This was a great read as always the author gives us the best of the best this book is action packed with some intrigue and a lot of romance.

I really enjoyed this book. It is based around two characters' romance the male being a hardened career marine who has come to a backwoods town to help run to ground some dangerous felons, along with some of his unit and local law enforcement. This is so well written that you can feel the bond developing between the main characters right the way through the book. I won't give a detailed breakdown of the story because it will spoil it for you, but I certainly do recommend you read this book because I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Rex Trainer (known to one and all as T-Rex) is on loan to the Department of Homeland Security from the Marines as part of a task force to uncover potential terrorist activity in the small town of Grizzly Pass. A career military man, the last thing he expects to find is love with child care worker Sierra who is struggling to free herself from her abusive ex-husband who can’t accept that they are divorced.
Sierra’s ex sets the scene for T-Rex and Sierra’s first meeting as T-Rex steps in to save her from the unwanted attention by posing as Sierra’s new boyfriend, and, despite her past experience of an abusive relationship, Sierra soon finds herself attracted to the handsome stranger. The attraction seems to be mutual, although T-Rex is unwilling to commit due to the fact he will soon be leaving town once the investigation is complete.
Unfortunately for T-Rex, events take a sinister turn when Sierra is caught up in a hostage situation with the group of terrorists he and his associates are investigating, and this forces him to face up to his feelings as he is faced with losing the woman he has come to love.
Whilst I enjoyed this book, and the scenes with Sierra trying to escape from her predicament, it is part four of a series of which I have not read the previous volumes, and I did feel that I was missing some of the plot with regard to the terror threat and corrupt political candidates (I assume the background was given in another book), and so, the finer points of what is obviously a serious sub plot were a little lost on me. Although I could pick up enough to follow the tension of the story, I never quite worked out what the terror group were aiming for if their plot succeeded.
That said, I did enjoy the story, and, although a bit strange at first, once you get used to T-Rex and his co-workers being known by code-names (used to great comedic effect towards the end when a character states that Sierra is asking to see a dinosaur), it was a solid story with plenty of suspense and a happy ending. It just probably needed a little bit more background to allow it to be more easily read as a standalone book.

Finally a book that shows a strong woman going after what she wants. I got hooked from the first page. If you love action and romance movies then this book is definitely up your street. Trex is a strong alpha male who respect a women and his leading lady Sierra will make you turn the page just to do find out what happened next. I really enjoyed this story. But what happened to her ex?

Elle James has another hit book in on her hands. Grabbed hold of me and never let go till the end of the book. Really great storyline with amazing characters and a easy to follow and to get your teeth into. Would recommend

This was a good book, however i think i would have enjoyed it more if I had read the books before it as I was a bit confused, I enjoyed the romance part, but I found the main crime part hard to follow.

This is my first novel by Elle James and it wont be my last. The author kept me engaged with the story. After her awful first marriage, Sierra was so deserving of a man who knows how to treat a woman. T-Rex has made a career out of being in the military. He doesn't do relationships because of the danger of his job. Although many may say that's a wise decision, his intentions don't stand a chance when he meets Sierra. I loved how even though Sierra had been through an abusive marriage, she got tough and managed to hold her own in some tough situations. This book has it all abit of action and off the charts chemistry. I would like to thank Net Galley and Mills & Boon for the chance to review an ARC. Highly recommended.
