I enjoyed this novel and I think it's worth reading. Savanna and her two children leave their hometown and move to a rundown farmhouse owned by herself and her brother. Savanna's husband is in jail, awaiting trial, for raping three women. When Savanna meets her neighbour Gavin, sparks fly and it doesn't take long for them to fall in love. Will Savanna be able to find the happiness she longs for?

Savanna's life has come crashing down around her. Her husband has been arrested for attacking three women. Everywhere she goes she is talked about. They blame her for her husbands evil acts. Luckily she has some hope in the form of her ancestral home in Silver Springs. She packs up her belongings and heads off with her children. To a new beginning where no one knows what heinous things her husband has done. After a long drive they arrive at their new home, only to find the access bridge has broken and Savanna cant drive the moving truck over to the house. Luckily she has a very handsome and handy neighbour Gavin. After spending the night in a local hotel, and a little help from Gavin. They finally get to see their new home for the first time. Its in need of a lot of repairs. Gavin offers to help her in his spare time and Savanna is grateful. Gavin finds out his ex girlfriend who is a real piece of work is pregnant and that he might be the father. He doesn't love her yet is prepared to be with her for the sake of the baby. Even though he is attracted to our heroine Savanna. The Ex knows this as she knows his past, she is so manipulative. This novel had romance and intrigue which kept the reader engaged to the end. Highly recommended for fans of contemporary romance and a little intrigue.

I really enjoyed this. I haven't read anything by Brenda before so this was also read as a standalone for me and I had no trouble with that at all but I now want to read the others.

I liked the storyline and the country setting. The main characters had good chemistry right from the start. I also liked the mystery and suspense in the story with the rapist/murderer and even the pregnancy. I kept turning the pages not wanting to put it down.

I enjoyed this book but found it a bit unrealistic,! After all her trauma she found love really quickly. In real life I think we would be much more wary.

Reading books that make me think, that open up my mind or eyes to issues or experiences that I may not have otherwise thought of is something that I enjoy tremendously.
Right Where We Belong by Brenda Novak, the first book that I have read by this author, was exactly that kind of book.
For those who have not read the book before, Right Where We Belong is a romance book but it may not be like any you've read before.
Savanna, the heroine of the story, has had her life completely turned upside down.
The man that she was married to, that she has two children with and has been with since she was 18 years old, has been charged with reprehensible crimes and is being held in prison.
To escape the negativity and hostility of the people in the small town that she lives in, Savanna takes her two children and heads to Silver Springs where she intends to fix up and live in the house that her parents had bought shortly before their deaths and it is there that she meets Gavin, the hero of the story.
Although the sex scenes aren't as explicit or hot as the love scenes that I'm used to reading in traditionally published romance or romantic suspense books, the novel is still sweet and romantic with plenty of angst and ups and downs.
What I enjoyed most about this book was that it make me think.
When violent crimes occur throughout the world, in most cases, a media spotlight is shone so brightly on the perpetrator(s) that anyone else involved, including the victims, fall into obscurity and it had honestly never occurred to me before to wonder was this or that perpetrator married or involved and if so, what must that person be going through?
How were they coping with the knowledge that they had been/were involved with someone who had committed a heinous crime?
I recommend reading this book to anyone who is looking to read a book that encourages you to look beneath the surface of a person, to look beyond their face or appearance, to see beyond rumor and innuendo and most importantly, to not automatically condemn but to be compassionate and reserve judgement.
Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for allowing me to read an arc of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review
