I was given an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review – this book is entertaining but nothing new under the sun. I’ve read this story many times. By the numbers copycat thriller

Another brilliant page-turner from Amanda Robson which simply cannot be put down. She takes you for a rollercoaster ride which starts and ends on such a high. A compulsive thriller.

A story between past and present after one twin has killed the other. They have been arguing about the boyfriend of one of them. The short chapters were good and added to the suspense. I did not think that a lot of it was totally believable. I could not warm to any of them either,

Guilt is a fantastic read following twin sisters Zara and Miranda who are as close as can be until Zara meets boyfriend Seb and the girls relationship starts to disintegrate. Before long one twin is dead and the other is in custody but which twin is which?
This is told from both sisters and Seb's viewpoint and covers past events as well as present which builds the tension fabulously on the way to the fantastic climax.
Excellently written characters and short and sharp chapters all make for a great read - 5 stars!
Many thanks to Netgalley and publishers for the ARC.

Clever characterisation and the most hideous boyfriend that I have had to read about for some time!
A bit twee in places and a bit convenient but a pacey read.

I have just finished this addictive read!! I was hooked from the start and found myself intrigued and gripped.
I loved the short chapters which allowed me to dip easily into the story.
Two twins Miranda and Zara and her handsome boyfriend Sebastian are the main characters. A web of suspense was woven as I tried to figure out what could possibly make one twin murder her sister?
The self harming and rape scenes I found disturbing but they added to the story which was compelling and fast paced.
I throughly recommend this unputdownable read and will be looking out for more of Amanda Robsons books .

I liked the format of short chapters and past and present time zones in this book. Two twins, Miranda and Zara, with some dark history. Zara's handsome, too good to be true boyfriend Sebastian is of course just that. What could possibly bring one twin to murder her sister? His manipulation of the sisters makes for dark reading.

A dark gripping psychological thriller - that I found different from most thrillers.
The story is told from 3 different perspectives, as it unfolded I found the characters more intriguing which helped to build up the tension for a enthralling and captivating ending.
Thank you netgalley, Avon Books Uk and Amanda Robson for allowing me to read and review this book.

Amanda Robson doesn't just match her last book, she smashes it out of the park. I love the short passages in this book, whispering information breathily into your ear in panting little gasps. I was totally gripped, and although the subject matter is a little flinchworthy at times, it kept me reading on and on. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. Sebastian is still under my skin, even after the last words filtered into my brain.

5☆ Plenty of Twists, kept me guessing!
Guilt is a book that will leave you in a spin.
From the very start till the very end I was completely enthralled and hooked.
Twin sisters Zara and Miranda, one is murders the other but which one is dead and which one is in jail??
Them there is the middle man... Sebastian.
He is manipulative, clever, sadistic and determined to come between the twins.
Zara is a self harmer, she craves attention, reckless, easily led and easily falls in love, relies on her sister and mum.
Miranda the level headed Twin, very protective of her sister, looks after her, has a good job.
Sebastian is seeing Zara but flirts with Miranda. He won't commit to Zara but weaves his way into both their lives.
He too is obsessive, depressive and there is something sinister about him.
So who kills who? And for what reason?
As you read this story you are plunged into the past and present and each twin tells their story all the while trying to work out who is in jail!
We also hear from Sebastian and his inner thoughts.
It's a Very well written pacy read with well thought-out characters and a twisting plot.
Guilt will literally get under your skin.
Its a Unputdownable read that makes for a
Enthralling and compulsive read.
It's a bittersweet tale of two sisters, who are best friends with one tragic ending.
A Must Read! If you love Pychological Thrillers.

A good read. Maybe a little predictable but written well enough to still be enjoyable. The characters were well developed but the plot was a bit far fetched.

A clever, entertaining read which I found intriguing and a little disturbing in parts. At the beginning of the novel it is not clear who is the prisoner and who has committed the murder. I was engrossed from the start.
The narrative is told by Miranda, Zara, Sebastian and then flicks to the present day. Miranda and Zara are non-identical twins and Sebastian is Zara’s boyfriend and it soon becomes clear that he is not all he seems to be.
The darker parts cover self-harm including detailed information about cutting as well as a rape scene and the consequences of this.
Thanks to NetGalley, Avon BooksUK and Amanda Robson for my ARC in return for my honest review.
Highly recommended.

