I have read all of Melody Anne’s books and have loved all of them. She is a great writer of family, love, connection, second chances, pain, loss and happy ever after. I was definitely looking forward to this series and this first book. It does start with a bang as Kian is a trauma surgeon and the first scene is very intense for him. There are a lot of tears and stress in the first few chapters because of what happens to these characters in the beginning of the story. However, the longer I read the more frustrated I became with Roxie, as I just couldn’t like her at all. She was so up and down that she wasn’t even rational at times. She would have hot “love making” with Kian one minute and run as far away from him as she could get the next. I would get so mad with her I wanted to scream! The scene with the bakery “date” was just plain mean to Kian and then she gets mad at him when gets frustrated. I never did get a clear answer as to why she left this great love four years before, as the explanation didn’t fit. She’s all-mad because he slept with her sister but she had left him and he didn’t know who the sister was at the time. The other thing was it was never explained why the man stabbed Roxie’s sister or Lily or maybe I missed it. I did like Kian’s character very much. He certainly had the patience of Job with Roxie and there were some very tender moments with his daughter. This was an okay story, for me just not one of this author’s best. However, this won’t stop me from reading the next one. I received an ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.

Kian & Roxies story starts a new series for Melody Ann, for me I love the previous books, as a go to author, anything, or rather everything I read, this was no exception. Loved the old timers meddling behind the scenes making a couple of appearances - great links to earlier series, setting the tone, and a heads up on how good this is. Star crossed lovers, fated, soul mates maybe, maybe not but when Roxie left without word or warning she broke Kians heart. He shattered and then threw himself into work and women to erase the memories. Roxie is back under distressing circumstances, will they finally find each other, will the oldies win, will the murderer strike again or will Roxie run? Lot of emotion, lots of passion burning up the page, serious page turner, must read.

Kian Forbes is a surgeon who comes from a very wealthy family. Roxie was from the wrong side of the tracks and her and Kian dated until she skipped town without an explanation. So Kian drank hard and had many one-night stands after she left. Four years later Kian gets called in for an emergency ... a pregnant woman and 3 year old child with multiple stab wounds. When the woman tells him she is Roxie's sister and that the little girl is his daughter and she wants him and Roxie to raise her. When Roxie comes back home to bury her sister and look after her niece, she learns that Kian is the father. But when Kian and Roxie's eyes meet, the electricity is still there between them. Will Kian forgive her for leaving him 4 years ago? Will she forgive Kian for being with her sister?
I have so many questions with this book. How did Kian and Roxie start their relationship because he was 9 years older than her, so they weren't high school sweethearts? Even though Kian was a good guy ... why did he sleep around right after Roxie left and why didn't he go look for her? And I still don't quite understand why Roxie left exactly ... sure she felt she was getting lost inside Kian, but why leave her sister and the only home she knew? Although I enjoyed the story, I wish some of these questions would have been answered. I did laugh out loud quite a few times and the sex scenes were very well written ... OK they were really HOT! This book also set up other stories for a series and I will be interested to read the story on Eden and Owen.

Tragedy strikes Kian one night while he is a doctor on duty at the hospital a patient is brought to that he knew from his past. What Kian doesn't know is that his whole life is about to change when he discovers he fathered a child with his ex-girlfriend's sister. Now Kian and his ex-girlfriend need to work together to raise his daughter and her niece. Kian will do anything to protect his daughter and that means re-establishing a relationship with the love of his life Roxie.
This was a great read. I have read many books by this author and this one did not disappoint.

Kian by Melody Anne is the first book in the Undercover Billionaire series, however you will recognize a couple of older rascals in the story (matchmaking men - tsk tsk). Kian is a surgeon, a philanthropist, a surprised father and a chance to unite with the one love of his life.
Roxie Gilbert left home suddenly and without any explanation. Just as suddenly, she has needed to return. Her sister viciously murdered and her niece left abandoned, Roxie returned to take care of her niece. The problems: who murdered her sister, her niece’s father is her old lover, Kian wants Roxie and his daughter.
Kian was a fun read. Melody Anne writes a great romance with a bit of thriller. I find myself totally engrossed in her books. Kian by Melody Anne was a good read.

