Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

I really enjoy books about motherhood so when I saw Helen had brought out a sequel to this book I added it to my tbr and I flew through this. I loved the women's friendship and the way they were so supportive with each other and no matter where life took them that never changed. I really enjoyed Molly's point of view and loved hearing about her life. I must admit to finding Emily a bit materialistic, and naive about labour, motherhood. Despite this she does really care about her friends and family. I'm going straight into the next one and already I hope there's more to come after the sequel.

Thanks goes to net galley and the publishers for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

As a new mum this was completely relatable and a great read during many hours awake in the middle of the night!

Oh my goodness! I did not realise just how good this book would be! I would have to say its definately one of my favourite books this year!

It is incredibly relatable and absolutely addictive you will just be so hooked on it that you will not be able to stop reading this!

The 3 women are so fabulous each very unique in their own ways and so lovable they are clearly the very best of friends from childhood and are so lucky that their friendship has survived and now they are all at milestones in their lives. Approaching 30 and oh boy has 30 a whole lot in store for them.

Im just love this book! Please please please write another Helen!

I couldn’t finish this book. I got to 24% but I really struggled with the bad language (which reminded me of a teenager swearing excessively because they think it is cool) and also how much one of the characters moans about her pregnancy. One big moan fest! Sorry, not for me. Life is too short to read books I am not enjoying. I won’t post this review anywhere though as I don’t like to be unsupportive to authors.

Quite an enjoyable and fairly funny book. Not quite as good as I was hoping but a nice light-hearted read.

Emily is finally expecting a baby and she is so excited, except her pregnancy is not as blissful as she thought, dealing with nausea, excessive sweating, and mood swings that make her feel murderous towards husband Paul. Her best friend Molly has just discovered she is pregnant, too. She is more relaxed than Emily, although she is freaking out a bit over moving in with boyfriend Tom. Meanwhile, their friend Liz is busy breaking up with her married boyfriend, being made partner in her law firm, and wondering about her feelings for her Thor-lookalike colleague, Gerald.

From the blogger behind Just a Normal Mummy, this is an enjoyable novel about three friends in their thirties who are struggling with their feelings over having a family, having a partner, and growing up. The storyline is nothing new and there aren’t many surprises, nevertheless it is still an entertaining and fun read. I particularly enjoyed the WhatsUp chats between the three friends.

This book was very interesting, especially as I have never given birth. It was interesting to see the 2 different experiences these girls experienced. I enjoyed the banter between the girls. I found it did drag for the last 1/4 of the book. But overall enjoyed it.

As the mother of an almost 14 month old toddler I am familiar with the mummy blogger tribes that fill instagram feeds with honest pictures, witty captions and links to hilarious blog posts. In fact, some of these bloggers helped me through some of the lonelier days of my year long maternity leave so when I saw that Helen Wallen of "Just a Normal Mummy" had turned her hand to fiction I couldn't wait to get reading.

"Baby Boom!" is written in the same warm, inclusive, yet honest tone of the blog. It's not a book interested in choosing sides when it comes to the best way of parenting, or even handling pregnancy and for that reason it was a refreshing read. Following three best friends in their late twenties/early thirties, two of whom become pregnant in very different situations, the book explores the highs and lows of pregnancy, relationships and motherhood.

For me, one of the nicest parts of this book was the friendship between Emily, Liz and Molly which was portrayed in the most natural and real way. Their Whatsapp conversations were hilarious to read and really made me feel as if I were a part of their friendship. Most strikingly though was the fact that at no point did the book become about them falling out. Before reading this book I didn't realise how big a feature of women's literature best friends having arguments is. Of course friends do argue, but in this instance it was just nice to have three women, in very different situations supporting each other in the best way they could above all else.

The only part of this book I didn't love was the poetry at the beginning of each chapter which I find a bit twee. This type of poetry isn't to my taste and I felt like they were a bit unneccesary to the book. However, I know a lot of "Just a Normal Mummy's" followers enjoy her poetry within her blog so I understand why it has been included.

I wish I'd had this book to read on maternity leave, in that stretch of time before you have your first baby when you finish work and have nothing to do but wait for your baby to be born. That time when you only really want to be occupied by baby related things but also need to stop thinking about your impending labour before you go mad. It's the perfect escapism and I will be buying a copy for any pregnant friends in future to enjoy.

This book was a big let down right from the start.

I really thought that it would be more about the baby and not the pregnancy.

It would have been nicer to have had more story on the new parents and how they are finding being parents for the first time.

I don’t like to leave negative reviews but I just couldn’t get info this book, I got to 60% and I couldn’t finish it.
Would definitely suit someone who likes a light hearted read, just not for me sorry.

I enjoyed parts of it a lot, but I felt as if it focused too much on the pregnancy instead of the baby-raising. I thought it would be a mix of both given the title. I think I would have liked it more if the gave birth halfway through and then focused a bit more on being new parents and all the pitfalls that come with. Also, Liz’s story felt really disconnected with the other two, even though they were all friends. Like the funny WhatsApp chats, but all in all I was a bit disappointed.
