Once I got ahold of all the characters, this was a fun read- as secrets of a person's true antecedents are revealed, events are set in motion that are violent and shocking. The way this story is told, we get to see the perspectives of each of the players and how they perceive the people and events are around them.
There are some really nasty people that in their drive to get what they feel is their birthright take advantage and abuse those unfortunate enough to get in their field of vision. As the good guys chase the truth, the hidden identities and double crosses, the futility of trying to get away with crime becomes clear.
The clever couple that chase the crimes are smart, and witty.
Fun read, a bit lightweight.
Two fathers have kept their past hidden from their son but the son finds out that something happened and confront the dad. This seems to set off a series of events that change the life of the sons. The story takes us through the sons' stories of revenge for what their own life could have been. Then Gordon calls Skye & Fergal to investigate the disappearance of Diane Hammill. Her disappearance brings them to the history behind these two young men and takes us back to the Spanish Civil War and to who should be the heir to the fortune left by Warwick Eden when he is killed. There are many twists and turns with the exposure of the plans of Guy who is the nephew to Warwick.