Good pace, kept my interest to the end, a little predictable and repetitive but not a bad read. The end was a bit of a letdown with Miranda and Theo,

Guilt by Amanda Robson is a marvellous contemporary psychological thriller that will draw the reader in from the start.
As the novel opens the reader does not know who 'the prisoner' is. As I read on I tried to guess whose voice it was.
The story has two different time frames... the past and the present. There are three different voices enabling the reader to inhabit three different personalities.
Guilt is a menacing read. The reader 'sees' what is happening but is powerless to stop it. We can only read on in horror.
Truth, lies and appearances are the main themes. "Truth is freedom" but truth seems to be buried amongst the lies.
There are the difficult topics of rape, mental health issues, self harm and psychological trauma as well as drug taking. It is a seedy underworld clothed in respectability.
Guilt is a consuming read. The reader is engrossed, hoping that the truth will out and justice will prevail. Manipulation is the order of the day.
As psychological thrillers go, Guilt is one of the best and most chilling I have read.
A gripping read.
I received this book for free from Net Galley. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Receiving my e-copy of this book was my first introduction to Amanda Robson's work so I had no preconceived ideas. The format of the book is a little different, coming as it does in short, snappy chapters.
I have to admit that I wasn't initially hooked and considered giving up quite early on but I had a sneaky peep at some reviews and they convinced me that I should stick with it. I am so glad that I did as it soon picked up pace and became quite compelling, in a dark and sinister kind of way.
I was never in any doubt as to who killed and who died so I don't really understand why the third person narrative was used in the way it is.
The author seems to have a bit of an obsession with eyes; they were continually pulling someone in or pushing someone away and one character was constantly described as having runny honey eyes, yes these descriptions can work but they were used so many times I became somewhat irritated.
Overall then it was a chilling and compelling darkly sinister, well executed novel and I will keep an eye out (see what I did there :-) ?) for Ms Robson's other work.

Guilt is one of those books you put off everything to read. I really should have been cleaning the house! It’s refreshing to read something that’s premise is so different from the norm. Miranda and Zara are twins whose lives are turned upside down by Sebastian a seemingly charming man that worms his way into their lives. One sister loses her life at the hands of the other and we are told the story of why mostly in flashback. I throughly enjoyed Guilt, a satisfying read.

Strange. Definitely readable and I really wanted to find out what happened, but somehow, the story just didn't 'hang together' for me. It was an interesting premise - twins are endlessly fascinating - but I couldn't get a grip on Sebastian's motivation in trying to drive apart twin sisters Miranda and Zara.. Lots of odd references to eyes (runny honey eyes??) that I found very odd and really intruded on my reading because they distracted me and drew me out of the story. Even at the end, I found the character of the lawyer representing Miranda totally implausible. Disappointing and sadly not for me..

I enjoyed this book as it was a little different to the norm. Grief can effect in so many different ways which was portrayed very well. I would recommend this book and thank Netgalley and the publisher for a chance to review it.

I delved into this book thinking it to be a thriller which would remain with me for days. The premise of the book was chilling; 2 sisters, twins, one dead, killed by her own sister. How, when, why? As usual, it is always a man who is the trigger, but in this, he is not only a catalyst but someone who is actively playing one sister against the other.
My first book by Amanda Robson, and I was amazed by the way she has painted the characters, Miranda the straight forward accountants, Zara artistic photographer, yet a cutter, and Sebastian boyfriend bound by his own nightmares and past.
I liked how the author had kept the identity of the sisters a secret. Till mid-story, I had no idea who was dead and who killed the other. Once the identity is revealed, the story moves at the same fast pace, but becomes a bit of a routine with no surprises and an unbelievable ending.
I loved the book till the identity reveal, then I rushed through it, hoping for more twists, but alas, none whatsoever.
Character development: could have been better especially Sebastian
Plot : started with a fast pitch yet shuddered mid book
Pace : fast till the end, 163 odd chapters, I could finish in a few hours.
On the whole, enjoyable if gone with the flow, not do much if analyzed.

Truly addictive psychological thriller that keeps you guessing where it's going, who to love, pity or hate. Wonderfully written.
