A fast-paced novel that drives you on to read it in one sitting. Layla, one of two sisters from the remote island of Lewis, turns up in London on New Year's Eve with nowhere to stay. FInn offers to help. They fall in love but 15 months later ,as they travel back through France, Layla disappears. FInn tries desperately to find her but to no avail. Twelve years later he has moved on and is in a relationship with Ellen [ Layla's sister] and they are planning their marriage. At this point strange things start to happen. Finn receives email, seemingly from Layla, and is gradually drawn in to trying to meet her. His relationship with Ellen suffers as he struggles with the decision as to whom he should choose should the situation arise. In his troubled state he becomes suspicious of everyone and moves from crisis to crisis. Eventually what happened to Layla becomes clear but is too late? Set aside a few hours and enjoy the read.

Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris is a mesmerising psychological thriller that will mess with your mind, raise your pulse and make sure you sleep with the light on. It was absolutely fabulous.
How would you feel if suddenly after twelve years, it appeared someone you loved had returned from the dead? Who is messing with your ordered life? Who can you trust? Can you even trust your own eyes?
The novel is about uncovering the truth. But what is truth? Even the reader begins to doubt as we read through the novel.
The characters were well drawn and likable. The action was puzzling, verging on chilling at times. Using the literary device of 'before' and 'after', the reader slowly uncovers the action but the ending was jaw dropping. Can you predict what is to come?
I read Bring Me Back in just one sitting. It had me totally absorbed, bed would have to wait until I reached the end. It is not a book to read alone or in the dark... unless you are sure no one is outside.
A fabulous, if creepy at times, read that messed with my mind.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Having loved the first two books i read by this author i was hesitant with this one, fearing it wouldn't be as good. I shouldn't have been worried. I'm good at predicting twists and working them out ahead of time but i did not see this one coming at all. It never even occurred to me and i am still floored hours later. Such amazing story telling, i'm going to go back and reread it because i loved it so much.

Wow what a brilliant psychological thriller, crammed with suspense! Although I couldn't put it down, I tried not to race through so that I wouldn't miss any of the twists and turns in the plot that kept me guessing until the end.

Twelve years ago Layla disappeared and initially her partner Finn was the prime suspect until evidence to the contrary appeared. Now Finn is due to marry Layla's sister, Ellen, and Layla is not happy.
Initially Finn narrates but then Layla's voice alternates so we hear both sides of the story. The secrets, lies, twists and turns in this book will keep you reading and just when you think you know what has happened another surprise will rocket you in another direction.
Although I felt that the momentum dropped a little half way through I still recommend this as an excellent read that will keep you guessing right to the end..

Twelve years ago, Finn’s girlfriend Layla disappeared late one night from a deserted car park in France. Finn was cleared of any involvement... but he hasn’t told the whole truth about what happened that night.

Over a decade later Finn hasn’t forgotten Layla - far from it - but he’s moved on, with a new home and relationship... with Layla’s sister Ellen. They’re even planning to marry. But strange things start to happen. Russian dolls (a connection from the sisters’ childhood) are appearing, mysterious emails arriving. Can Layla really be back? And if so, what does she want?

Bring Me Back is definitely a good read - I’ll admit I didn’t see where it was going (and along with Finn, was thoroughly deceived at a couple of points). Things did flag a little in the middle, however, when there seemed to be Russian dolls and cryptic emails popping up right, left and centre without apparently moving the story on very much.

All in all an intriguing read which did keep me guessing but could have been more tightly written at times.

This is the third out of three highly original and enjoyable novels that I have read by this author. I was so pleased when my copy was delivered to me after my request to NetGalley and publisher HQ for an ARC e-copy of ‘Bring Me Back’ to review. I was not disappointed at all. It was full of intrigue, fast paced and one narrator was hugely unreliable. It was just the sort of off-the-wall mystery stories that I love most of all. In short I lapped it up and never once guessed what the ending would be. It was a tense and puzzling psychological thriller where lies abounded and several characters fitted the bill for the perpetrator of the tense and worrying crime, if indeed there was one. I loved the storytelling and the varying contributions that the skilfully crafted characters made to the story. Their involvement was an enigma to me, as I’m sure the author intended.
Finn and his girlfriend Layla were returning from their skiing holiday and were passing through France on their way home. Taking a toilet break at a roadside public toilet, Finn is terrified when he returns to their car to find Layla is nowhere to be seen. The night is pitch black, but never-the-less he starts searching for her to no avail. He notices scuff marks by their car and then finds the tiniest Russian doll discarded on the rough ground near the car. It’s Layla’s, he knows that, but it is very dear to her and she would never have left it behind voluntarily unless as a sign to him that she had been made to leave. He has no mobile signal at all, so he journeys on to raise the alarm, but despite exhaustive searches both sides of the channel, Layla is not found. Eventually Finn accepts that she must be dead and organises a memorial service for her and this is when he meets her sister Ellen.
Years go by and more than a decade later Ellen and Finn get together. They decide to marry and place an engagement notice in the newspaper. This is the point that Ellen and Finn’s worst nightmares begin. Someone places a tiny Russian doll on their wall. Ellen is convinced they exactly match the one that Layla had lost when she disappeared. She cannot believe anything but that Layla has returned. They talk about it together but suddenly things take a turn for the worse…..
I was totally invested in this novel even more than that I couldn’t bear to put it down. I made various predictions as the story developed, but I was miles wide of the mark. I was suspicious of everyone until I reached the very end, and then I was totally incredulous, surprised and shocked by the final few pages. It was an incredible solution to the story, but I did not like it one iota, although others will. It is a good job we are all different. It’s a well deserved 4* review from me and I was well and truly taken in.

