Murder Girl, book 2 in the series picks up right where Murder Notes left off. Dang, this series just consumes me! I could not put this book down because I kept needing to know what was going to happen next. (It's NEVER what you think!)

Lilah Love is still trying to investigate the murders that have been happening in the Hamptons. Throughout the story she has doubts of just about everybody she comes in contact with....her boss, her dad, her brother, her old friends, her FBI counterparts and even at one point her ex Kane because he will not tell her things she needs to know that she knows he knows. When certain things happen and Kane finally comes 100% clean with Lilah, she realizes she can trust him. As the two of them slowly start to connect the dots, they both realize that there is a much bigger picture of things going on than they ever thought. Just when you think everything is going to be solved....BOOM....Lisa Renee Jones throws another curve ball and the story line goes into a new direction.

I just love this series and especially Lilah. Her language is so filthy, yet so funny. I can't wait to see where Lilah's path is taking her next and am secretly hoping it will involve Kane because they truly belong together.

Wow! Just wow! Lilah Love is deliciously twisted, like a pretzel.

Things are becoming more and more complicated. Nothing is as it seems and no one can be trusted.

I really need more Lilah Love!!

This sequel to Murder Notes was so much better than the original. Good characters developed an interesting story and kept you engrossed to the end. The author left enough openings in the story to leave you hoping the next book comes quickly! You could almost skip the first book and go straight to this one. I will most definitely be watching how Ms Jones develops Lilah and Kane.

Second book in this series and I can't say enough how thrilled I am that we'll be in for more of Lilah Love! Her tough attitude and fierce independence make her one bad a$$ FBI Profiler and a character that I can't help but love and admire. This story is a perfect blend of suspense, action, and romance and Kane's patience and understanding of Lilah and her habits is heartwarming. As dark as his life and experiences may be, he goes out of his way to create a safe place for her, even when she feels like there is no else she can fully trust. Loving this series so far and can't wait to see where we end up next!

Loved reading the exciting and engaging second book in the Liliah Love series. Lilah Love and her ex, Kane Mendez, work together to try to solve the murders surrounding Lilah's life before she is next on the list. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and full of mystery, intrigue, action, and romance.
I reviewed a copy of the book through NetGalley.

What a crazy twisted book that I absolutely enjoyed. Lilah & Kane I absolutely love together. Lilah can’t trust anyone and is still the target, but there is one person who always has her back and that’s Kane. Lilah is determined to bring the killer down but learns something that puts her in more danger then what she already is. How the ending goes it seems we will get more Lilah & hopefully Kane too.

Lilac Love has her hands full and ‘tied’. As an FBI agent her love interest is a Mafia kingpin, although he said his uncle is. He is the heir apparent, but not designate because of Lilah. Is he clean though? Her dad who is running for Governor and her brother, the police chief, may be involved with a murderous group. Who can she trust? Not her colleagues or her boss. The intrigue continues and bodies are piling up. The killer is waiting to top the body count with that of Lilah herself. Can Kane keep her safe? Can she keep herself and Kane safe?

At the end of the book, she removed a perceived threat only for another one to crop up. So, I guess we are waiting for another book. I effing hate cliffhangers, but this latest instalment is no slouch either.. The relationship between Kane and Lilah is formless right now also. Four stars for this..

Murder Girl was a little harder to get into than the first book. The Story seemed to jump around unable to find a focus on one part of the story. The main mystery was very similar to the one in the first book because of the lack of focus by the author this reader started to flip pages homing for the letters that Lilah had been receiving would find a conclusion. Instead the longer bigger mystery is a cliff hanger while the main mystery comes to an end with a nice little bow.

Murder Girl lacks focus, the story seems to drag and the author lost her drive for this story.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Montlake for the advance copy of Lisa Renee Jones Murder Girl.

4.5 gloriously snarky stars. Family secrets, lies, twists and turns. This is the perfect companion to the first in the series. They are fast paced, well written and you can't help but love Lilah and all her flaws and she isn't letting anyone scare her. She wants the truth and she will not stop until she gets it even if that means turning on her own family.

Murder Girl takes off where Murder Notes ended.

As Lilah starts working the case and more bodies turn up, one thing is clear: the common denominator is her. Now with a killer taunting her and everyone a suspect she must keep her wits about her.

