Really enjoyed this one! Alice Ross has such a cosy and addictive way with words. I loved the warm undertone of the characters journeys alongside the ticklish humour. A lovely little read.
Fantastic content from a wonderful author. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
The three stories of Connie, Trish and Kate were funny, witty, charming and quick to read.
This is a delightful book! It is three books in one and is the complete story of the Cotswold's Cookery Club which is so fun to read from cover to cover.
Connie is forty and starting over after leaving her cheating boyfriend and her job in the city. She has moved to the Cotswold's to a idyllic small village and opens a Cotswold's Cookery Club with other women friends. Each women has a story and the women all bond over similar circumstances and female friendships. The club consist of cooking, recipe sharing and wine. Each women needs more friendships in their lives and soon the group become close. However the small town holds many surprises for them and soon each has new and exciting events in their lives.
I loved this book. The bond of friendship is strong theme throughout and the club is a delight. The recipes are to die for and I loved the lovely setting. . A wonderful afternoon read from cover to cover.
Thank you for the ARC which did not influence my review. Well Done to the author.
Nice to have the series in one book. If you haven’t finished the series here is your chance to catch up on the stories three women.
This was a great book 1 in the Cotswolds cookery Club series. Connie heads to Cotswolds to house and dog sit for a friend who is traveling for 6 months to Australia. Since she had to move back home with her parents after finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman and having her 30+ birthday, she needs to find some new friends and a new job. To solve the friend problem she starts a dinner club and is lucky to get Melody, Kate and Eleanor to come to dinner. Over the next few months the girls help each other and become very close. This is a fun story. Looking forward to picking up the next few books by Alice Ross.
Excellent book. Brilliant story and I loved the main characters. I would highly recommend this book.
The Cotswolds Cookery Club was originally published as a three-part serial. This is the complete story in one package. This book is so much fun and full of chaos which I can see you Mom's of toddlers shaking your head in empathy with Kate. She is a vet in Cotswolds and has nursery age daughter and 2 year old totally out of control twins. It's all fun though when you're just reading about it though and it's not your own children. Connie has had enough of her cheating boyfriend, the city, her job and jumps at the chance to live her own life starting with her dreams. Viloa, she comes up with the brilliant plan to open Cotswolds Cookery Club. By word of mouth ladies join and not only have cooking lessons and have fun doing it but make important lasting friendships. This book had me laughing out loud on practically every page and so glad some of these things where just in this book and not in my life. It's easier to laugh about things in a book rather than happening to you and that's the beauty of books! Absolutely loved this!

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ Digital for a review copy in exchange for my honest review.
Enjoyed thr 1st 2 stories in this book more than the final one.
This book is actually a compilation of three serial novellas… just so you know… because I was thrown for a loop when I finished the first novella at 34%, previously having thought it was a novel, and wondering what the heck the other 66% could be! Now that that’s sorted…
I really enjoyed these entertaining novellas, each focusing on one member of the casual, put-together-on-a-whim, friendly club of women who like to cook. Alice Ross did a wonderful job making the friendships come to life and drawing the reader into each woman’s joys and pains. These are lighthearted stories, though there are a few heavy-hearted conversations among the friends about love, marriage, and children.
As an aside, I found it pretty awesome that one of the recipes a character makes is Patatas Bravas – the same dish my teenager had to make as part of a group project for her high school Spanish class.
So… each story has some seriousness, some playfulness, and a couple of out-loud laughs, but my most favorite happily ever after was in book 3 when karma makes an appearance, and the comeuppance is delish.
New author for me, but when I read the blurb for this book, which is three short stories put together to form a complete book, I couldn't wait to read it as it sounded like I'd be in for a treat.
What a delightful and enjoyable read. Full of lovely characters, yummy food and the perfect setting, the Cotswolds. Not to mention adorable greyhound Eric who jumps at pretty much everything and a fair few hot men, all makes for a perfect read.
I thoroughly loved getting to know all of the different characters and members of the Cotswolds Cookery club, and discovering where each of their stories would take them.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, seeing how it all comes together and ultimately ends for each of the characters. I've loved every page of it, all of the characters were so well written and believable and I've completely fallen in love with the Cotswolds. Sounds like the perfect place to live.
I was sad for the book to come to an end as it meant saying good bye to all of the wonderful characters but alas all good things must come to an end eventually.
I can highly recommend this book, as it was such a delightful read from start to finish.
This book was a light, delightful, and delicious read and I enjoyed it immensely. The dishes they made caused my mouth to water and caused some serious cravings. This was really well written and I will absolutely be looking for other books from this author.
The version I read was the three shorter books in one set. I enjoyed being able to go from one book right onto the next without having to switch books.
