Fantastic book with major twists! Loved every second of it. Definitely add this to your reading list. Can't wait for more by this author. Thank u for writing such a fab book and letting me review it.
This book had me gripped almost from the beginning. You had to wonder why Emily put up with what she did, but when it became clear, it was completely unexpected.
A thoroughly enjoyable read which I found difficult to put down. Emily meets Adam in a bar. They fall in love and plan to marry then Emily meets his mother! This is a fantastic psychological thriller with a twist you won't see coming. A fabulous debut novel and can't wait for the author's next book.
This was a thoroughly entertaining book. The twist at the end was perfectly executed and the characters and story were developed well. Would recommend to any mystery or thriller readers.
This is a fantastic addictive read. It had me going to sleep late and waking up early to finish!!!
Emily meets the man of her dreams Adam but his mother Pammy seems to want to do everything she can to spoil their relationship.
I ambled reading at the beginning of this book thinking I had the plot figured out but boy was I wrong. A few unexpected twists and turns had be guessing and wanting to find out more. The ending was fantastic.
This did not read like a debut novel it was amazing. I’ll be looking out for more by Sandie Jones and recommending her to my friends,
A cleverly written debut thriller with lots of twists and turns. I’ve just finished it now and the ending was fantastic.
I’d definitely read more from this author in future.
his is a very good debut novel by author Sandie Jones that makes me eagerly anticipate further books from this new thriller writer.
Emily falls in love with Adam and there is no doubt in her mind that she has found her true love. But circumstances change when she encounters the other woman, Pammie. Pammie is Adam's mother and seems to be on a mission to keep them apart, but how far will she go to succeed.
This psychological thriller is full of good characters and I found it compelling with its well paced plot that kept me wanting to find out more.
I would like to thank Net Galley and Pan for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
This book sounded intriguing, because I think we have all experienced that person who appears really nice, but you know is really putting you down. However, all the way through the book I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that I had read this book before. Clearly I haven't as it hasn't been released yet, but I do think that it has picked up its cues from other books with a similar theme.
The book is pure from the perspective of Emily, so the other characters are never really fleshed out or give any reason for their actions. I found Emily such a frustrating character and I struggled to understand that she was completely unaware that she was being manipulated and controlled by Adam.
It's a quick read, nothing complicated or taxing and if you ignore the inconsistencies scattered throughout then I would recommend this as a holiday read.
Thanks go to the publishers and net galley for the advanced copy in return for an honest review.
The Other Woman is the debut book by Sandie Jones and is an excellent psychological thriller that grips you from the start,Emily meets Adam and soon finds herself in a loving relationship but she hasn't taken into account Adams mum Pammie who seems hellbent on ruining Emily's happiness any way she can, when James,Adams brother also enters Emily's life she starts to doubt her love for Adam and whether it would be best to call it a day with Adam as Pammie's interfering reaches new heights. The book had me gripped from the first page and the ending when it came was thriller writing at it's best.I look forward to reading more from Sandie Jones if this what she can produce for her debut novel.A great 5 star read !
This is an absolutely stunning read. I'm going to be extra careful with this review as I don't want to spoil this read for anyone else!
Emily Havistock is attending a work conference when, at the bar, she meets a man who jumps the queue to be served. Having been badly burnt before in a relationship, she is surprised to find him attractive - and to discover that it's reciprocated. Very quickly they become inseparable and make plans to move in together.
When things seem almost too good to be true, they usually are - right? Well, no surprises here then! When things move on and Adam introduces Emily to his mother, Pammie, she seems like a nice - if rather domineering mother. And that, my friends, is only the beginning . . .
I'm the kind of reader who takes each book as it comes - if I work out where the book is going then it really has to be staring me in the face. I enjoy each read for what it is, seldom comparing or overthinking the story. This one drew me in hook, line and sinker. It is exceptionally well written .. each event continuing on at a fair pace from the previous one and with enough content to keep even the most curious reader happy. Mothers-in-law are a breed unto themselves at times .. I was exceptionally lucky with mine and I aim to follow her example. But believe me, Pammie is a piece of work!
The Other Woman isn't a novel any reader will forget in a hurry; in fact, it has put Sandie Jones on my list as an author to not only follow but to read her next book as soon as I can get my hot little hands on it! Needless to say, I recommend this book wholeheartedly.
My sincere thanks to publishers Pan Macmillan for approving my copy via NetGalley. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.
This book was really well written as I was reading I could feel myself getting more and more frustrated with Emily for staying in the situation. The writer had me right inside the story. Very enjoyable with all the little twists and turns
Wow, this is a stunner of a novel. I loved it. The ending took me by surprise, I can honestly say I never saw that coming.
Without giving too much away, when Emily the main character meets a new guy Adam and he is her Mr Right, it all goes downhill when she meets Pammie, Adam's Mum. Talk about the mother in law from hell, meet Pammie! Emily tries her best to outwit her but is thwarted at every turn. Well done Sandie!!
Emily is single and in a bar when she meets Adam. He is charming, attractive and the man of her dreams. As their relationship develops she meets his Mum, Pammie ‘The Other Woman’. Emily didn’t bank on having to come up against the controlling woman at every turn. What develops is a thrilling plot which keeps you turning the pages until late into the night. I really enjoyed this book, it was easy to read and compelling, with a fresh feel to it. The plot was intriguing and it has a fab ending. A great debut novel.
This book was provided to me by NetGalley in exchange for a review. Don't want to give a thing away. Read this book. Now!! SO great! You won't be able to put it down! Loved!!!
Absolutely fabulous nail bitingly good. What a ride and what great writing. I’m off to tell all my friends about this book. Thank you, thank you. Can’t wait to read more by this very talented author
A very cleverly written thriller with a totally unexpected ending. Emily meets Adam and Adams mother is the mother in law nobody wants. She does not want Adam to marry Emily and does everything she can to stop the wedding.
Absolutely fantastic book. Couldn't wait to get to the end , I think I read this in record time. Well recommend this too anyone. .
What a book!! I really enjoyed this throughout and the plot twist through me right off in an amazing way! Well done Sandie Jones, #TheOtherWoman is a winner!
One of those books that has you gripped from the first page and you can’t put it down!!!! Emily meets Adam and falls in love but she has a big problem....the mother in law to end all mother in laws!!! A gripping book which you will love!
I LOVED this book! I absolutely sped through The Other Woman. I really like all of the characters and how they written, each was easily distinguished from the other. I particularly identified with Emily, she was very relatable and I found myself nodding along in agreement. A lot of her thoughts would have been mine exactly. Pammie was another fantastic character - I was completely taken in by how cruel she was and often gritted my teeth in her moments with Emily. Let's just say I'm very grateful my own MIL is a very nice lady!
About 60% through the book, I thought I had it all figured out and was almost a bit disappointed but a few twists them completely knocked me for six. I can't recommend this book enough and I'm looking forward to reading other peoples thoughts. If you like B A Paris's work and Michelle Frances’ psychological thriller The Girlfriend, you will adore this too.
