I have read all of BA Paris,s books and loved the way this one gained your attention from the opening chapter.
I enjoyed the way the book flipped between Finn and Layla,s lives and I raced through each characters dialogue to find out what was happening.to each individual and enjoyed the way the author kept you guessing,as the plot darkened and the reader was left wondering till the final few pages. Of course as regular thriller readers we try to guess the plot and I was pleased that as I was sure what was going to happen but each time I thought I’d guessed the plot, the author stepped in and closed that option down which I loved.
The author describes the characters well although sometimes I wasn’t always convinced by their personalities but I thought she cleverly made you like them, then suspect them and was always casting doubt on whether they were trustworthy.
I really enjoyed the book, the plot was different, it was an easy read and I read it very quickly. I think it will appeal to the people who read her previous books and I will recommend it to friends.

I enjoyed this book but it didn't grab me like I thought it would.

Excruciatingly tense and well executed plot that kept me guessing until near the end. Brace yourself for lots of red herrings!

As always enjoyed another one of this author's books. What I like is that whenever I think I know what is happening and think I have it solved the direction changes and I'm back not knowing what is going on always a sign of a good book! Look forward to the next instalment

I hadn't realised that this book was by the same author as Behind Closed Doors. I think I'm going to have to find other other book by B.A Paris as I've enjoyed the other 2 so much.

We start with Layla and Finn in France 12 years ago. They stop at a service station and Finn leaves the car to use the toilet. When he returns, Layla has disappeared. Of course Finn calls the police but we soon discover that Finn didn't exactly tell the entire truth.

Present-day Finn is now engaged, (to Layla's sister, of all people) and he's happy but then things begin to happen, making Finn wonder if perhaps things are going to quickly unravel.

I have lost count of the amount of time that I changed my mind about what was actually going on in this book. Whose telling the truth, who can we trust and just basically, what the hell is going on?
The tension ebbs and flows as you have the story told by both Finn and Layla and it really does keep you guessing.

This is a compulsive read, made more intense by the fact that two people are telling the story. It is very well written even if the character Finn turns out to be a bit of a twit but that is part of its attraction. It is one of these books that you want to read to the end without stopping.

B A Paris is one of my go to authors, whilst I don't think this is as good as her previous two books it is still such a thrill - the last few chapters in particular were brilliant! The story line is unnerving and shocking with a twist that caught me completely off guard.

Thanks to NetGalley, B A Paris and HQ for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A roller-coaster ride of psychological twists and turns!

This is the first time I’ve read a novel by B A Paris and what a treat! This lady certainly sent me on a roller-coaster ride of psychological twists and turns! I love this kind of a book, whereby you just can’t stop turning the pages as the tension mounts.

We are introduced to Finn, a financial wizard, and Layla his girlfriend, who on returning from a holiday in France decide to stop in a dark lay-by so that Finn can take a “comfort break.” When he returns to the car Finn has the shock of his life as Layla has completely disappeared.

From this point onwards the plot explodes! Time moves on by twelve years and the reader is transported between “then” and “now.” Finn ironically has a relationship with Ellen, Layla’s elder sister. Will they be happy together and what is the significance of the ever-increasing smallest Russian dolls which present themselves in a variety of random places?

Could Layla actually be alive after twelve years and how many of the characters are mentally stable? The author writes so convincingly that I felt that my mind was turning somersaults as I romped to the most unusual ending. In fact, the revelations made me go over some paragraphs more than once just in case my eyes were deceiving me! Wow...very clever writing from B A Paris. I shall definitely look out for this author again.

I simply love B. A. Paris’s writing style. Her books are a joy to read and always exceed expectations. Finished this in a day.

Hmm, I enjoyed this book and read it very quickly. I enjoyed the switches between the different characters and felt that it worked very well in building up the tension - however, I was a little unconvinced by the ending, although without giving away the story I can't elaborate! However, overall, very enjoyable.

I absolutely loved this fast paced read with that twist I didn't see coming. WOW.

Finn and Layla are coming back from a skiing holiday when he needs to stop for the toilet. When he returns to the car Layla has vanished! Twelve years on he's in a relationship with her sister Ellen, getting ready to get married and happy.

Suddenly Russian dolls are being left outside the house which have a connection to Ellen and Layla's childhood and Finn starts receiving emails supposedly from Layla. It's a fast paced read which had me on the edge of my seat. Oh and that twist which I didn't see coming. Loved it.

Wow. This is the book I’ve been waiting for. Sometimes and very occasionally you fall upon a thriller that you can’t put down, this is it. I did not fall In love with the characters which is normally a negative for my reviews but that’s how I didn’t spot the plot as it thickened. Totally unput a downable (I know that’s not even a word or two). Excellent writing, perfect chapter lengths for someone like me that struggles with long chapters. All wrapped up in one amazing story. It has it all.

This is a cleverly written thriller with a big twist at the end which I didn't see coming.
In the past Finn was in a relationship with Layla and they lived in Devon. On their way back from France Layla disappears. Fast forward 12 years and Finn is in a relationship with Ellen, Layla's sister and they are planning to marry. Out of the blue a tiny Russian doll appears , one that Layla had stolen from her sister and then more appear on walls, in the local pub and posted to the house. There are sightings of her and it soon becomes apparent that Layla isn't dead and is emailing and following Finn, in the end asking him to get rid of Ellen and giving him 10 days to do so. Does he do what he is asked and is Layla really alive or is someone else doing all this? This is an addictive book and I could't put it down and it kept me guessing right to the final twist. Brilliant.

