Great ideas for meal prep to be efficient and save time. This could be helpful for our students heading off to college, but will likely be used more frequently by our teachers looking to save time in their households.

I absolutely love this cookbook.

It offers terrific meal options for busy people by prepping several meals at once and freezing them until needed.

This cookbook needs to be on the shelf of every busy parent.

Really enjoyed this cookbook. It gave some ideas for great meals that can be prepared ahead of time, which is a huge lifesaver for a busy mom like me! my kids are extremely picky, so admittedly some of these meals were a bit of a miss, but we also found a few new favorites.

I think this book would be helpful for most busy families. However, because of several food allergies in our family, we would not be able to use most of the recipes without a lot of substitutions. The book is well laid out with clear instructions and includes good information about how to make the process of bulk cooking easier and how to avoid freezer burn.

After reviewing a digital version of this book, I added the physical copy to my wishlist! Planning ahead in meal prep can save a lot of time and money. This book does a great job of helping with that planning.

Did you arrive home from work hungry and disorganised? Thinking about ordering pizza (again?).
This book might help: it looks at how to buy large "family-sized" packages of food (cheaper) and then prepare multiple meals from them (quicker), freezing the meals individually right before the point where they are cooked.

So, you are not thawing cooked food, you are cooking the food fresh from frozen, drastically reducing your nightly meal-preparation time. From simple marinade to cooking in batches, this adaptable approach can fit any schedule and help significantly reduce the take-out budget. Set up for the novice, the book goes through planning, preparation, and kitchen setup as well as providing recipes and how-to tips and tricks.

There is only one problem with this book. How can you find enough space in your freezer for all these awesome ideas. Seriously, this is exactly the kind of book to help you accomplish this monumental task of preparing ahead of time...to save you time...so you'll have more time....later, when you need to grab something quick etc..

Ii must apologise for not being able to review this book after you so kindly accepted my request. I have had an unfortunately challenging time, but am now free to resume reading and reviewing. I hope that you will not hold my difficulties against me in future requests

This book breaks it all down by the type of meat you want to make for the month and all your options with it. It also has sides, condiments, and breakfast options. The time saver aspect along with the food options at my fingertips had me from the get-go. I love that the author is about being frugal and avoiding waste. I feel like this book has set me up with all the problems I could fall into addressed. From filling to freezing to flavor to avoiding freezer burn, this book has it all spelled out. I’m thankful for the soup area because that’s my go-to for the season we are in at the moment. Happy Cooking.
I received a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

A super cool cookbook to prepare home cooked sauces (like curries, stir-fry sauces, brown sugar bourbon for salmon), butter's and pesto (like their chili lime butter for Halibut or Gorgonzola lemon butter for a wild pasta night…happy sigh….), breakfast burritos, Lemon Lavender Cookies…..I hope you are getting the idea! Oh, and they also have kid-friendly make-ahead dishes like the Sweet Asian Chicken for thawing later to cook either outdoors on a grill or indoor in a skillet. Fun fun!

This cookbook also offers tips on how to Thaw, Cook and Enjoy…because we all know that to enjoy is a major plus here! There is also information on how to make the most of limited freezer space, how to prevent ice crystals, being safe when it comes to storing glass in your freezer, and more!

So set the table like you are doing fine dining and bust out one of those fancy dishes you’ve previously prepared and prepare for one of MANY nights to remember. 🙂

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC

This was a useful read for anyone new to this style of cooking in advance. I have previously read similar books and was hoping for something a little more, or new information.

I needed to learn to plan ahead more for meals, so that my children can heat something up when I'm driving my other kids to something. This book is great for that, and also my kids can (and should) start learning how to cook some of these recipes.

I have to admit that I did not get the original so can't compare the 1st edition to 2nd but this book is full of practical recipes for the busy home cook who has time to prep one or 2 days a week and then freeze and use later. What I love about this book is that it is a guide to how to properly freeze foods to minimize or eliminate freezer burn as well as guides to how long one can freeze things. Recipes are generic and can be used as guidelines for other more complicated recipes that one can easily freeze as well. Please get this book as a great reference guide.

This is the perfect book for busy families who are on the go. It is great in the way of including nutritional meals for today's families.

I was so excited to this new, updated version of the original fix, freeze and feast. There are entirely new recipes that are not in the older book. It's also written and organized in a more easily useable manner. Pictures are now scattered throughout the book although not with each recipe. I really like the idea of freezer cooking and the meatball recipe and accompanying sauces is fantastic. I wish it would make it easier to use the 6 pounds of ground beef as other recipes the same day of prep but instead it's easiest to make the entire recipe just one way. If you are Costco shopper this book would be great for you!

A few pre-review caveats: I'm not a cook, I don't enjoy cooking, and as a result I'd say whatever I prepare tends to be acceptable, but nothing to write home about. But I LOVE food, and because I don't like to cook, I prefer to get things done ahead of time so that day to day meal prep is quick and painless, hence the appeal of this book. Also, I didn't make anything from this book, so I can't speak to the quality of the recipes. That said...

In theory, this book sounded like everything I needed. It's clear that the authors have a very specialized expertise, and I can see how buying and cooking in bulk would be extremely helpful to people who have a lot of people to feed, but not a lot of time and/or a tighter budget. When my three younger children are older (and my freezer much bigger), I can see the value this kind of approach brings. However...

I do think that in order for this to work for my family, we'd need a bigger fridge/freezer (we have a 23" built in 2004). Or a chest freezer (which, in all honesty, we would benefit from at this point regardless). Even if you are building up a stash of freezer meals slowly (doing one new recipe a week, for instance), I find it hard to believe there is going to be much room for other things.

Then there is budgetary concerns: most of these recipes call for meat. Meat is expensive. And yeah, I've heard of discount clubs, but a family on a really tight budget might not be able to swing 9lbs of meat for one recipe, even if it's going to save them money in the long run. The problem with buying in bulk is you have to "have" money to "save" money.

My third concern is, what if you made this huge recipe and you hate it? If you're on a tight budget, you can't afford to just give away food that you don't like.

And finally, pictures. This is not a complaint particular to just this book, but most cookbooks: there should be pictures for every recipe. Food, in general, is a very sensory thing. Smell is our first go to sense when it comes to food, but sight is next in line...and the only one you can possibly appeal to in a cookbook. For an already wary cook like myself, pictures go a long way to helping me choose what I'm interested in making, and shoring up my anxieties about whether I prepared it correctly (hey, it looks a lot like the picture!).

In a nutshell, I think I'm probably not the audience for this book, though the initial concept was extremely appealing.

I am a hug fan of meal prepping of all sorts, but especially freezer meal prepping. I am always looking for more exciting recipes to help stock my freezer, and this book did not disappoint! An easy to follow instructional book that tells you all you need to know about the basics of freezer meal cooking. I am going to be buying this for a few of my friends who have been interested in filling their freezers too!

I have received a much appreciated digital copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