Kane wants to keep her safe but like everyone else should he become a suspect or is he the only one she can trust completely.

As things start to add up and the players are revealed, Lilah soon learns that this is bigger than she had even considered and maybe her own secret will pale in comparison.

Wow, LRJ sure knows how to weave a web of lies, decit, mystery and intrigue to keep you glued to the pages hoping to unravel the world and mind of Lilah Love.

Awesome intricate plot, fast-paced action, and suspense…

This is the second book in the Lilah Love series, a continuation of, and resolution to, the intriguing suspenseful events that unfolded in the first book.

The case in the Hamptons becomes more complicated with each passing day and FBI Agent Lilah Love, a woman with a serious dark side she has yet to fully accept, has to unravel enigmas which strain her comfort level as they hit too close to home, in more ways than one.

Lilah has much to contend with on a case of connected murders across the country that have lead back to her hometown. Her father’s political ambitions have driven him down a possibly dangerous and corrupt path causing Lilah to postulate compromising questions as she rethinks her own past.

Local law enforcement wants their murder case closed having set their sights on the wrong perpetrator, not having bought the profile of an assassin ticking victims off of a hit list. A stalker continues to leave taunting notes implying knowledge of the secret Lilah shares with the son of a man who ran a drug cartel, said man being her ex-lover from two years ago.

With the presence of her other ex-lover, another FBI agent, a good man she’s unable to love, there’s animosity between the two men. Among all this Lilah needs to confirm her assassin theory so the FBI can take jurisdiction and find the true killer as the deaths mount up. The only person Lilah trusts is the man who walks between two worlds, the man who gets her, who understands the darker side of her psyche and that she loves but the badge is always between them.

This book had an awesome intricate plot, it was fast-paced action and suspense; there were insidious enigmas with confounding twists/turns to keep the reader engaged. The heroine was a complex, feisty, fascinating individual. This story has a blend of everything that meshed beautifully: murders, betrayals, conspiracies, dirty law enforcement, assassins, patriarchs of drug cartels, and a powerful elitist society manipulating the strings. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. This is the end of the duet but not the end of the series, some things were left for future resolution.

An advanced reading copy was obtained from the publisher via NetGalley.

Review After the major cliffhanger in book one, Murder Notes, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this second book! And right when I think I have some answers, I’m left with another major cliffhanger and now I’m wondering what’s really going on?! This book kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next?! I’m not saying much because we still have the 3rd book coming and I don’t wanna give nothing away! I can’t wait to see what comes to light in book 3! Lisa’s done such a great job at this murder mystery! Right when I think I’ve figured something out I’m clueless again! And what’s gonna happen with Lilah and Kane?! They have such a weird relationship. I’m curious to see if they’ll end up totally together or always at a distance? I hope they finally solve this case and out of danger so they can finally be together!! I definitely recommend this series! It’s dark, mysterious and sexy! I’m so ready for the conclusion!!

Let me just start off saying that I have devoured everything that Lisa Renee Jones has ever wrote. But this book has pushed the boundaries on her writing right into murder mystery writer. It was amazing.

If you like suspense, suspense and more suspense thrown in for god measure you'll love this book. It has hot alpha men... especially one very hot Latin ex-lover.
It is mystery personified. Every time I think I know who the killer is .. nope not him!!!

Ms. Jones's writing in this book reminds me of James Patterson. Always second guessing yourself on whodunit.
If you like murder mysteries, hot alpha men and a kick ass FBI agent with a strippers name (lol) you'll really enjoy this book.

Murder Girl is a fantastic sequel to the first book. We're graced with the presence of Lilah Love who is a wonderfully flawed character. Lilah's character is what makes the series for me. She's not afraid to be flawed and I love her for that. Her struggles are what a lot of women have to deal with professionally and personally. I also loved Kane in this book as well. There may be a danger to him but his love for Lilah and the need to protect her is weirdly endearing. Lisa Renee Jones knows how to write. Her characters are always flawed and interesting. Her writing also keeps you on your toes!

