An absolute gas! I could really relate to his as I have lots of Irish friends. A really funny but heartfelt and moving novel, hugely enjoyed it.

This is one of those books that you find yourself finishing in one or two sittings. Whilst I often cry at books ( and I did at this one), I can't remember the last time that a book made me laugh out loud like this one did. I thought that the balance between the two extremes was handled very well, and Aisling was a well rounded and loveable character. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone.

It took me a while to warm to this book. The first half seemed slow, although the character descriptions were very real. I struggled with some of the Irish name pronunciation but enjoyed the Irishness of it. The second half I thoroughly enjoyed as I got to know her character better and thought it was very funny in parts, and also very sad. The main character, Aisling, has ideas about how her future should be and tries to negotiate her way through the changes when things don't work out the way she wants. She is portrayed as a typical Irish country girl and her outlook on the goings on in her life, in the country and the city where she works, are very amusing, with some poignant and sad events which are though provoking. Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ebook for review.

Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin UK for the e-ARC.
I decided I wanted to read this book because it's supposed to be a funny novel. I guess I just don't understand Irish humour because I didn't find it funny at all.

The synopsis (and hype!) about this book made it sound like it was going to be a fantastic read but I found it the total opposite - it was like a book about 1001 ways to get pissed!

In her late twenties Aisling has choices to make about life, love and living. Her feelings and emotions are well portrayed and the story is moreish.

Thank goodness for YouTube with the search results on how to pronounce the Irish/Gaelic names!
The story generally flows between rural Ireland and Dublin. The characters all seemed realistic and they sat well within the book.
For a great, easy read I'd recommend this book.

This is an in your face comedy that I found a little unnnerving rather than hilarious. If I was Irish I think I would have enjoyed more of the references. However, it was an enjoyable, a light-hearted tale, that I'm sure many people will like.
Thanks to net galley and the publishers for an ARC in return for an honest review.

The story of a twenty something Irish girl who wants nothing more than to settle down with her long time boyfriend and get married. Or so she thinks. A lovely read. Story full of laughter and tears. What will Aisling do next. Am hoping for the next chapter.

Funny in places but very Irish. Enjoyed parts of the Irish comedy and Aisling and her friends. Thanks to Netgalley for an advance copy but not really my type of book.

I absolutely loved this book! If you like Marian Keyes' novels, then you'll like this book. It made me smile, laugh out loud, but in contrast also has it deeper emotional moments. It's a good balance. A journey though the chaotic life of a young woman, who learns something new nearly every day! An easy to read novel that you will consume in a couple of sittings. Brilliant!

Hilarious and heart warming, this story follows out heroine (Aisling, obviously) through a period in her life where her friends are getting married and starting to have babies and she feels that her life is simple not enough. She's a small town girl who moves to the city and starts her very own adventure......I don't think I am giving anything away when I say she finds that the grass isn't always greener..... this would be a fab holiday read,

Once I tuned into the Irish lingo I really enjoyed reading this book. Aisling is a lovely warm character who unexpectedly makes a move from life centred around her family and long term boyfriend. Her life in the city is fun but family will always draw her back. Great read for the summer holidays. Fans of Marion Keyes will love this but it is no copycat !

This was perfect holiday reading, laugh out loud funny but also very sad in places.I loved the voice of Aisling-I'm not Irish but could almost hear her speaking, and her turn of phrase is hilarious.
I hope we hear more of her!

From the very first scene in this book, you'll know that you're in safe hands. We all know an Aisling, and yet Emer and Sarah's heroine feels at once completely relateable and a brand new voice. Warm, charming and unintentionally hilarious, Aisling's observances as she navigates love, loss and new beginnings are a delight. She's a heroine I can see myself returning to again and again.

I am so glad I decided to read books outside my usual genre of crime fiction this year, this book was like a breath of fresh air. Coming from an Irish family myself, Aisling and her family felt so familiar to me
Aisling thinks her life is all mapped out, her and John will marry and they will raise their family on the land gifted by her Daddy. John however doesn't share this view, so Aisling sets about living life on her own. Along the way she makes new friends and discovers that her Mammy is not just Mammy and has her own struggles.
I really loved this book, it made me laugh and cry at the same time.
