Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and Milly Johnson for my ARC of The Perfectly Imperfect Woman.
I've always loved Milly Johnson's Books since I read a sampler of It's Raining Men which was being given out at Waterstones in Meadowhall. I also have a soft spot for Milly being a fellow Yorkshire Woman, I'm originally from Rotherham which isn't far from Barnsley and I work in Sheffield where some of this story is set.
Anyway, I digress. What I want to say is that The Perfectly Imperfectly Woman was by far my favourite of Milly's Books. I love her rom-com style and this book had that, but it was also an unputdownable mystery as well!
Marnie Salt has her dream job as head of Marketing for a beverage company, she fully intends to rise to the top of the company and be CEO one day, because why shouldn't a woman be able to do that?? Marnie's had a pretty tough life with an unpleasant family, disastrous love affairs and failed friendships, what she really needs is a break and someone to lean on and be there for her. That's when she meets Lilian, a lovely old lady, on a cheesecake forum and finds her life changing dramatically.

When a crisis strikes and Marnie needs to escape from home and Work, Lilian offers a refuge in Little Raspberrys a cottage in the village that Lilian owns; Wychwell. Seemingly the perfect quiet getaway, Marnie soon discovers that there is more to Village life than meets the eye, and many secrets buried behind the peaceful, quaint facade.

When I say this book was gripping, it feels weird because although I absolutely love Milly's Books and this isn't a criticism, the stories are definitely usually more in the romantic comedy genre, this has that element but the mysteries unfolding in Wychwell are just too good, I found myself desperate to pick it up constantly making work today a real struggle! Milly's oldest fans and newbies alike are going to adore The Perfectly Imperfect Woman and I urge you to read it!
Also, Milly? Please write the Country Manors Books! Hehe