Roxie Gilbert broke Kian Forbes heart four years ago when she walked out of his life and his answer to mending his broken heart was to spend as many nights with different woman as he could and too work as many hours as a trauma surgeon that was possible without putting patients in danger, he needed to forget. One night a very pregnant patient is bought into the ER and he finds himself trying to save Roxie’s sister and her unborn child, it was a fight he couldn’t win and before she lost her fight for life she told him he had fathered a daughter with her and she needs him to care for his daughter Lily along side Roxie...... The reason Roxie ran was because she couldn’t handle the feelings she had for Kian so how will she feel working along side him bringing up Lily, will she be able to control the love she still has for him to give her niece the life she deserves or will they both realise that what’s best for them and Lily is to admit the love they still feel for each other and put the past behind them and move forward as a family.
This story had me tearing up but the adorable Lily also made me giggle with her perfect one liners, Kian is a man we would all love on our side he is not prepared to give up on Roxie or Lily and he will do what is needed to make Roxie realise she should be with him. I loved this book and I’m looking forward to more in this series.

I loved this book! I read a few of the early reviews and was a bit wary about reading it. However, now that I have read the entire story, I must say I don't agree. Yes, Kian fathers a child with Roxie's sister BUT first, Roxie walked away from Kian leaving him heartbroken. A string of senseless drunken one night stands was the result of that break up. Second, Kian had no idea one of the women he was with was Roxie's sister Pamela. Also, Pamela pursued Kian not the other way around. Sure it's a twisted mess but life is messy at times so it gave the story a real and true feeling that I really enjoyed. I also really liked the way Kian stepped up as soon as he found out he had a child. No pity, no denial. Just acceptance and love for the girl. Overall I thought this was a great read and one I am definitely recommending to everyone.

I must say that I didn't read so intense written book for a long time. It is a story of loss, pain, betrayal, family, and love. Emotionally story which doesn't leave you unaffected. Roxi and Kian are former lovers who are again connected by tragedy. They are a lot of unspoken words but the chemistry and attraction are still off the chart and there are a few times when is stronger than both of them. Both Kian and Roxi are complex characteres, great developed. Kian is the one who knows what he wants and is making it happen. Roxie is still uncertain, but now after all these years she is grown up, stronger and she needs a bit more time to see how really strong she is and that this time she will not fade away but she will stand strong by her man. A great, enjoyable read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

I have read this author’s Turbulent series and liked them. So, when I saw she had a new series starting, I requested this book without completely reading the blurb. Mistake. I am NEVER ok with a hero sleeping with the heroine’s sister.
Roxie and Kian were supposedly completely head over heels for each other when Roxie left town leaving him a very short and not sweet note. It’s 4 years later and Kian is an ER trauma doctor. Roxie’s sister shows up, pregnant, multiple stab wounds and with her dying breath tells Kian he is the father of her 3 year old daughter, who also has multiple stab wounds.
Roxie is notified her sister is in the ER in critical condition and needs to come right away. Roxie arrives to find Kian asleep with her niece.
These two hit it and quit it so many times. Kian seems certain he wants her back while Roxie caves then runs away EVERY time. By a third of the way in I was ready to bang my head on whatever was close by.
Roxie is a sniveling, spineless, gutless, ridiculous woman. She’s 26 now. She left 4 years ago to go to college yet it states she’s been a nurse for 6 years. So much in her timeline didn’t add up. She is from a broken home. Her mom ran off when she was young leaving her and her sister with their alcoholic dad.
Kian is now 35 and an in demand trauma surgeon. He comes from a very wealthy, powerful, tight knit family. Here’s what he reels off when he tells Roxie he’s Lily’s dad: “I drank a lot, partied even more, and yeah, I didn’t care which women I was with. I just wanted to forget you….But I wouldn’t have been on the prowl for anyone else had you been at my side, where I thought you’d always be.” OMG sooo many things wrong with these two sentences. The fact that he used the break up as an excuse for his behavior and then blamed her for his actions! NOT a man I’d want in my life.
These are just a few of my issues with this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher.

