Wow! That was intense.. what a brilliant book! Absolutely loved it, definitely kept me guessing right til the very end.

Sophie was nearly 16 when she disappeared without a trace. Her mother Kate has never given up on finding her alive. One night whilst at her volunteer work at aHelpline she receives a call from her daughter... and this time Kate is determined to get to the truth.

Highly recommend this book! thank you to Orion Publishing and NetGalley and TBC on Facebook for a copy of this book to read and enjoy in exchange for my honest opinions

I seem to be having a good run of books the last few weeks and this book has continued that trend
The book follows a Mum’s desperate attempts to find her daughter Sophie who went missing a couple of years ago.... everyone is or wants to give up on finding her but her Mum wont, and then she receives a call at the Missing Persons hotline she volunteers at.......she thinks its Sophie......but everyone else thinks shes imagining it......
The book then takes you on a raw journey of the Mum’s quest to find her and what she uncovers along the way is truly shocking, she learns she cannot trust anyone..........except herself
It is a tense, dark, exciting, I hate to say rollercoaster so will say log flume of a ride through highs and lows until the shocking finale...
Brilliantly written, great characters and a no let up’ on the story make a brilliant read and one you wont forget in a hurry
Sensitive subjects are covered and handled well throughout the book and I really did get the feeling of how it would feel to have a loved one missing such is the writers descriptive writing and ability to draw you in and keep you there
A fantastic read and one you wont be able to leave alone until you find out just what really DID happen to Sophie
10/10 5 stars

From the very first page I was gripped. A well written, fast paced psychological thriller with plenty of twists and turns. Each time I thought I knew what was going on, it veered off into another direction.
Well developed characters who were interesting and credible. I particularly liked Kate and the way her strong belief that her daughter was still alive, drove her to search out the truth.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for an honest and independent review.

Where the missing go is a wonderful, action packed thrilling read.
Kate and Mark Harlow's daughter, Sophie has been missing for 2 years. Throughout this time Kate has never given up hope that Sophie would come home, she's not satisfied with the postcards she's received confirming Sophie is safe and well. Kate is existing, not living and it seems everyone around her,has moved on with their lives, and accepted that Sophie is somewhere else living her life. One night while she is manning a charity help line for missing children she get's a call and is 100% sure it' Sophie, and what Sophie says does not make Kate feel calm and relieved but confirms her belief that Sophie is not happy and want's to come home. The book covers the fall out from that call and the impact it has on Sophie's family and friends. I read this book in two sittings as I could not put it down. The pace and prose flowed so clearly and masterfully that you are swept along with the story, ensuring that even you, the reader, will question Kate's sanity. Emma Rowley is a wonderful writer and I can't wait to read what she'll write next.

Thank you netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Kate's living day to day in the aftermath of her daughter's disappearance. Her marriage has broken down and she exists not living fully. One day she receives a call at the missing person hotline she works for and its her daughter, Sophie. Kate sets out to investigate her daughter's case and find her.

At first you feel for Kate existing in a painful works reexamining everything and think get on with it woman and then you get consumed by the story. It's so well written it was an absolute gift to read. A huge thumbs up and book club recommended.

Picking up up a new book is rather like opening a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get until you sink your teeth it to it, sometime you are left feeling disappointed and yet other times you find the perfect combination and it leaves you wanting more, rather like Where The Missing Go. What a breathtakingly brilliant psychological thriller this one turned out to be I absolutely loved every twisted page. I feel I should mention it’s Emma Rowley’s debut novel, but what an exciting new voice in the psychological thriller genre and definitely an author to watch out for in the future

Harrowing & Haunting.

This is a thriller that pulls on the heart strings whilst it chills you to the bone.
I relished the slow unfurling of the opening pages becoming more and more engrossed until suddenly It had me in its grip. Dual narratives weave a story that is harrowing and haunting. Transfixed by twist after twist I frantically turned page after page with an unyielding urge to find out the truth. Kate’s narrative consumed me, I felt her hope and her loss, her despair and her strength. A mother’s love is unlike any other and it is perfectly captured within these pages.

Thank you so much to the Publisher and to NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review, highly recommended.

2018 has been full of great reads for me so far, this one is added to that list for sure. The book is set in 3 different parts, each part better than the last. Emma had me gripped with this book, I felt as though I was part of the book itself - you know that feeling you got as a child, where you had done something naughty and you were waiting for your parents to find out? Thats the feeling I got with this book, it had me gripped that much. I would highly recommend this book to everyone, its a brilliant read.

