I absolutely loved the first two books of this series and couldn't wait to read this one. However, life got in the way and I've been slowly catching up on my TBR pile. Ms. Beck is such a wonderful writer that knows how to mess with a reader's emotions but has a way of leaving this reader feeling such joy at the end of each of her books, most especially this one.

Gentry Cabot is the wild child of her family. The one that does what she wants. However, this time things will never be the same for her. She's now a mother. Something she doesn't know how to be, considering her own isn't the best role model. Still, she's determined to make the new situation she's found herself in work. However, first she needs to find someone that can help her. Someone responsible. Someone that's good with babies. Ian Crawford seems the perfect person to help her.

This story progressed wonderfully because of its nice pace and how it started. Gentry is a woman full of strength and definitely brave. She hasn't had the easiest life and no wonder why with a family like hers. Still, I liked how she was determined to prove herself to those in her life by everything she does. Will she gain her family's approval? Only time will tell. While Ian, he's a good man, even though I felt he was a little judgmental. The high and mighty attitude he had threw me at times. Yet, the more I read, the more I could understand the attitude, especially with everything he'd been through in his life.

Overall, Ms. Beck has delivered a heartfelt, engaging read in this third book of her The Cabots series, which had me smiling at the end, as Gentry is so good for Ian. He definitely needs her in his life. Moreover, I recommend the first two books of the series to make it easy to understand the Cabot family dynamics.

This book will grab ahead of anyone, but especially a mother. The things that you sacrifice for your kid is limitless when you want what is best for them, and this book gives a little light to that. It shows that just become the situation didn't begin the way you wanted it to, doesn't mean that it has to have a bad ending. Love this book!

Jamie Beck has a great way to talk about family interactions and their dynamic, introducing to me The Cabot’s, when business and family is legacy.

Gentry got pregnant with no father around, putting more space with her family. Finding her place in this family always been difficult, her relationship with her mother strained throughout the years. She felt like an outsider, not knowing how fit and being the perfect daughter she had to be but not being accepted by them. And she tried without never being enough.

In her complicated situation came Ian, philanthropist, wanderlust helping people in need on the other side of the planet, feeling more accomplished by following his father’s steps. Meeting Gentry and his son changed somehow his perspective, and the feeling of staying in one place never felt so right, but would it be enough?

It hurt to see how she was treated and seen by her family, like she didn’t really belong. The toxic and constant bullying by her mother in spite of her efforts. I adored how she stood on her own, fighting her battles with her son to give her the best environment and the best. The interaction between Gentry and her family was a bit rough and cruel sometimes, putting her down.

I appreciated reading their story, two people from two separate worlds, finding their own way as individuals and as a couple. Watching Gentry’s relationship with her family growing, where each learn to compromise, accepting entirely the other.

This is the third book in the Cabot series by Jamie Beck. I would recommend this series.

When You Knew is the 3rd book in The Cabots series. It can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading the prior two books before reading this one. Gentry Cabot is nothing like the spoiled party-girl in the previous books. This was an emotional story of family dynamics, drama, and growth. This is my favorite book in this series so far.

Thank you to Netgalley for a digital copy of this book for review. This is the third book in the Cabot family series and it is my favourite one. This is Gentry’s story. She is the younger half sister of Hunter and Colby Cabot and is considered the spoilt wild child. Gentry is a single unwed mother struggling with a colicky newborn. She also has to get back to work and is in desperate need of child care. Ian (a friend of her sister in law) steps in to be the temporary nanny. I felt that Gentry’s character was more true to life than the characters in the first two books. Gentry is a little more free in how she lives and not as constrained by societal rules much to the annoyance of some of her family members. I had been eager to read Gentry’s story and as I said I enjoyed this book the best of the series although they were all easy and entertaining reads.

Another wonderful addition to the Cabot series. Wonderfully written. Full review being posted on blog next month as one of my fall must reads!

This is the third book in the series and a great addition. The hero and heroine had great chemistry. I highly recommend this series.

