Oh Netgalley and publishers you have just teased me to death! That was just what I needed a little bit of Lou back in my life, what a brilliant character. A great start to what is going to be a highly anticipated read of 2018.
Written well, easy to read and devour. Just missing the rest of the book now ;) Hint. It made me go - Oh here we go what trouble is she going to get herself in this time? I cannot wait to get my hands on this book and see what lies ahead. Thank you for letting me read the first chapter.
I'd like to start of with a big thank you to Netgalley, JoJo Moyes and Michael Joseph Publishers, for allowing me to read this early release chapter of JoJo Moyes' upcoming sequel #StillMe, in exchange for an honest review.
This book is set to be released on 25/01/2018 in all bookshops and online.
I received a copy of this today and as soon as I opened my Kindle I was hooked by the very first line. I am a massive fan of JoJo Moyes, and was over the moon when the opportunity to read the first chapter of her new book became available.
It was great to be back experiencing the world of Lou as she starts her new journey in New York City working for the Gopniks. What I love most about Louisa is her inability to ramble to the point of insanity which only endears her to me more. I am now hooked once again and I can assure you this book will be on my birthday wish list!
Five stars to JoJo Moyes and I look forward to expanding on my review next year.
Louisa is in New York and about to start working for a new family being a companion for a woman with depression. Louisa is still her usual bubbly, clumsy and lovely self, full of self doubt and uncertainty but with a willingness to succeed and try new things. It is lovely to go back to her work life and see how a non-romantic relationship will pan out for her. She certainly is not what you would usually expect from the staff in a house like that, but hopefully will be bringing some much needed life to the task. Jojo’s descriptions of New York bring the park and the streets to your doorstep. That feeling of stepping out of the house into a completely different world seemed like it was written for a film. Jojo Moyes always gives her readers evocative descriptions to make them feel at home in the story straight away. I can’t wait to read more!
Ah what a perfect start that first chapter was. There truly is something fantastic about Lou Clark she's such a brilliant character to read about and it's just so easy to slip into her quirky world again I adored diving into this short chapter teaser and I cannot wait until this book is released!!!
I am so excited to find out what happens to Louisa. This is the next chapter after losing the live of her life. After discovering Will's daughter and a new love interest; where will her new life in New York take Her? I can't wait to find out!
I loved Me Before You (but haven't seen the film.) I was a little disappointed in the sequel but the first chapter of this third episode is exciting. It offers a Lou who has returned to her quirky best and I'm glad Nathan is back. I also loved the way she cracked the grumpy man at passport control. I hope there are more vivid bit parts like him! He felt like a rounded character after just a few paragraphs. I am eager to read what happens next to our truly hapless heroine!
Jojo Moyes has done it again and reeled me into Lou Clark’s story. No book has moved me as much as ‘Me Before You’ so naturally I want to know what the latest instalment of Lou’s life will bring.
Despite only being a chapter long I could not devour it quick enough even though I knew I’d be devastated when I came to the end of the chapter because I knew my greedy self would want more.
Lou’s arrival in America and her experience with customs actually had me laughing out loud especially when she was describing how she could have been called lunacy.
I loved the constant referral to Will and Sam as I like the familiarity of old characters but I also think they Will will always be a major part of the story.
I cannot wait to read on when the book is released to find out what Lou’s new charge Mrs Gopnik will be like and also to see if she really does say yes to everything that comes her way.
I’m hooked after one chapter. Is it January yet?
Reading this sampler of Jojo Moyes next novel ‘Still Me’ has made me even more excited for its release early next year. Lou is back and is as wonderful as ever, now beginning a new life in New York. This first chapter has really whetted my appetite, and I can’t wait to read what happens next! I’ve had a love/hate relationship with this series of books, but I adore Lou and would love to see her finally get her happy ever after.
Jojo Moyes is an exceptional writer who has the ability to write memorable characters who come alive on the page. I eagerly await everything she writes, even when I know she is most likely going to break my heart all over again. ‘Still Me’ is one of my most anticipated reads of 2018.
No how could you give us one, just one chapter and leave us hanging? I absolutely adore the first two books and I literally can not wait for this one to be released. I love louisa she's hilarious I want to dress like her and visit her family but I'll just have to do that through these books.. I honestly can't wait to read this book, no matter what I'm reading when this is released it'll be put on the back burner until I devour this one (probably in a single sitting) what I've read so far has left me wanting desperately to get my hands on a copy and see if lou finally gets her well deserved happy ending
This has got to be one of the most eagerly awaited sequels and if the first chapter is anything to go by then it won't disappoint. We are reintroduced to Lou is just about to start a Jon in NYC. Within the first five minutes you are laughing at her escapades in getting through customs. Can't wait for the book to come out in January a must read.