This book started well and had me gripped from the first chapter. Finn and Layla have been together 15 months and are driving home through France on their way back from a skiing trip. They stop at a remote rest stop where Finn leaves Layla in the car while he goes to the toilet. When he returns she has disappeared.

Finn is suspected of murder but no body is ever found and eventually Finn gets on with his life. A decade later he starts dating Layla’s sister, Ellen, and they become an item. That is all going smoothly until about 15 months into their relationship strange things starts happening which may or may not be Layla’s doing – a odd sighting here and there and emails. A set of Russian dolls also figure highly in these sightings. At this point I got bored with the story as it felt like it was the same things happening repetitively and there was a lot of going around in circles. I kept reading because I wanted to know how it ended but I wasn’t overly surprised by it as at one point it seemed to me that the ending was quite obvious which takes the thrill our of the reading.

It was a very readable but I’d have preferred more varied mystery and intrigue along the way and more background on the main characters.

With thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin UK for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

B A Paris has excelled in this book with every single twist and turn, I never saw the actual ending coming! What a finish!! Well worth every moment spent reading this book.

The book opens 12 years ago the night Layla goes missing. It moves between then and now and we come to know what happened as Finn tells his story. And now he’s with Ellen and they’re going to get married but then the dolls appear and the emails arrive and there’s more to what happened twelve years ago than even Finn realised and it’s bringing the past right back.

Using different narrators we are led through this twisting, turning and, ultimately, rather sad tale. Even though you may not be to engaged with all the characters and there are some frustrating elements when common sense should kick in, but that would make for a different type of story, there’s enough here to keep the reader going because even if you think you’ve worked it out, and maybe you’ve got it right, you still have just enough doubt to want to know you are right. You still want the why and how.

It’s a good read, well-written and there are plenty of readers out there who will love it.

Rating: 3.5*

With thanks to HarperCollins-HQ via NetGalley for this eARC in return for an honest opinion.

I was really looking forward to reading this book as I love the author’s sense of menace and ability to build tension to the point where I find myself shouting in my head ‘stop please’. I found both these elements weren’t as gripping in Bring Me Back. I didn’t particularly like any of the characters which probably contributed to my lack of engagement. However I appreciate a well crafted story, well written and one that kept me slightly off balance. I’m looking forward to the next one.

Having read all of the other books by B A Paris and was looking forward to reading this latest book. However for me it didn't quite deliver as the previous books did.Finn has moved on with his life after his girlfriend Layla disappears on a trip back from France. Now twelve years later and living with Layla's sister Ellen strange things start to occur and objects are left for them to find and e mails start to arrive which gets Finn thinking that Layla has returned. It is a good read but i just thought it did drag on a little towards the end and i found myself not really caring what the ending would be.Sorry but for me not the best book by B A Paris.

This is the third book I've read by this author, a gripping story, whilst I'd figured out the ending quite early on it didn't put me off. Another cracking read.

A young British couple are driving through France on holiday when they stop at secluded area to use the toilets. He leaves his girlfriend, Layla, asleep in the passenger seat. When he returns, Layla is missing. Panic-stricken, Finn searches for her, but there is no sign of Layla.

Fast forward ten years later, he's engaged to be married; he's happy, and his past is only a tiny part his life now. Until he comes home from work and finds his new wife-to-be, Ellen, who is sitting on the sofa. She's turning something over in her fingers. Something that would have no worth to anyone else, something only he and she would know about because Ellen is the sister of his missing first love Layla.

