A couple of attempts at reading this one and I have to conclude it just is not for me. I wanted to like it but I just could not get drawn in and was always so distracted. A DNF for me.

An intelligent and heartbreaking novel. The characters drove me mad but I really felt for Ester at the same time. This is my first encounter with this author and I am keen to discover and recommend more of her fiction now.