After previously reading and loving the last 2 books (Me Before You and After You), seeing the chapter sample of this book excited me.
Already we are thrown into Louisa's world as we experience the book (like the previous two) from her first-person perspective. In this book, it is to do with her adventure in New York, as she's getting her life back together still after losing Will by working for another family caring for an older woman. Louisa continues to be the lovable, slightly bonkers character we've grown to love through the previous novels which is something I'm very happy about, but already we can tell she's happier and she's really getting life back together.
Obviously, as this is only a chapter sample we don't know too much about what she's going to have to do for her job, but we experience her arriving in New York and adjusting slightly to the change in scenery. She has such a positive perspective on life and I do think Will previously helped with that and it is just amazing. The way that Louisa is written just makes her such a lovely character to read from the perspective from, and I love her care for her family and for others and I love that she's different and a little awkward. Her style hasn't changed and she hasn't changed other than becoming happier. She's a character you really feel for so getting the chance to read from her perspective once again is very exciting.
This little chapter giving a snippet into her new life has definitely made me very very excited for this book to come out and I can already tell it'll be one I will absolutely adore, as I have with the previous novels by Jojo Moyes, who is an extremely talented writer. This is coming from someone who has one of her favourite series of all time being this series.
This first chapter sampler of the third instalment in the me before you trilogy is too short to get anything more than a taste of what the book will be, but it's already bursting with JoJo Moyes' wit and trademark humour. Louisa is just as awkward and adorable as ever, and as she embarks on a new adventure of being a companion to the wealthy mrs Gopnik. This first chapter shows us Lou experiencing the first heady days in New York, reintroduces us to Nathan, the gorgeous kiwi companion from the first book, and also cranky housekeeper ilaria, who I suspect will be a source of much humour. Although still me isn't out until next January, I'm looking forward to it already, and hoping that it will be as good as the first book was. Plenty of potential, but the actual book remains to be seen!
At last, Lou Clark is back. She’s the girl we all fell in love with, laughed and cried with, now on. New adventure in New York. What could be better?
Thank you Jojo Moyes.
The third installment of Jojo Moyes’ “Me Before You” & “After You” series of books, sees Lou Clarke arriving in the big apple, NYC, she’s finally faced her fears and is off on an adventure, out of her comfort zone! She has got a new job working for a family in Manhattan, alongside Nathan again and has left her boyfriend Sam at home.
Lou’s quirky awkwardness that we all know and love shines through from the very first sentence she speaks to the customs officer. What a great first chapter, I actually wish I’d never read it as it’s made me so impatient to read more! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I’ll be off now to re read Me Before You and After You in preperation for this ones release!
Jo Jo Moyes has such a wonderful way with words. Lou is in New York for the next episode in her life time adventure. It looks like this will be as fab a book as the previous two in the series. I cant wait to read the rest of Still Me
I didn't realise how much I needed another Louisa Clark book until I read the first chapter of Still Me. The style of writing and character is so familiar and almost comforting to read. Although it has been a while since I read After You, the ending of the last book came flooding back to me and I am so excited to read the rest of this book!
This taster chapter has everything that's to love about Lou and her life and left me bereft again that I couldn't read more. I cannot wait to read the rest of the book.
Obviously I can't review the whole book but if the rest is as good as the taster then it will be brilliant. After You is my favourite ever sequel and it's fabulous to see a third Lou book. She's true to get character in this taster and other old favourites crop up briefly.
It's so lovely to be back with Lizzy ! I have missed her! Here we find her starting her new job in New York from the first chapter I was hooked again! Jo Jo Moyes writes with fun and compassion, it's like having a chat with an old friend! Can't wait for the rest of the book!
I have been waiting impatiently for the continuation of Lou’s story and this first chapter really does whet the appetite. I cannot wait to find out what happens next and meet the new clients properly and more of Nathan too. This book can’t come quick enough !!!
The first chapter of STILL ME pulls the reader in immediately with the chaotic personality that is Louisa Clarke as she arrive in America. Still Me picks up where After You left off and this first chapter of her new adventure, arriving at her new job and accommodation is exciting and also slightly mysterious. It was good to see Lou connect with Nathan again. I cannot wait to read this next part of the journey for Lou.
