Alice is enjoying her job at the Castle Cafe in Castle Cove, some of her customers might be wankers, but she loves her boss and the undemanding nature of the work. When she first meets Jay, a lifelong resident of the Cove, it’s hardly love at first sight as the two get into a spat about Jay sees as Alice’s indifference to safety in the local swimming area. Jay had pulled drowning people out of the ocean longer than he can remember, and he doesn’t intend to let Alice risk her life by being foolish.
