If you’ve never tried batch cooking this cookbook is definitely one you want to read. It has all the information you need from, how to prep beforehand, how to label, best ways to freeze, fixing mistakes and of course a massive selection of recipes for all meats, vegetarian, marinades and sweets and more.
The information is easy to follow and the recipes are easy too. They even have a feast tonight recipe option for some! The only downside is there are not a lot of photos.

Fix, Freeze, Feast 2nd Edition is a great book. It offers recipes for a variety of dishes. I was happy to find not only main dishes, but sides and desserts as well. Instructions for most of the recipes were easy to follow and things my family would eat. I received this book as a digital review copy. I am highly likely to purchase the hardcopy for myself. It lives up to its name and is a great resource for meal planning and freezer cooking! (I have read quite a few meal planning and freezer cooking books. I have also scoured pinterest and the internet for recipes. This book would be one of my top selections.)

This is a very useful book and has a lot of great recipes and meal preparation tips. This is a great cookbook for anybody looking to change their cooking habits, or have more meals ready and prepared on hand to save time, and have great delicious meals even when one is in a rush.

I was looking to start fixing and freezing meals. I had never done it before so when I saw this book I could request I was excited. I loved it there are so many different recipes to try and make. My favorite recipes that I tried were Chicken peanut satay, chicken parmigiana, salsibury meatballs, and cheese steaks. I haven't tried all the recipes yet but I will be continuing to make more from this book since I liked what I have made so far. I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley. I really enjoyed this book and if your looking for new meals to cook and also that you can freeze I would reccomend this book.

I love cookbooks. I have the first edition at home so I thought this would be a nice addition. There are a great amount of recipes that I will actually use and a lot of tips on how to get the most out of your freezer meals.

I really enjoyed the first edition of this book, so I was excited to see they'd updated it! It still contains really great recipes to do all your batch cooking and get your freezer fully stocked. Something I especially appreciate about this book is that it is more than just recipes. It also contains a ton of useful suggestions for the best containers to use, what to do if you make a mistake or your freezer bag breaks open, advice about community cooking, and super handy quick reference guides.

Excellent cookbook! Several great pictures and well-detailed, delicious recipes. Readers/chefs are treated to instructions on how to shop and plan for large-scale meals that may then be divided and frozen. One recipe makes 6 meals! Additionally, book is simply filled with helpful tips. There are even printable labels with instructions on how to reheat. With this tool the practice of "freezer" cooking can help families prepare for busy months, holidays, unexpected guests, and long-term power outages. This is a must-own.
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and Storey Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Seems to be a good cookbook with pictures like I enjoy looking through when deciding what to cook. I like the concept of preparing food to toss in the freezer until needed.

I was excited to see this book and definitely will try some of the recipes, but it wasn’t what I hoped. I hoped for more complete dishes which could be heated up with no further prep. These recipes seem nice but often still involved more work before eating than is ideal for me on w busy day!!

I also struggled a bit with the food bags. Large freezer bags aren’t easily available near me (never seen any in a supermarket!) and I also worried about the environmental implications of the bags.

However, if you have more time for dinner prep than I do and know where to get gallon freezer bags, definitely check this out! The food does sound good!!

This is a great cookbook for a large busy family with a large freezer or someone having a large gathering. The recipes are all fairly simple and straightforward and delicious. It even gives helpful hints on how to prep your kitchen for preparing larger scale recipes and how to best freeze everything. I've use freezer bags for quite some time, but never thought to use the an empty container to stabilize it when filling. Much less splatter and cleanup. Big plus. I made a few and was really quite pleased. As we follow a very low sodium diet I increased some fresh herbs and other spices for flavor and still all was delicious. I think you can follow exactly as written or alter slightly to your own specific tastes and still have successful delicious meals, There are recipes for all times of the day in various cuisines so you no-one gets bored. It really covers almost everything. What is really nice is after a long day to have to only prepare a salad and vegetable while heating up the main course. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants to get away from the freezer sections of the supermarket, but have easy access to frozen meals. I put on an audiobook and cook and am done before I know it. Enjoy!!

As a busy person, I love to cook, but it doesn't always fit in my schedule. I have wanted to freeze ahead meals for a long time, but I've always been concerned about things being mushy or watery when thawed.

This books offers great tips and recipes to help avoid the leftover feelings the first time. I am looking so forward to trying some of these delicious meals.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing a free review copy of the book.