Melody Anne's Kian rocked me off my feet! What an intense beginning! Grabbing my emotions in the first few pages and, holding them tightly until the very end!
Kian had it all! A great family, money and Roxie Gilbert. He had fallen for Roxie in a big way. He had his eyes on the future and, included her in that future. Roxie looked at the future in a different light. Her father and sister were a mess. Kian, the man she loved, was headed towards a great career. He knew what he wanted but, she wasn't so sure. She was tired of the way her life was going. I felt she didn't want to be known as just "Kian's Wife" She needed to find her own way! I think she felt smothered. So, she left!
Kian changed after Roxie left. He forged ahead and followed his career path. He was a great surgeon! It was his personal life that took a nose dive. I wondered what would he do if he ever saw Roxie again!? Soon I found out! A mind bending tragedy brought Roxie home.
Redemption, forgiveness, second chances! This book had it all!! I think Melody Anne must have been drained dry of emotions by the time she wrote "The End". Why? Because that is exactly how I felt at the end!

4 star review Kian (Undercover Billionaires #1) by Melody Anne
I enjoyed this book however, it may not be for everyone. What is a man to do when faced with death and fatherhood at the same time? That is the position that Kian Forbes, a surgeon finds himself in when he treats a woman and little girl who have been stabbed multiple times.
Roxie Gilbert’s world is shattered when her sister dies, leaving behind her daughter Lily. Roxie knows that she will assume custody of Lily, but is shocked to find out that the man she once loved, is actually Lily’s father, a fact he only learned moments before her sister’s death.
While I liked Kian, his drunken one night stand with the heroine’s sister bothered me. I also found Roxie to be exceedingly annoying at times. The chemistry between Kian and Roxie was intense, although I felt that there could have been more development of the relationship between Kian and Lily, but that is just my opinion.
Kian wants Roxie and Lily to become his family, but can they both forgive the hurts from the past and move on? I liked Kian’s brothers and I look forward to reading their stories.

I’m a huge fan of Melody Anne and will happily grab and read anything she writes. The blurb had me intrigued and I couldn’t wait to dive in. This story was not my favourite of hers but one I thoroughly enjoyed all the same. Roxie got on my nerves a lot but Kian made this story for me. Looking forward to seeing what’s next.

The start of this book was promising. Trauma surgeon who is not only phenomenal at his profession but also empathetic and caring for each person he treats. I was excited to read it and left disappointed when I finished.
I felt no connection with these characters. There were no layers to be peeled back, the characters were superficial and one dimensional. I liked Kian okay, but Roxie just irritated me to the point of wanting to shake and scream at her for several things (spoiler-y things). She was not a likeable character. Not to mention that I was a little confused as to the other men. Was there another series this one is linked to?
I had a little trouble with the believably of the story line regarding Roxie being an experienced nurse just after four years. And the ending left me with whiplash. The whole book was Roxie hating on Kian then poof - total turnaround.
Overall, I would still recommend this book to others. Everyone has their own tastes and this one just wasn’t for me.

An Emotional Journey!! This story pulled me in and wouldn't let me go until the last word!! Kian is a doctor, a billionaire and very, very sexy! Roxie is a strong, independent, and frustrating woman. At times she drove me nuts but she also broke my heart. Kian & Roxie are handed a situation neither expected and both try to do the best they can to do the right thing while also fighting their attraction to each other. I laughed, I shed a few tears and I definitely swooned during the sexy times. I loved it!!

This book grabbed me from the beginning.
Kian Forbes, a trauma surgeon is treating a trauma victim who makes a death bed confession regarding a one night stand. Roxie Gilbert ran from Kian 4 years ago as she was losing herself. Jealousy and manipulation produces a child. A life of disappointment leads to fear and abandonment. Understanding the circumstances requires hope and patience.
A romantic story of selflessness and forgiveness. Heated reunions, phone sexting made this one HOT read. Love that Joseph Anderson (Billionaire) and Sherman Armstrong (Billionaire Aviators) make appearances to lend a helping hand.
I need to know what happened to Eden and Owen. Can't wait for the next book in this series.

I would give this 3 1/2 stars.
This is definitely an unusual story. Kian and Roxie had been in love and she just up and left him 4 years earlier absolutely gutting him. For a while he turned to booze and women to try and get over her. The initial scene in this book was just insane! I found myself gasping. Kian is a trauma surgeon and Roxie’s sister is brought in full of stab wounds and pregnant but also with her 3 year old in tow who has been hurt too. The bomb she drops on Kian was just that, a huge bomb. She tells him the one night she spent with him resulted in her little girl Lily. She also said she wanted him and her sister Roxie to raise her.
Roxie really annoyed me most of the time. Her reason for leaving Kian all those years ago just didn’t do it for me. I never really connected with her. She also didn’t seem so keen on Kian and Lily having a father/daughter relationship at first. She was afraid she would lose Lily. But Kian, he had such patience and was still so full of love for this woman who hurt him so deeply and for his sweet little girl Lily. He wanted them all to be a family and would do whatever it took to make that happen.
I liked the story but didn’t love it. I will definitely read more of this series though especially if Kian’s brothers are the focus of the series.
I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Kian and Roxie story was different !! A wonderful addition to this author’s series
The tales of this family make me smile. I loved Kian and his warm loving character. He made me want to riot for him. Roxie was a great character also. These two’s story us an enjoyable read.

