It saddens me to say that this is a DNF for me. I read 25 % of the book and i still wasn't going anywhere. There was a little part when the servers were overheating (i was kinda hoping that it would) but thats about it. I could not link the two timelines together and i would not spend more time on it. I wanted to finish it but i have other books calling my name.
This story took a long time for the two strands - Yemen/terrorists and a London bank's IT system - to make any sense. A pity, and thus just 4 stars instead of 5. I am still not a fan of the 'alternative chapter' arrangement but Mr Norman writes well and has spent some considerable time on research. As a first novel, I am impressed. It is not easy to write about global IT and investment banking!
Regretfully, I abandoned reading this novel. I have come to understand that many ARCs introduced to the reading community are still a work in progress. However, when the formatting reaches a level of complete disarray, there is no longer any enjoyment In reading any further. The formatting was wrought with so many errors that it became distractful. At some point, I found myself waiting for the next error. Not my kind of read.