My biggest complaint with this book, and I went in knowing this would be a frustration for me, was that the meals are all huge quantities. It's pretty obvious from the title that this is a bulk meal cookbook, but when you're cooking for one there aren't a whole heck of a lot of options. That said, I still found the recipes good inspiration. I liked how there were tips and tricks on freezing your prepped meals, and how to store them. I DO wish there had been more photos of recipes (I honestly prefer a photo of every recipe), but there were a lot of images. I had the digital review copy, so hopefully in the final print there are more photos.. Like most cookbooks there aren't a lot of vegetarian meals, but I'm used to adapting meals.

The food looked delicious, and as someone prepping for a busy time when freezer meals will be appreciated, I was eager to check this out. However, after closer consideration I think I have much more to think about. Many of these recipes seemed to make a ton of food. I don't think I've ever had 9 lbs of meat in my house at a time, much less tried to prepare it all for freezer meals. And then it's important to consider how much freezer space one has. This book was excellent for providing info about storage (what size container and how long it would stay fresh).

Fix, Freeze, Feast (2nd edition) is cookery book for those who would benefit from batch cookery in their lives when they are short of time. The book gives instructions on how to prepare meals, freeze into portions and then defrost and cook for a family meal.

This book has six sections of recipes including main dishes for chicken, beef, pork and veg & seafood. There are also soups & side dishes, sauces & marinades and breafast, sweets & snacks. There is some colour photography through the book to accompany the recipes.

The introduction explains the beauty of the make-ahead meals, gives tips for successful planning, including shopping, preparation and storage & labelling.

Each recipe is set out well with a list of ingredients and equipment required such as freezer bags. Some of the recipes do not need cooking before freezing, just assembling and once defrosted are cooked in the oven. Some recipes are successfully transferred from the freezer straight to the oven or stove - there is even a handy index at the back which lists these recipes. The majority of the recipes make enough for three portions to be frozen with four serving per portion. Alternatively you could freeze into different portion sizes or scale up or down the recipes dependent on your needs.

More sections I found useful included freezer shelf life, a freezer inventory list which could be photocopied and stickers are available online for the freezer bags.

I like the ideas from this book, especially the cookies, including the well known snickerdoodles, which can be made and frozen in advance and then cooked as required (this recipes makes 7 portions with 12 cookies per batch).

This book has American ingredients, temperatures and measurements with no British alternatives or suggestions.

I received this book from netgalley in return for a honest review.

Concise and organized information that's a definite go-to for someone who's trying to save time with meal planning. The only downer is the lack of pictures. I know they cost more to produce, but I'm a stickler for pics. Still this is a great book for a novice meal planner or someone who wants some new ideas.

This yummy book of 150 recipes that will make dinner time so much easier was awesome. i love how simple this book makes tasty meals so much easier for me. Yes the prep day is a kind of a pain but once it's done you can eat well in very little time. You gather all the ingredients, put them in freezer containers or bags toss them in the freezer and when you know you are looking at a busy day set one of the meals out over night in the refrigerator, toss in a pan when you arrive home and in under 30 minutes you have a home cooked meal ready to serve and eat. Some of the meals are ready crockpot ready as well, just dump the bag or bowl in and when you arrive home you house smells amazing and you can feed your family a yummy home cooked meal, without getting your hands dirty.

I travel a good bit and my poor hubby stays at home. I just returned from a trip and while I was gone I used some of the recipes in this book. I made up the bags and bowls before I left and he was able to have fresh cooked meals without any fuss while I was gone.

Some of the recipes make several meals with one prep. For us since it's just him and I home now, I got 10 to 12 meals instead of 6. On some I just cut the recipe down by halves or quarters, since I do not have a deep freeze anymore to store so many meals. I also cut some way back just to try and see if we liked them or not before I make the full recipe. Waste not want not.

The mango-cranberry chicken is to die for. It was delicious. Next time I will make the full recipe so I can have this on hand. It does have a tiny bite to it but is mild enough even for smaller children. The recipe make 4 meals of 4 servings, and takes 15 to 20 minutes to cook and serve.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

"Fix, Freeze, Feast" is a timely cookbook because meal prepping is all the rage at the moment. I think it's a cookbook that would be useful and well-liked for many people, however, it's not the best cookbook for me personally. I have a two person household, don't really meal prep, and don't eat meat so only the last quarter of the recipes were potentially applicable for me. I'm interested enough in the two sizes of the vegetable lasagna to make one but there is no photo. I hate when there isn't a photo showing the finished recipe for each recipe!
