Jessica was a confident young woman. She had climbed the ranks in the police and was well liked and respected. She was sure she knew how to look after herself. However, one drop of her guard and she found herself tied up, with a pounding head and feeling very sick aboard a boat.

Michael was imprisoned for the murder of his wife. Jessica had been part of the team that convicted him. Now he has been released from prison and due to a windfall has managed to buy an ocean going yacht. He takes Jessica to persuade her he is innocent of the murder as well as to regain his masculinity.

As the voyage progresses they are forced to re-evaluate their feelings.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I did really enjoy the sailing details. I could really imagine the things they went through amid storms & shark attack. I thought that part was really well written. I did find the sexual relationship more difficult to believe. I also got rather tired of the descriptions of their sex lives.

All in all it was a 3.5 star read for me. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for giving me the chance to read & review this book.

Rarely have I read a book where I disliked the main characters so intensely. This was a struggle to get through, as nothing felt rooted in reality. We were told that Jessica was smart and strong and awesome, etc., but we were never shown it. In addition, to have Jessica develop feelings for the man who abducted and assaulted here was offensive and ridiculous. I don't recommend this book to anyone.
