This is a good book about a mom travelling on her own when her children have moved out on their own, The author hoped to encourage others to travel solo and see the world through her adventures. This is a journal of the author's travels and her adventures around the world. It is nice to see a different perspective in travel writing aside from the everyday guidebooks.

Detailed writing about the author’s journey overseas to visit her children with her suitcase, known as George. Fun read, but some stories drug on too much.

This was a nice read but just seemed to long.
There is only so much you can read about someone travelling around the same country.

Vivian was at loose ends when her children left England to travel. She decided to travel to Australia and visit. This was the start of her journey with her trusty suitcase George. She’s a lot braver and more adventurous than me and I enjoyed reading her journal style book.

I enjoyed this book but not as much as I thought I would based on the synopsis and the delightful book cover. What an inspiring journey the author undertakes . I do wish there was more detail and depth In her prose. I enjoyed what was there - I just wish there was more.

Thank you for the opportunity to read 'Travels with George'. Unfortunately, I did not finish it as I found the style a bit too 'jolly hockey sticks' for my liking. I was also disappointed that the author explained (more than once) that everything could have changed since her travels as they were 10 years ago.

I was intrigued by the cover of this book. I thought it would be a fun, light, adventure read. And it was that! As Vivienne's debut book. I think it was a very simple recollection of her own experiences. I enjoyed the layout of the book, including the sketches. In my opinion the story lacked depth and in some sections, I found myself bored and wanting to flip ahead. I do appreciate solo travel myself and I enjoy how encouraging this story is of solo travel!
