DI Kim Stone series and each one gets better and better. The characters are relatable, the story lines are hard, but realistic and it’s a continuous fast paced novel, no slow parts here!

This book covers prostitution, grooming of young girls, human trafficking and illegal immigration. Hard topics, and they way Marsons writes puts you right into the story. I laughed, I cried, I was disgusted by the actions of some characters in the novel.

Hands down, one of my favorite series. Can’t wait for the next book!

"A story about grooming, prostitution, entrapment and the modern day slave trade." Absorbing and gripping, this 7th in the series is one you won't want to miss.

This emotionally charged police procedural thriller packs a wallop from the outset -- a young girl is pushed from a rooftop on Christmas Day in DI Kim Stone's West Midlands district. Hollytree is "the place you were sent if Hell was having a spring clean." Then, a baby is dropped off at the police station -- it's about 3 months old and warmly wrapped against the frigid elements. And, to top it off, two young prostitutes have been murdered. Happy holidays!

DI Kim Stone is back with her team after helping with an outside case (book 6) so the gang's all here. I love the interplay between the characters and their relationships with each other. As I've said previously, when I open a new installment, I feel like I'm meeting up with old friends or going to a family reunion. Each of the team members is unique and multi-dimensional and they do their jobs well. Kim, as their leader, is fearless and driven -- and her instincts are sound though she often meets resistance from higher up the command chain. In this one, the elements seem completely unrelated until all the pieces are brought together to form a very sad and horrific picture of how little human life is valued in some parts of the world. Definitely it opened my eyes, though I should be more aware by now considering the books I read.

As always, this is a book you don't want to miss. If you're not already salivating for #8, then you need to read more in this series. I personally feel you should read them from the beginning, in order, so as not to miss the changes as the characters develop over time and events.

So grateful to NetGalley and Bookouture for the e-book ARC to read and review. Thank you!
And, Angela Marsons -- keep writing!

I love all the Kim Stone books and this is no exception, I love how we see the whole team developing each book so we get to know all their personalities. The two plots side by side was good as they both developed almost as two different stories but cleverly done to make it seem connected.
Can't wait for the next one could read these books every day and never get bored

I love Kim Stone and her team! This is the 7th in the DI Kim Stone series, and the writing just gets better and better. It could be read as a stand alone but why would you want to? Give yourself a treat and read them all from the beginning, that way you get a better feel for the characters.
This book delves into the murky world of people trafficking, of slavery and of forced prostitution. Much of it makes harrowing reading as you realise this is prevalent in our society. Also very sad in places. However, there is also a touch of humour to lighten the mood and the scenes where Kim finds a baby abandoned at the police station and she realises no one else is willing to take responsibility for it, are really funny and well written.
Great read from Angela Marsons as always, would highly recommend this book. Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this as an arc.

Regular readers of my book blog will know just how much I love Angela Marsons. Her DI Kim Stone books are outstanding. This is book seven and each one has been a brilliant read in their own right. Each time a new one comes out I cannot wait to read it, but I am also scared that this book will be the one to let the series down and I worry that Marsons will get to the point where she has done all that she can with Stone.

My favourite of the Kim Stone books has been Evil Games, I absolutely loved the baddie in that book and felt that she was an amazingly written character that, even though I knew she wasn’t real, still managed to scare me. I didn’t expect that any book would push Evil Games off that number one spot, but Broken Bones has done just that.

This book was just wonderful to read, from start to finish I loved every single page and I didn’t want to stop reading. Sure, the books are easy to read and not the most high brow books, but if you enjoy an easy read that you can really get into then Broken Bones is for you.

I normally give a bit of a summary of the book in my reviews, but I’m not going to here. It isn’t necessary. It doesn’t matter what the book is about really, if you’ve read Kim Stone books before (and I do strongly suggest that if you haven’t you start with book one, Silent Scream, in order to get the most that you can out of the series) then you will know that you want to read Broken Bones, and if you haven’t? Well, what are you waiting for?

Thank you to the publishers Bookouture for a copy of Broken Bones by Angela Marsons. I was under no obligation to review and all thoughts are my own.

I don't think Angela Marsons could ever write a bad book or even a bad chapter. I have been a fan since her first book in the D.I. Kim Stone series.
Kim Stone series is one of the best series I have read and looking forward to her next book.
A baby was left outside the police station. Kim and Bryant are trying to find out who the baby belongs to. They are also investigating the death of two young prostitutes. Don't be fooled.......This book has lots of twists and turns and will keep you guessing right till the end.
This brilliant book also features the subjects of modern day slavery and the grooming of young women into sex work. What are they going to investigate next? I can't wait for the next instalment in D.I.Stone series.