The book is split into two main parts with the beginning of the chapters noted as "Before" and "Now", the past and the present, this was a massive help in building the tension and intrigue, as more and more questions are raised, their relationship becomes strained. Has Layla somehow come back to haunt him after all this time? Or is the person who took her playing games with his mind?

I lost count of how many times I was convinced I had guessed the Who, What & Why, before quickly changing my mind. The book was brilliant, it gripped me from the outset and I raced through the pages as I wanted to know what happened, a great story with exceptional writing which I have now come to expect from this author.

Five stars from me - loved it, such a brilliant book and already looking forward to the next book from this excellent author.

Many thanks to NetGalley and HQ for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for a fair and honest review

Disappointingly I had guessed the twist in this novel by the halfway point which made me feel quite cross with myself as i was enjoying the writing and the way the narrative was put together! The nuances of the plot kept my interest however and i feel the author has another best seller on their hands

It is ten years since Finn’s girlfriend Layla disappeared in a French car park on the way home from a skiing trip. He is about to marry her sister, Ellen. Then strange things happen as a missing tiny Russian doll re-appears, followed by more identical dolls. A doll Eleanor believes Layla took years before. Has Layla returned or does someone else have a strange vendetta against the couple.
Wow just wow – BA Paris is a fabulous storyteller and certainly knows how to keep the reader enthralled. I literally could not put this one down.
A racing, rollercoaster of a book, full of dark secrets, twists and turns, based on the views of different narrators who may or not be reliable! We are kept guessing right until that twisted end!
Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for a review copy of the book.

Bring Me Back, told alternately by the main characters, is full of twists and turns. Guessing some of these correctly, before the characters reach the same conclusions, does not detract from the story. A full cast of unlikeable and unreliable characters keep the tension high from the start until the satisfactory ending. a quick read, pages almost turn themselves.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via Netgalley, I exchange for an honest review.

I struggled with this book a little, not because the story dragged but because i had a hard time connecting with any of the characters. I didn't like Finn, I was incredibly suspicious of him from the very beginning, more so after realising he lied to the police. I didn't like Layla particularly, found her to be very flighty and manipulating. And Ellen, she just seemed to be the quiet doormat in Finn's life. Despite that, I found the book to be utterly gripping.

This isn't my first time reading a book by Paris, I have read both of her previous books and thoroughly enjoyed them, so I had an a good idea of what I was getting myself in to when I requested a copy of this for review, and perhaps it was because of this I knew fairly early on, the truth of Layla's disappearance. I had thought that it may spoil the book for me, but I found Paris had kept quite a few secrets hidden that aren't revealed until the final pages of the book.

Paris has yet again provided us the reader with a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat til the end and will not disappoint.

I pounced on this book the moment I saw it; based on my previous readings of ALL this author's previous books it was a no-miss opportunity, and it went straight to the top of my 'to read' list.
And wow, she's just gone and done it again with another thumping good book!
Finn, Layla and Ellen are the love triangle around which the story is based. Ellen and Layla are the sisters who fall for the same man. Finn is the lover; of dubious temperament and prone to violent outbursts of rage.
When Layla and Finn meet unexpectedly one night, for Finn it is love at first sight. He and Layla quickly become inseparable, until one night after an argument, Layla disappears without a trace. Implicated and interviewed by the authorities regarding Layla's mysterious disappearance, but cleared due to lack of evidence, Finn lives with the guilt surrounding their last few hours together, and when he meets Layla's sister Ellen he is determined to make a success of their relationship, despite the media negativity surrounding their union.
Twelve years on and engaged to Ellen, Finn finally feels he can put his past well and truly behind him and move on...
...Layla however, appears to have other ideas!
For me, the beauty of this book is in its simplicity. Without giving too much away we are not inundated with numerous characters' voices and points of view, any number of date changes or complicated ends that need tying up. Maybe I am a little slower on the take up than other readers, but it wasn't until very near the end that I had my 'aha!' moment, and I think, due to the author's cues, that I was supposed to have that moment when I did! B.A. Paris cleverly maintains the tension and build up, and her characters although likeable, are imbued with enough character flaws for us, the readers, to never quite be entirely sure of their actions or motives.
I loved it; four stars from me.

This book ad me glued to it from the very first chapter and it kept me engrossed until the very last page. Finn fell in love with Layla from the first time he saw her but after a holiday she goes missing on their way home and has not been seen since, but that was 10 years ago and now he is settled with Ellen who happens to be Layla's sister and yet it seems that Finn knows more about her disappearane than he is telling. Their happy life is about to be shattered but why? and who is doing it?there are so many secrets and lies that you will not be sure who to believe and just as you think the tension cannot possible build any more, something else is thrown in the mix.
I would like to thank Netgalley for the copy of the book.