So this little book managed to jump to the top of my toppling TBR pile because I had heard such great things about it and it was highly recommended by a friend. (Thanks Jo!)

Personally I thought this was a fantastic debut and has all the ingredients of a truly gripping psychological thriller. The characters were all well developed and believable, the story was full of twists, turns and several red herrings and kept me entertained from start to finish.

Where the Missing Go is about Kate, a mother whose only daughter “ran away” 2 years ago but Kate can’t let go, she doesn’t believe her Sophie would leave and when she gets a call one night at the Missing Persons Helpline she volunteers at Kate recognises Sophie’s voice and so begins her investigation to find her missing daughter.

If you like your books full of twists and turns with a fast paced plot line then you will thoroughly love this book.

The only reason this is a 4.5 star review and not 5 stars is because there were several similarities to other books I’ve read but won’t mention as they would spoil this book for you.

"Where The Missing Go" by Emma Rowley is a superb debut psychological thriller which I highly loved.
There were red herrings, twists and turns scattered throughout, the author very cleverly points the finger at one suspect after another only to throw the reader right off track!
The characters are very well formed, description is full and a pure delight to read. An exciting "keep you up all night" book.
I very much look forward to more books by this great author. Fabulous!

A fantastic book written with so much sensitivity. A mother trying to figure out why her daughter would leave her and examines her relationship with her. I only wish it came with a warning- do not start this book at 10pm.. you will be up till 1:30am finishing it!

Kate’s daughter Sophie went missing over two years ago and the case has closed down assuming that she ran away. People keep telling Kate she needs to move on with her life but she just can’t believe that Sophie would run away.
One Saturday night while volunteering at a missing persons helpline she gets a call from a girl she is certain is Sophie and sets out to find the truth of what really happened to her daughter.
A fast paced read, with believable characters and lots of twists and turns along the way. I really enjoyed this one and hope to read more by this Author.

Well, I usually take at least a week to read a book. When I got this one I was already reading 2 other books. Page one, I was hooked and just kept reading it. I felt so much pain and longing in these written words just had to keep reading it until I found the outcome. The book was so well written that you were put on the wrong track even though you were convinced that you were right. I envy anyone who is yet to read it.

When Kate and Mark Harlows daughter Sophie goes missing weeks after her sixteenth birthday the search goes on but after two years and little evidence the case is slowing down, its looking increasingly unlikely they will ever see Sophie again. It’s also taking its toll on their marriage they have split under the strain.
Kate keeps herself busy by helping out on a charity helpline who will pass on messages to family and friends to stop them worrying that’s with the missing persons authority. It’s during one of her night shifts that she gets a call the line is very crackly it’s really hard to hear but with Kate’s persuasion the caller says she wants her parents to know she’s ok but she won’t be back when Kate asked their names it was Kate and Mark Har.... then the line went dead. Kate knew that voice it was Sophie she had called.
Kate goes to the police to update them strange things are happening around her. She decides to make a plan she arranges to meet Sophie’s best friend Holly just to see if there’s anything that’s maybe been overlooked before. They have their coffee Kate discovers Holly is now dating Danny Sophie’s boyfriend also that things the girls told her before were lies. She starts to wonder if she’s imagining things did she really receive a call at work? Did Sophie really leave of her own free will or is there something more sinister going on.
I really enjoyed this book felt it was a bit slow to start but once the details are there I really enjoyed fitting them together. Great read definitely recommend.

WOW! WOW! and get another WOW! I finished Where The Missing Go about 2 hours ago and I’m still saying……WOW! I was so blown away by this fictional debut by Emma Rowley that I went straight onto Amazon after I had read it to see if she had written another book yet! Which was probably a bit too enthusiastically optimistic as this one isn’t even out yet! If you enjoy psychological thrillers by writers such as Jenny Blackhurst and Clare Mackintosh then you are going to love this book. And if you’re a regular reader of my reviews then you’ll know that I have a particular passion for a certain type of twisty thriller and this one is 100% what I look for in my psychological thrillers. If you like similar books to me then I guarantee you will love this one too.