I thought B A Paris's first book was great, the second was ok and now I can't decide about this one. Yes, it kept me reading as I had to know what happened - but I am not sure that I didn't spot a huge glitch in the whole plot.

However, there is nothing worse than a reviewer with the benefit of hindsight, and I have to say that I did read the whole thing in a couple of sittings, as there were a lot of twists and turns to keep me guessing and second guessing.

It is really difficult to say what happens as I may unwittingly reveal something and spoil the book for you. The story flips between "before" when Finn's girlfriend Layla goes missing and "now" when he is living with his current girlfriend Ellen who happens to be Layla's sister. it also flips to when he first met his girlfriend, Layla - which is "before" but not in sequence. I didn't find the characters relate-able in any way they all appeared to be very cold people and had little back story - but that is probably part of the plot.

I was taken aback by the final solution to what was going on - I found it a little improbable but really good reading. I am giving the book four out of five stars. It is still an ingenious book plot.

My thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins for an advanced copy of the book.

Bring me back...
Finn didn’t tell the truth about what happened to Layla all those years ago but someone knows what he did. Finn, older more experienced than Layla falls in love with her so deeply, but makes a mistake that means he loses her. Unable to really move on, he receives signs that somebody really knows what happened the night Layla disappeared. Bring me back was so intense, I spent all evening (and night) reading so I could have the answers. It’s written so well and you think you know the solution when BAM, you don’t have a clue. A throughly exciting and nerve thrashing read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars.

Wow, loved this book! Read it in a day, it hooked me in straight away and I couldn’t put it down.

Every time I thought I had it all worked out, I realised I didn’t, then when I finally did have the lightbulb moment, the pace of the book was such that I had to stay up way past my bedtime to finish it.

Highly recommended!

Wow!! This book has it all. I absolutely loved it, a great book for me has to, play with my mind, make me think about it even when I'm not reading it, make me doubt myself and make me race through it. The story itself is brilliant crafted, weaving you into it. I don't want to reveal anything about the story incase it spoils it for other readers but I definitely recommend that you get yourself a copy of this book and prepare to be blown away

This is the third book of B A Paris that I have read and what a you page turner it is.
12 Years ago Finn and Layla are on the way back from skiing in Megeve, France. They are driving and stop at a service station. He leaves Layla in the car and goes and uses the bathroom. On the way back he notices that Layla is not in the car and starts looking for her but she seems to have disappeared. Finn drives to the next service station so he can call the police. They never find her.
12 years later, Finn has now moved on a moved away from the cottage in Devon and now in a relationship with Layla’s older sister Ellen. They are engaged and due to be married. Finn gets a phone call from Tony that dealt the disappearance of Layla. He said that his old neighbour Thomas, an elderly man saw Layla. Not only that but small Russian dolls which are similar to one that Layla lost years before keeps turning up at Finns house. Has Layla returned.
This book like the others of B A Paris I have read has gripped me from the very first page. But you don’t realise how good this is and cleverly written it is, until after you read it and go over it in your head. This is one of them books that everyone will be talking about. Well done can’t wait for more.
Thank you HQ and Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review.

Wow - BA Paris has done it again and produced another absolutely fantastic read. I pretty much devoured it in the one sitting and was seriously annoyed that life got in the way of reading it yesterday!!!

Finn’s girlfriend Layla disappeared without a trace on their way back from a skiing trip twelve years ago and has never been found. Finn has moved on and lives in a different part of the country with his new girlfriend, Ellen. Life is good. However, strange goings on lead both him and Ellen to believe that Layla has returned. Could it be or is someone messing with their heads? This book will consume you as you race through it in order to learn the truth.

On more than one occasion I was sure I had ‘solved’ the mystery only for my theory to be blown out of the water. Towards the end I did have my suspicions and while I was proved right it didn’t detract from the ending.

I can not recommend this book enough.

Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Holy Moly! The 'Do Not Disturb’ sign was definitely displayed (mentally if not physically) while I read Bring Me Back! Seriously, if this book had been edible, I would have made myself ill devouring it!

British couple Finn and his girlfriend Layla, are on their way home from a skiing trip in France when he pulls into a secluded, dimly lit area late at night to use the restroom. When he returns to the car Layla is nowhere to be found!

Fast forward 12 years and Finn has moved on with his life, in fact he’s now in a relationship with Layla’s sister Ellen, and they’re living happily together in a picturesque Cotswold village. However, knowing how B A Paris's previous books played out, I knew that this idyllic situation wasn't going to last! Someone claiming to be Layla contacts Finn by email, and also begins leaving Russian dolls outside his house and sending them in the mail. These dolls have huge significance for Layla and Ellen, but is it really Layla, who’s behind it?

My oh my, who’d have thought that Russian dolls could have such frightening significance! This was a fantastic storyline, and for me it was the plot rather than the characters that was the star of the show, and literally had me holding my breath at times. The tension began on page one and really never let up, with the author using misdirection - smoke and mirrors to maximum effect, and though I kind of guessed where it was heading, it didn't pan out exactly as I thought it would, which meant I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Utterly gripping!
