This book is about Zafir and Kat, who could not be more different. Zafir is a Sheikh while Kat is a model with a secret. Kate also happens to be the girl who walked away from their engagement. Zafir hires Kat for a reason but has less than stellar motives behind this move. The best thing about this book is that the secret Kat is hiding makes her even better and unique as a female lead in this book.
An interesting read with a great heroine and with an unusual secret. A Diamond For The Sheikh's Mistress, is the first book in the series about the love lives of the two brothers of Jandor. Zafir is the oldest and has been taught to put his country first. Kat Walker is his former fiancée who has managed to disappear after their ‘break up’. Zafir decides that he needs to get over his feelings for her once and for all and comes up with a convenient plan.
I really liked that Kat had a disability and the amount of small detail that Abby Green uses from the pain in her prosthetic to how she has to get into the bath. It draws more of a comparison between Kat’s old high flying model life and her life after the accident. I loved that her motivation to accept the job was more selfless than would usually be found in a romance novel. The back stories of both characters were very in-depth and were gradually unravelled through the book at a nice pace.
I did feel that the changing locations really didn’t make any difference to the story as most of the narrative was either in the hotel suits or presentations except for restaurant in Paris. I would have liked more of it to have played out in Jandor.
Kat and Sheikh Zafir were in a relationship until something went wrong. Zafir can't forget the passion they shared. When an employee of his suggests they hire a model to wear the jewel of his country, he sees this as the perfect opportunity to get Kat back in his bed. I do love a second chance romance, in my eyes its all the more sweeter when they finally get together. They will have a few issues before they can find a happy ending.
I love all of Abby Greens books and by far this has to be my favourite she’s written so far she writes so wickedly awesome romances ...this one is very sexy I loved it
Sheikh Zafir Al-Noury cannot forgive his ex-fiance, Kat Winters, for breaking off their engagement, nor can he forget her. He found out about Kat's past - she modelled for some risque photos, so he rejected her. Although she is an ex-super-model, he finds her working as a waitress. Zafir hires her to show off the Heart of Jandor diamond on a global tour. She does not tell him about the injuries she sustained on the night they split up. Making her an offer she cannot refuse she agrees to do the tour. This book is about redemption, understanding the past before they can move forward and acceptance that despite physical changes they are still the same person.

Probably one of the best Modern titles I have read in a while. I love me an alpha Sheikh, but Abby gave me a strong heroine to respect as well. And Kat is not the usual character that you find in books from this imprint.
"Once a liar… always a liar..."
Don’t be dissuaded, in that because there are still all the usual traits that you expect with a title from this publisher, but the author gave a real depth and emotion to this couples reconnection that sometimes is a little lacking due to the shorter length of the book.
"When you ran out of my apartment that night you left more questions than answers…"
I don’t want to say too much else about the plot as it will give away too much, but if you are looking for a quick, sexy and well written read then Abby Green ticks all the boxes with A Diamond for The Sheikh’s Mistress, I will definitely be looking to read more from this author in the future.
"I feel whole when I’m with you."
Sheikh Zafir Al-Noury, now King of Jandor, is haunted by memories of his affair with model Kat Winters, when she walked out over a misunderstanding.
Kat Winters, a model, irrevocably changed, has left her modelling career behind due to a tragic accident.
Thrown together when the Heart of Jandor is found and Kat is requested to model it, Zafir will lure Kat back into his life for unfinished business. All is not as it seems, and his quest to finally quench his thirst brings to light many past sins and mistakes made. Kat is unable to forget but she is unable to resist, where this will lead, you will have to read the book to find out.
The book is well paced, with a storyline quite unlike I have ever read, emotionally fulfilling, and sensually sexy all in one. The chemistry between the characters crackles off the pages! Definitely will keep an eye on Ms. Green's books from now on, as I couldn't put it down until I'd finished the whole book in one sitting.
This book was received free from NetGalley via Mills and Boon Insiders, but that does not in any way influence my opinions.
Most Engaging Read for Along Time, 5 Stars 🌟
Wow the first book of Ms Green's new series Rulers of the Desert is a powerful, emotional story with such engaging characters, that I found myself unwilling to put it down until I had finished reading.
(I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone but Ms Green covers a topic you rarely see mentioned and she covered it with a compassionate, sensitivity and honesty that brought an additional dimension to the book).
Ms Green really knows how to set the scene; we are introduced to our main characters Sheikh Zafir Al-Noury and Kat Winters 18 months after their traumatic break up. Memories of Kat are still haunting Zafir so when an opportunity arises to bring her back into his life, temporarily, using the recently recovered Heart of Jandor diamond. Zafir devises a plan to get Kat out of his system and put the past behind him, so that he can finally move on! But when he sees Kat and spends time with her again Zafir begins to question the past and the changes in Kat and realises just how much he had underestimated her. Can Zafir walk away from Kat as he planned or can the Heart of Jandor diamond reunite Zafir and Kat so they find there own HEA in the desert!
In addition to the main story throughout the book there are several references to the back story of Zafir’s brother the reluctant Sheikh Salim Al-Noury, with an exclusive extract at the end of this book of his story A Christmas Bride For The King. So although A Diamond for the Sheikh's Mistress is a amazing standalone if you loved this book or Ms Green’s writing in general then these teasers really whet your appetite for the second book coming soon!
Furthermore, I hope Zafir's cousin Raid Arnaud and Cassidy O'Connor will be having a future book as there brief appearance hinted at more secrets and an interesting story to come...
Fyi I received my copy from Netgalley and Mills and Boon via Mills and Boon Insiders, but this does not influence my opinions as all opinions are my own.
This book was a welcome change for me I haven't read a Sheikh book in such a long time and the author does such a tremendous job she touches so beautifully on a topic many would shy away from which is a massive credit to her. I was so Impressed with how the topic was handled and integrated into to such a beautiful romance.
The characters where both truly outstanding Sheikh Zafir Al-Noury was super intense and focused on one thing getting the one woman that walked away from him back into his life even if he is turned down he will get a yes from the lady he once was so passionate about.
Kat Winters she had a hard life growing up with an addict mother pushing her into every direction shes older wiser has suffered even more once a top model who thought she had the love of her life now she has an uphill emotional battle. And know that battle will only get harder as Zafir strolls into her life once more. The pain and humiliation come to the surface immediately.
Can they come back from the past and look for a brighter future?
This book has some of the best emotional scenes ever.
Really do love this author and her books. She never disappoints and she surly doesn’t at all in this one. She brings out all your feeling when you read her books and that is one amazing thing that she does time and time again. Really outstanding book by a wonderful and amazing author. Would recommend