Wow. I am always wary when it comes to a new series by an author I love and it's clear that some of her other characters may may an appearance but the author should be proud of herself. I loved this book right from the beginning. You could tell it was going to have lots of emotionally stuff in it with angst, fear and a lot of other emotions. We see Kian doing his job as a trauma surgeon having people lives in his hands. A woman and child come in with stabs wounds and he realise it's someone her knows, his ex girlfriends sister and daughter. Unfortunately she doesn't survive and neither does her unborn baby but her daughter, Lily, does.
In comes Roxie, Liam's ex, looking for her sister and neice. She is told the recasting news of her sister but that her neice is alive and doing well. She meets Kian at Lily's bedside and he alludes to the fact that he is Lily's dad. Pamela told him before she passed. What goes on from there is a roller coaster of emotions for Roxie as she tries to clear her brain that she is now the guardian for her neice, her sister is dead and Kian slept with her sister.
I felt for Roxie with her emotions running all over the place and I could of quite happily of slapped Kian for his domineering ways in the way he treated Roxie. He wanted her and wanted to break her but in the next breath he was cold towards her and it made her feel as though he was just sleeping with her to get his child. What more was she supposed to do apart from run. A dangerous time has come as Roxie fears for her life and the life of her neice as the man who murdered her sister comes back. Can Kian save them in time? Will they get a HEA? A lot of emotional turmoil for the heroine in the book that I wouldn't like to go through. Well done on a great start to what will be a great series. Look forward to reading the next book. I voluntarily reviewed this book as an advanced reader copy

This is my first book Melody Anne, and it was a really good one. It’s the first installment in the Undercover Billionaire series, and this one particular centers around a couple that has history, and a tragic incident brings together again, but will it work this time? Or will there just be more heart break?
Kian Forbes, a surgeon and Roxie Gilbert a nurse, were in a serious relationship a few years back. Roxie up and left, with very little notice, or basically little reason why. Drowning his sorrows and having countless one night stands is how Kian dealt with the hurt of Roxie leaving. One night while working, a young woman and her daughter are brought into the hospital. Kian recognises her as Roxie’s sister. He was unable to save her, but her she dies, she tells him the little girl is his daughter.
These two, are something else. But I’ll start with Roxie, she is a mess, she’s lost her sister tragically, she has a niece she doesn’t know and will now be a mother to, and the man she left behind is the father. It would be a lot for anyone to handle in such a short time. She doesn’t Kian, and it is because of his family and their money. How can she compete with that? What if they try to take Lily, the little girl? I can understand her feelings, but some of the rash decisions she makes just makes me want shake some sense into her. But, I might act the same way if I was in the situation, so…
Now, Kian. He is fierce, loyal, determined and from I can tell, he comes from a long line of strong men who are used to being in charge and certainly not losing. When it comes to Roxie though, it’s different. He genuinely loves her with all hisnheart, even after her leaving and time being out of his life. I couldn’t help but love him after seeing him interact with Lily. It was enough to make your heart melt.
Both Kian and Roxie are so stubborn! Roxie tries to keep her distance, she still loves him. Kian wants her close. Seeing the whole story from both sides was amazing. It was heart breaking to follow them, their feelings, the hurt, the loss was evident. But their love for each other and their love for Lily was something beautiful. And we also did get to meet a couple of Kian’s brothers, so maybe the book will be about one them!
Kian is a heartbreaking but such a beautiful story of second chances at love and family. Fans of contemporary romance who like a little push and oukk, will enjoy this one.

I love how the author writes about a billionaire who comes from a loving family who enjoys helping others and are down to earth. This book has very romantic, sexy hot and a little sad. However overall fantastic story! Can't wait for the next one!