This book is amazing! In my opinion, it is definitely more suspense/crime thriller than romance (there is a smidge of romance), but that is okay with me as long as it works. And this really works! This author’s imagination just astounds me; the way it bobs and weaves through such a detailed storyline is fascinating and I am in awe that she is able to help us as readers to be able to follow along so easily. This is Book 2 in a series so you definitely want to go back and Read Murder Notes first if you haven’t already since this book picks up where it left off. Which reminds me, thank you so much Lisa for recapping book 1 at the beginning in order to help refresh my avid reader memory.
Lilah Love is such a great heroine and character. As an FBI profiler, she finds herself right in the thick of her investigation continuing on from Book 1. Her relationship with Kane is very complicated but I feel almost a necessary part of her in a way. They have some very telling conversations that help understand their dynamic. There are so many interesting characters in this book who will definitely put many doubts in your mind as to who is on the right side of the law and who isn’t. I was happy to have some burning questions answered but feel like we have just skimmed the surface and there is so much more to learn. I am really looking forward to the next book and the continuation of Lilah’s very interesting and fascinating life.

Murder Girl is the second book in the Lilah Love series, an FBI profiler with a high success rate of solving murders. This book continues on from the first with many of the same characters coming into play, but more so this time and this book is all the better for it.
This latest case has Lilah looking into a string of assassinations each tied to a mysterious tattoo found on the bodies. It seems this killer also has Lilah in his sights leaving messages for her to find in various places.
There are many twists and turns and revelations in this book, we learn more of the cast of characters particularly Kane Mendes Lilahs sometime lover and confident, is he a cartel boss or not?
A brilliant fast paced knuckle ride of a thriller.....bring on the next!
My thanks to net galley and publisher for opportunity to review this book honestly.

This is part 2 of the series and you could honestly read this one without reading the first one, even though it says not to. The book starts off with a who's who guide. I wish that was in the first book , because that would've helped out soooo much. It leaves off right where book 1 ends. The first half of the book basically recaps everything from book 1 and it doesn't get into the next story line until midway thru the story. Lilah Love, FBI profiler is back in her hometown of the Hamptons working a case that she believes ties to her past. Two years ago, she was attacked and her old boyfriend Kane Mendez is the only one who know about it. Well so she always thought. Starting from the first book, someone is leaving her notes making her believe they weren't alone on the night of her attack. Her cases are somehow tied to it and as she dives in deeper she finds out there are way too many secrets in her town and her family is tied to it as well. Lilah is starting to realize that she can't trust anybody, but Kane, and people believe him as a criminal. His father was head of a cartel and most believe since his death, Kane has taken over as head of the cartel.
A lot of questions were answered from the first book but the story ends, in my opinion, as a cliffhanger! There's more questions that need to be answered. How many more books are going to be in this series? Because the way the story is headed there is so much drama and I need answers!

WOW WOW WOW.....

This is my first book by Lisa Renee Jones, I loved the opening the way each character was laid out with a brief description which made it easier to know who was who right from the off and then a synopsis given of the first book in the Lilah Love series (although I will go back and read all of the first book!), really appreciated this element.

I won't go into detail for fear of giving away some of the plot but suffice to say I thoroughly enjoyed this, I loved the Love & Kane relationship, I am now totally hooked on this series, its a fast paced suspenseful action packed read and you just don't want to put it down its REALLY THAT INTENSE, held my breath for most of it! Fantastic and a definite must read.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Montlake Romance for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

So much was going on in this one and you really don't know who you can trust and neither does Lilah. The more that she investigates the more she realizes that everyone, especially her family, is in deep. By the end of the book it's interesting that Kane, who she knows is a criminal, is the one person that Lilah can trust and Lilah's boss has become a big player in the game. It will be interesting to see where things go from here.

Murder Girl is Lisa Renee Jones at her finest again. She makes being bad so damn appealing and unresistable. We pick up right where Murder Notes (Book 1, Lilah Love) left off. Lilah continues to get push back from the locals, but she knows that they are trying to tidy things up rather than find the truth. Her investigation and her desire to unravel the motives of all those around her, including her family, will lead her to the past. By her side is her (sort of) ex Kane, the protector she doesn't feel she needs. The idea of Kane is enough to keep some at bay and allow Lilah to work in her own combative, assertive and snarky way. He's also the only one that Lilah trusts because she knows and understands his motives, just like he understands her and knows all her secrets. Lilah's work is leading her to answers, but those raise more questions and seem to point to something bigger at play. She's going to have to keep her head on a swivel and her hand on her knife... I mean gun.

Be prepared to go on another wild ride. Having finished the book minutes ago, I'm already dying to get my hands on the next in the series.