Each short book was told through a different woman’s perspective and I was really drawn into of their worlds. Each one had major issues going on but their lives were made so much better by the cookery club. I loved each of the women in this book, and most of the men, with obvious exceptions.
I loved how each of these books turned out and would definitely recommend these books to anyone who enjoys cooking, or reading about cooking!
*I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. A positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.*
Loved this book and read it in one sitting! This is the first in a series of books of the Cotswold Cookery Club , having read the second one thought it was about time I started at the beginning!!
Connie is living at her parents house after splitting up from a 5 year relationship, she jumps at the chance to house sit for a friend for 6 months in a lovely village in the Cotswolds. She decides to combine her love with cooking and trying to meet some new people by starting a cookery club. There are 4 women in the group and the series of books goes into their lives .
If you enjoy a relaxing read this is one for you - off to read the other ones now!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this book
Three intertwined stories of a group of women living in a Cotswold village. The cookery club starts when Connie moves to the village to housesit for a friend and wants a way of meeting new people and making friends.
A story of friendship.
Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. Fun, sexy and made me laugh. Loved it
This is the collection of a really super set of book in the Cotswold Cookey club series- where a group of friends share life, friendship and themed cookery evenings. I had actually read the previous books in the series and will add my reviews here. I can't wait to get a paper copy for my bookshelves!
Connie takes advantage of her friends offer to house sit her wonderful house in the Cotswolds when they go to work abroad for 6 months. She’s a proof reader who can work from home. She’s also looking after their rescue greyhound who is very nervy.
She sets up a cookery club with a couple of ladies that the newsagent knows and the four ladies are soon enjoying evenings with delicious food, copious amounts of wine and healing friendships. They all host an evening based on an Italian theme and the menus make your mouth water and wish that you could set up a similar club with your friends. It actually did make me want to reboot my new recipe challenge and maybe it needs a revamp with a country theme!
The friends share many feelings and Connie has a feeling that Kate’s marriage may not be all it seems, Melody is feeling like a fish out of water in the Cotswolds. Having married an older man she is meeting resistance from all the locals who think she is a gold digger. She is yearning for a baby- but this new group of friends is really boosting her confidence and letting her spread her wings a little.
I am so looking forward to hearing about more evenings with the cookery club and the treats they have in store for us.
2.This was a lovely return to the cookery club. Trish was the new member to join in with the Spanish theme.
After splitting with her husband and having teenage hormones rampaging all over her house , she is pleased to have an excuse to spend time with the other ladies and they soon become firm friends.
It's such a wonderful idea, to have themed nights with a bunch of friends to share confidences and a glass or two of wine.
These books leave you with a lovely warm feeling of friendship with the hint of romance in the air aswell. I can't wait to read the last book in the series and will be sad to leave the cookery club members behind.
3.This is the final book in the Cotswold Cookery club series and I will be so sad to say goodbye to the bunch of friends who meet up to share themed cookery evenings where they share friendship alongside delicious recipes.
This one concentrates on French recipes and in particular Kate's life and issues. She's a harried mum of 3 and feels unable to cope with everyday life in the same way that the supermums at nursery seem to excel at. She owns the local vet surgery and has to get a new locum, she suspects her husband is having an affair with their aupair and her little girl seems to want to live at her friends house.
Her friends rally round and provide huge support and the occasional babysitting to help her feel like her own person for a while. You can just cheer them all along whilst they are getting ready for the bake sale and can imagine the faces on the other mums because they'd expected her to fail.
It really makes you want to move to the Cotswolds to find a similar group of friends to spend time with.
I really enjoyed this novel as it was originally published- in three section- and highly recommend this compilation if you haven't read the Cookery series. Ross has created some lovely women in Connie, Trish, and Kate. I especially appreciated that they all came to the Club with different experiences and that they ranged in age. If you like sweet stories with a happy ending, this is one for you. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.
I absolutely loved this series - the books took me away from the day to day norm and I spent a lovely few hours each night with the different characters.
The writing style was brilliant as I have come to expect from Alice and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing from cover to cover - a charming story with some fantastic and very likable characters that I loved - it is a brilliant story and no hesitation in giving it 5 stars!!!
I received an Advanced Reader Copy from NetGalley for my unbiased opinion of the book. I love that they put these three wonderful books into one!! I have recently read the three books individually and again all together. They are still wonderful. I hope the adventures continue with the club, I would hate for it to end here. I want to hear more about Connie, Kate, and Trish. If Trish's daughter posted a video or something of the three women were doing at a club meeting and it went viral! The fun and shenanigans that followed would be great to read about!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed this isn't the last we hear from these aspiring galloping gourmets.