This book could easily have rated 5 stars but Ian’s character drove me so crazy , I just couldn’t do it. The book is very well written. The angst is palpable and strong - which is a good thing if you love rich, emotional stories. Most of that angst is caused by Ian’s idiotic stubbornness, however.

Gentry’s character is what really makes this story shine. She is the perfect example of growing beyond stereotypes. Her situation is written realistically and her growth and determination to do better against all odds and expectations is truly touching. The author does a superb job of allowing the reader to see her vulnerabilities while understanding their causes, then watching her pull herself up, work through, then conquer them to become one of the best heroines I’ve read in recent history. Bravo Ms. Brown!

Heartfelt, adorable and sexy to boot! We are quickly drawn in to the story of a mom who's crying baby is grating on her nerves, then help arrives in the form of a sexy man who has the magic baby whisperer touch! The characters are both flawed in their thinking about themselves, but help each other to see another side that they didn't realize existed. I loved them together ... and the added mix of another man coming back into the picture really gave them a run for their money! Good story!!

Wild child Gentry Cabot has spent a lifetime living down to people's expectations for her. And when the baby's father re-enters the picture, what kind of wrench will that throw into the scenario?

I loved this book! Jamie Beck is an amazing author. I love her series and how she uses each book to tell a different characters story. You never know where you will find love!

This is the story I have been waiting for.
I loved Gentry in all the other books even though she struggles with her family relationships she really shines through in this book. I love her spirit and how she is determined to be a mom and everything that goes with it. She deserves so much more in life than what she feels she has. In one desperate attempt she hires a nanny to help her and this one move changes her life in more ways than one.

This is my favorite book in this series.

Very well written. The storyline is unique. I really love the characters and secondary characters and the relationships they have.

This next chapter of the Cabot family is so heartwarming. Gentry is the family rebel and it takes time and patience for her to realize that she is loved and capable. With the support of safe and organized Ian she become a loving mother, helpful employee to the family and finally finds love in her work and personal life Lots of twists but everyone happily realizes who, and what will make them truly happy

This read was really quick and sweet. It was my first introductuction to Ms. Beck, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Her writing of the characters is so real, from their faults to their challenges, and the flow of the story was just so relatable. While each book in the series is technically standalone, reading the series in order will help mitigate any confusion over the roles/tension between the other characters.

Gentry is a bit of the black sheep in her family and is used to living life on a whim. When she finds out she’s pregnant from a one-night-stand, she’s forced to change from a party girl to a mother. She thinks that by going back to her family business she can give her son a strong family unit, despite the tense relationships she has with them.

Enter Ian, a do-gooder if there ever was one. He’s back in the States while he raises enough money to fly back to Haiti to continue his humanitarian work. When Gentry offers him the position of a live-in manny, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot. What he doesn’t realize is he’s about to discover something he didn’t know he was missing out on: a family.

While I didn’t think there was that much crazy chemistry between Gentry and Ian, I learned a lot about the beauty of a relationship founded on more than just the physical. There’s definitely romance between them, but it’s pretty slow in coming and there’s all this angst because of the commitments both Gentry and Ian have made. Overall, this was a fun read and I would defitely read more from Ms. Cabot!

The genre of When We Knew by author Jamie Beck is woman’s fiction/contemporary romance. It’s the story of Gentry Cabot who comes from a prominent family that doesn’t always live up to her families expectations. She lives a little on the wild side. That is until one night when after hooking up with a complete stranger, she ends up pregnant. The birth of her son seems to turn her life completely around. She now is concerned more about her sons welfare than her own. This is a story about following your heart, finding love, and treasuring what it is to be a family. Jamie Beck knows how to write a great series. I recommend all her books.
Gentry is the party girl of the family and becomes pregnant. Throughout this book you will watch her grow in maturity and motherhood. A split family coming together and showing love. It’s a emotionally funny book. Ian never knew he wanted a family until he got a taste of it.
This book will make you laugh and cry. Gentry is outspoken and fun, Ian is the serious type until Gentry opens him up. They make a great team. As the end of the series I love how she involved the whole family and how much they have grown through the series. A must read.