Thank you, NetGalley/Bookouture Big Fat 5 stars for this book.

Books like these are why I love some thrillers. I started this series at book six and haven't gone back to read the first ones in the series. I totally need to kick my own butt for that because I read tons of crap and these are a guaranteed good time.
Bookouture Publishing is starting to really kick butt in the thriller genre, the books that I have gotten from them are some of the best that I've read lately. (I have another one for a different series coming up! Excite!)

There has been a brutal murder of a prostitute and usually that type case doesn't really get much attention. People seem to feel like prostitutes really shouldn't get as much attention when they get into trouble as say a police officer. Kim Stone doesn't feel that way. We get some background into her childhood in this book and Kim grew up hard. She knows how life is not all farting unicorns and how just one simple bad choice can change your life. She respects all life. (Yes, I'm kinda mushy over her #girlcrush)
She and her team start digging into why prostitutes are being murdered.

Then they end up with an abandoned baby and another weird murder. They all might tie into each other but how?

This book like the other in the series that I've read of her's makes you stop and think. I got all pissed off and think I was screaming about women power for a bit there till the chihuahua looked at me funny and I knew if I didn't hush she would pee in the floor.
And don't call Kim a pig on a bike. She is totally this...

About the only thing that bugged me about this book was Stacey's language. I don't remember her 'speaking' the way she does in this book in the other book I read but I do have old lady brains and may just not remember. But who cares? Dang, these books are good.

I am always nervous reading the new instalment of a good series just in case it does not meet my expectations.
Surely it can only go on so long before it runs out of steam, not this one,
Kim Stone is back with a bang!

An abandoned baby and a brutally murdered prostitute divides the team into two investigations, each with very little clues.

The Detectives enter the dark world of sex workers, the grooming of teenage girls and modern day slavery whilst racing against the clock to find a twisted serial killer and piece together the identity of the baby and explore the terrible ordeal that leads a mother to abandon her child.
The dynamics of the team are shaken a little by the tempory secondment of a familiar detective. Stone and Bryant are insatiable in their quest and the new and improved Dawson helps Stacey gain her confidence out in the field, this proves to be a huge success.
This dark and twisty 7th instalment is captivating and Angela Marsons yet again drags you into the story and locks you in until the final word.
I can honestly say this is my favourite book of the best British Crime Series I think I've ever read!
If I could give it 6 stars I would. I really can't recommend the series enough.

I am a big lover of the British Police Procedurals. Until 1 1/2 or so ago, it had been a while since I had listened to a British Police Procedural.

The moment I heard Jan Cramer narrate SILENT SCREAM, I was hooked. I have bought and listened to the previous 6 books.

Though I have read this book, I look forward to listening to BROKEN BONES.

I had a good laugh when Kim didn’t know what to do with a baby.

I feel extremely privileged to be able to read these books through Netgalley. When AM announces that her newest title is available to review, every other book in reading at the time, gets dumped. No ifs, no buts. I absolutely love every one of the Kim Stone books, AM never fails, each one is as good, if not better than the last. I feel like I’m part of the team, totally immersed in the story. Keep it up, I can’t wait for the next one!

DI Kim Stone and team tackle 2 different cases. One of them hits close to home for Kim and involves a childhood acquaintance. Love Marsons' books.

Normally I have to wait for my favourite authors to put out one book each year, but Angela Marsons has given me the pleasure of two Detective Kim Stone books this year, and boy am I happy. I always look forward to the next instalment as all of her books are just so incredibly awesome. Whilst the storylines are often very gut wrenching, the compassion and tenacity Detective Stone has to find justice and catch the bad guys, makes me wish all police officers were just like her.

Angela Marsons has done it again, I absolutely love all her books and this one did not disappoint in any way, Kim is so likeable, I always route for her a her team.
The book covered the delicate subject of sex tarfficing which I feel is brilliant as this really is a current day and age problem.
I have read many crime series in my time but not many I would read over and over again like these books. Kim Stone books are my go to crime thriller reads. I love the fact they join together o well as a series but you can also read them as stand alone books.
5*+ e.very time

I am a big fan of Angela Marsons! Well obviously! After all this is book #7 and here I am still reading and waiting for book #8, that says a lot about an author. This is another great addition to the Kim Stone series. I have connected with Kim and her team and look forward to each and every book that comes out. I was so happy to be approved for this book, literally made my weekend! Angela, I hope you are working on book number 8! Can't wait to read more!
