This was an interesting book that I'm not sure if I liked. The blurb said it "will make you laugh, love and cheer for one Southern peach with a pit of steel". I kept waiting for that to happen but I never really warmed up to our main character. In fact, I think more time taken on developing all the characters would have been beneficial. I guess this one was just not for me.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher and in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC ebook from Netgalley. I read this book while on a summer holiday at the beach and it was a perfect fit. As others have mentioned it is refreshing to have a heroine who is a single career woman in her 50s.

Georgia is inevitably passed over for promotion due to the machinations of the old boys club, and herein starts the drama. At times the storyline is a tad melodramatic and some of the ‘villains’ are stereotyped. However it was an enjoyable story and kept me engaged.

I wanted to see more of Georgia’s mother - there’s a book in there!

(Just now looking at the cover, I suddenly realised that what I thought was a sausage was in fact a ‘pickle’! Being Tasmanian I hadn’t got the reference, because what we would call' pickle(s)' is a jar of (homemade) relish! Joys of regional language.)

Like Peaches and Pickles by Muriel Ellis Pritchett is a cute romantic comedy that takes place on a college campus. Georgia Davis is 55, and she has her life all planned out, until they don't work out. Peaches and Pickles was a fun book, but I enjoyed this authors book Making Lemonade better. I really enjoy that both book have heroins who are 50+, after all new adventures start for them than. I will be reading more of Ms. Pritchett's books.

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy from NetGalley for my unbiased opinion of the book. I love this book. I could identify with Georgia. Her and I are a lot a like. It is refreshing and I wish there are more stories geared to people 50+. Georgia gets fired due to the old boy network. She tries doing the right thing but it didn't work out in the past and now she gets even! It was great seeing her find the backbone she always had and now put it into action and becomes a stronger person because of it!!! She figures out what she wants in life for a change instead of what everyone else wants and grabs life by the balls!!!
