I would firstly like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I thought I knew exactly what was gonna happen going into this book, but boy was I wrong! What a twist!!!
A seemingly simple relatable plot, with a few shocking twists! Definitely a must-read!

I think teenage me would’ve loved this but unfortunately I just didn’t get into this one! It was well written, just not for me on this occasion.

This book has also been released under the title of Ghosted. Believe me, however, there are no ghouls or spirits here, with ghosted refering to the urban term for cutting off all communication with someone. This is a captivating story not just of love, but also of secrets, self-discovery and new beginnings. We meet Sarah and Eddie. They only met 6 days before but for both of them it was a classic case of ‘Love at First Sight’! They have to leave each other for pre-organised plans, but Sarah says she will meet Eddie at the airport when he returns from his holiday. For an unknown reason, Eddie isn’t there. Neither is he answering his phone or returning her calls. As the story moves on, we see the heartbreak for Sarah, confused as to what has happened.

The story is told mainly from Sarah’s point of view, with Eddie’s story coming in later in the book. I honestly didn’t see where this book was going initially, even though the author drops little hints in as the story continues. I was so blinded by the upset and confusion Sarah was going through that I failed to see what was going to happen until it actually did! Now, of course you will need to read the book to find out what I’m talking about, but it’s safe to say it was a fabulous turn in the story. It certainly explained everything and tied up all the loose ends perfectly. I loved how I was kept in suspense for parts of the story, leading me to question what was happening and yet for others it was all so easy to read. For me, the first quarter of the book was a little slow starting, but it didn’t take long for it to pick up the pace where I found myself captivated by the story.

The two main characters, Sarah and Eddie were complemented so well with a wonderful array of other characters! I loved Sarah’s friend, Jen and really connected with her storyline. I also shed a few tears over Sarah and her sister, Hannah’s relationship. The author has touched on so many difficult subjects – loss, grief, infertility, mental health to name but a few – but all were written so sensitively that they tugged on my heartstrings at every turn of the page. This was a beautifully written story, with an ending which certainly made me smile. If, like me, you find it a bit of a slow starter, then stick with it as it will definitely be worth it tenfold! Would certainly recommend, and I’ll be looking out for more by this author!

"Imagine you meet a man, spend six glorious days together, and fall in love. And it’s mutual: you’ve never been so certain of anything.
So when he leaves for a long-booked holiday and promises to call from the airport, you have no cause to doubt him. But he doesn’t call.

What do you do when you finally discover you're right? That there is a reason -- and that reason is the one thing you didn't share with each other?"

This is an intriguing book right from the beginning, and although several times I was sure I had worked out the secret, it still kept alluding me right up until nearly the end of the story. Very enjoyable, hard to put down, written in short easy to read chapters and a lovely conclusion. Perfect summer time garden or beach light reading.

I liked this, but did think there would be more to the twist. I loved Eddie and Sarah. Sarah had a good group of friends around her. I'd love to see a book about Sarahs friend Jenni. I'm Looking forward to Rosie's next book.

I'm torn how I feel about this. I had never in a million years expected the twist coming, and I love when a book really takes me aback.

However, as much as I loved Sarah's friends, I wasn't so in love with her. Ghosting is pretty prevalent in the dating world, and I feel if she was 10/15 years younger she would have been more enabled to deal with it.

Not the light and fluffy read I expected, definitely had a little more meat to it. But the characters let it down for me unfortunately.

Imagine you meet the man of your dreams and then he goes on a holiday and doesnt get back in touch afterwards. This is a warm, wonderful romance with a great story and a twist at the end.

I'm completely and utterly in love with this book and I plan to recommend it to pretty much everyone I know. It's women's fiction with the pace and grip of a thriller, and so full of heart. I've been unable to tear myself away from it for the past couple of days, and I was racing to the end to find out exactly what happened, but now that it's over I know I'm going to feel a bit bereft for a while, the way you do when you've finished a really great book.

Walsh tells Sarah and Eddie's story beautifully, giving both characters a voice and pulling the rug from under the reader's feet a couple of times with twists that are so satisfying and unexpected. And all the lesser characters have been well fleshed-out, from Sarah's close friends to both characters' families.

There's a big mystery at the heart of this book, and it's centred on why Eddie doesn't call after he and Sarah spend a perfect week together, falling in love. But it's so much more than that, too. It's about family and grief and mental illness and second chances, and the kind of love you dream about finding. I'll be impatiently waiting for Rosie Walsh to write another book, and I'm sure I won't be the only one.

I thought this book would be a light-hearted piece of chick-lit, but it’s so much more than that. It is warm, beautiful, heart-breaking, heart wrenching and is full of twists and turns that keep you hooked. I must admit that the first half was a little slow, but half way through, with the first twist, I just couldn’t put the book down. Don’t assume anything with book! The author writes in such a clever way that has you convinced that you know what is going on and then suddenly you realise that it’s the complete opposite. It’s a beautifully stunning book and the characters will stay with me for quite some time.

What a wonderful read this was , a slow start , I kept picking it up and putting it down until my sister told me to persevere with it , and I’m so glad I did . Brilliantly written , heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time , an excellent twist that I got totally wrong . Just fantastic . 5 stars from me .

I didn't expect this novel to be so emotional - I'd assumed it would be more of a light and fluffy read, perhaps partly due to the cover, but once I started reading I realised that this is a truly gripping, absorbing and really well crafted.

The characters are believable and convincing, with main protagonist Sarah coming across as a likable and someone who doesn't fit into a typical 'category' of person. She isn't someone who'd usually become so obsessed over a one-week 'fling', but as we hear it all from her point of view, we're right there with her and we have the chance to understand why she feels the way she does about Eddie.

I read this book in almost one solid sitting, and really wanted to know why Eddie had suddenly disappeared from Sarah's life. I swung from hating him to suddenly feeling confused, and though I guessed part of what had happened, this wasn't at all the actual correct conslusion, which I felt really satisfied with.

There's so much more to this story than just your average contemporary romance/ 'chick-lit'-style read; it's so much deeper than that. There are some truly emotional parts and some real surprises along the way.

Rosie Walsh has written a fantastic debut here, mixing elements of romance and relationships with modern-life dating and the many ways grief can take a hold of someones life. It's punchy, emotional, and heartwrenching - an absorbing read!

With thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the book in exchange for an honest review.
I think it may be an age thing but I didn’t really enjoy this book or find it romantic just tedious.
I am sure that many other readers in the 20/40 age bracket will find this an entertaining read.

I thought this started of quite slow. I’m glad I carried on though. This was quite heartwarming after the twist in the middle. Wasn’t too keen on the switch in timelines but I got used to it. I’m not into the whole love at first sight but this was a really sweet story and I’d love to read more from this author

The man who didn't call is a book I started off not really liking all that much but couldn't get enough after halfway through when I realised all that I had read I had merely presumed what I was reading was right but not ready at all for the twist halfway and totally changed my perception of this book.
This is the first book I have read where the title made me want to read it instead of the cover as I have to say this cover does nothing for me. The book is based around Sarah and Eddie, two people who meet, spend an intense few days together, struggle to be parted, love each other, even after a few days then Eddie goes on holiday and Sarah never hears from him again. Sarah is not prepared to let this go as she thinks he's had an accident and comes up with multiple reasons why hasn't called and this book follows the highs and lows of Sarahs journey to reconnect with Eddie.
A read that got better and better the more I connected with the main characters.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Pan Macmillan, Mantle for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.
