Set in the 1900's we follow a young girl named Jerusha who has been abandoned by her Mother.
As her life takes it's course we get to see how time again unfortunately she seems to keep loosing the people she holds dear when she is just starting to be content. But finally it must be her turn for some good luck surely? and is traveller Joe the one to break her run of bad luck?.
I enjoyed this comforting tale. The characterisation was good and the scene was set well.
Although the ending was predictable it brought the story to a satisfactory ending.
A book I would recommend.
My thanks go to the author, publisher and Netgalley in providing this arc in return for a honest review. (

Jerusha is brought up in a large house in London, but at the age of 7 her mother leaves Jerusha and places her in a boarding school, with the intent if she doesn't come back collect her daughter her cousin Valentine or her friend Oliver will take responsibility for Jerusha and her life.

The boarding school has to close and Jerusha can't live with her cousin or with Oliver because of there circumstance so she is put adopted into a husband and wifes care in London, (they don't really want her but they are paid well to look after her).

And so Jerusha life continues being moved from their care after 2 years when something happens.

Jerusha meets Dan the farmer who is much older and they fall in love and Jerusha marries Dan and live on their farm, but Dan suddenly dies which means Jerusha is alone again, until Joe arrives is this the happy ending Jerusha always dreamed of or is there more heartache to follow??

Well written with lots of twists and turns.

A little far-fetched in places particularly with Jerusha's actions but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I've read many of Sheila Newberry's books in the past and this one is just as good as the others. Really enjoyed it.

I have just finished reading The girl with No Home by Sheila Newberry. I was kindly given a copy of the book by the publisher for an honest review.

This book is about Jerusha, who at the age of 7 is abandoned by her mother and put into a boarding school, it is set in the early 1900. Although she is abandoned by her mother she has a guardian Oliver who oversees her care. The story tells of Jerusha life and although she has a hard time, there are people in her life who look out and care for her along the way.

This book is very well written and it did keep me interested right to the end so I would happily give this book 4 stars but at times I did find it lacking something. If you enjoy family dramas I would recommend this book. I would like a squeal to the story as I would like to find out what else happens in Jerusha's life and the rest of her family.

Review: I really enjoyed this book.

As you read the book you follow Jerusha through different parts of her life. We see her cope with loneliness, hope, love, happiness and lose. The way this book is written enables you to really get to know the main character deeply and you do feel like you are right there with them feeling every emotion.

This book is a brilliant historical novel showing great resilience in difficult times.

The girl with no home is set at the start of the 20th century. Jerusha's story is that of resilience, her strength and good nature.
It reflected the way of life in simpler times, which were surprisingly more open minded than today in some aspects. I enjoyed going back to a simpler time at the start of 20th century England.