I actually started this in the very early hours one morning when I couldn’t sleep and very quickly became gripped by the storyline of a mother in pieces following the disappearance of her teenage daughter, Sophie. And by the time I had to get up, I was so addicted that I couldn’t wait to get back to bed that night to finish this fascinating storyline. I had immediately felt Kate’s devastation at the loss of her only child, refusing to give up hope, her entire life revolving around looking for clues to Sophies whereabouts. Everyone says she should move on with her life, others close to Sophie have, and accept that Sophie has gone away and doesn’t want to be found. But Kate isn’t giving up and when she takes a call at the missing person hotline she volunteers at, her worst fears seem to be realised.

Everything about this book worked for me! I loved the Cheshire setting which felt authentic with its slower pace of life compared to its big neighbour of Manchester and to London which the family had been living previously. And Cheshire born Kate was an immensely relatable character, one struggling with her own personal demons, but her maternal instincts that something wasn’t quite right about her daughters disappearance overtook those worries to show the raw emotion of a mother’s love for her child. I thought she was just so wonderfully brave, determined never to give up hope of finding Sophie even though it meant pulling away from every other relationship in her life. But most of all I loved all the red herrings floating around the periphery, never quite in the line of sight but throwing suspicious glances throughout the narrative. This book is twistier than my curls after I’ve been caught in a rainstorm and every twist was a jaw dropping, flick the pages back, “what the **** just happened there?” moment for me! Just how I like them!

Emma Rowley is a name everyone should remember as I think she is going to be HUGE! I pre-ordered my own copy of Where The Missing Go as soon as I finished it and on the strength of this debut, I would also preorder her next book without even reading the blurb-that’s how much I want to read more from this very talented writer. This is a very clever, breathtakingly brilliant read that you won’t be able to put down. Highly recommended by me!

Wow - what a powerful gripping story. This book captured me from the first page and I found it hard to put down. A truly powerful display of a mothers unfaltering determination to find her missing child. Told in three parts, the first part solely from Kate's perspective I could feel the despair and the helplessness felt by Kate especially when she began to question whether others around her were correct and she was going a bit mad. Her character was so well developed and I was rooting for her throughout the book. Definitely unputdownable!

When 15 year old Sophie runs away from home, her mother Kate is devastated. A seemingly happy girl in a perfect life, what more should she have done to stop her from wanting to run away? 2 years later, grief is still eating away at Kate as her marriage and life falls apart around her, then a surprise phone call from Sophie brings up more questions and starts Kate on mission to find her daughter and bring her home.

Where the Missing Go is an incredible thrill-ride of a read. It’s perfectly paced, giving you just enough information as it thinks you need to know and stringing you along to keep reading. The first half of the book is entirely in Kate’s perspective before switching and alternating at just the right point in the plot to give you exposition and drop more hints as to what is going on. The ending is brilliant and the twist actually surprised me which is becoming less and less common in books for me at the moment.

Although I’ve read lots of thrillers about abductions recently, this book takes the angle of a girl who seemingly wants to run-away and how that affects the mother-daughter relationship. Kate is very sympathetically written and having half the book completely in her perspective gives you a complex and heart-breaking insight into a mothers love for her daughter and her loyalty to never give up searching. Her friends, family and other characters around her do seem quite vague at times because as the narrator she is more concerned with finding Sophie, but they never feel too over-exaggerated or unrealistic.

Overall, Where the Missing Go is a book I devoured; I picked it up and finished it in just 2 sittings as I got completely drawn in to the story and wanted to find out what happened next. It is also a book that I didn’t have to write any notes about things that annoyed me while I read as a reminder for my review – I just read and enjoyed it for what it was. I am sure Where the Missing Go will become a must-read for 2018 and thank you to NetGalley and Orion Publishing Group for letting me read the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a good steady paced thriller. I enjoyed the plot which was dark and creepy at times.
The first few chapters start very well, we meet Kate, who has a teenage daughter Sophie. Sophie has been missing for two years and Kate has never given up hope of her return.
Kate works at a run ways hotline and is convinced one evening that Sophie has tried to contact her and Kate begs just for once person to listen to her and trust her that her daughter didn't just runaway without a reason.
Sophie left a note saying she was leaving but her mum Kate won't let go, is her mum right? Is there more here than just another runaway?
I felt like the start of the book was strong, it opened well by the introduction to the characters and what Sophie disappearance has done to Kate and her family, after this it went a little stale for me, It lingers a little on Kate and her feelings and felt a little repetitive , then suddenly around 34% it jumps right back to life, from then on I was hooked again and was up all night till I finished it.
Im so glad i struck with this book as it turned into a blinding thriller with a creepy edge.
