If you're a beginner crafter and interested in leather, this is a great basic book. It goes over things like the tools you might need and a bunch of simple projects. It was easy to follow and had some cute project I was interested in. I'm a big fan of pictures helping you along the way as well as showing the project you're making and this had great pictures that made it easy to follow. If you're a more advanced crafter or leather worker than this book isn't for you but otherwise this is a great starter book.

The book is an extraordinary collection of pattern in to create wallets, baggage's tags and more useful items made with leather that usually are costly.
The pictures and instructions are great, but I would only make a hand full of items from this book. This books focused more on high-end, feminine designs. Those who've been curious about working with leather but are more focused on sexy handbags than saddles will appreciate this book.
Great projects in nice order from easiest to hardest. I love the style of the projects and the pictures and directions were very clear and accessible to someone like me who has never done heavy duty leather projects. A great addition to any crafters collection and projects!
This one has a ton of great projects that are presented in a very easy to follow way. It is good for all experience levels but you will need some special tools but you can hand sew or use a regular machine
As a fellow "recycled/upcycled" leather junkie and artisan, I already have some leather knowledge, but I learned some new tricks and techniques in this book that I look forward to implementing, and I LOVE the projects - all of which are pretty easily customizable to add your own bit of flair. Also, a lot of practical and informative advice for those getting started (or, for people like me, who kind of just jumped in without a net, some stuff I'd missed that is really helpful to know). There are a lot of intro-to-leather books out there, but I love that this one is focused more on "luxe', feminine designs. Those who've been curious about working with leather but are more focused on sexy handbags than saddles will appreciate this book.
Usually with craft books (knitting, crochet, sewing) I can find four or five projects I want to make, at most. But I want to make EVERYTHING in this book. I know they'd make great gifts for my friends and family too (except the vegans – though as far as I can tell, the projects could easily be made with vegan leather too).
I can't say how useful the instructions are, as I haven't attempted any of the projects yet, but they seem very clear and every step is photographed. I think this is the first time I've found a craft book where I want to make every single thing. The designs are very simple and look easy to customise, so could be made with any colour combinations, added embossing etc. It'll take me a while to work up to the bigger projects (bags, wallets), so I plan to start with bookmarks as they look fairly straightforward – and obviously, will be very useful for me...
Working in leather is nice and this book covers all the basics. It’s just not my thing. The projects are boring but I know that has to do with the beginning nature of said projects.
Fun, modern leatherwork projects. This book includes several tutorials, from a very basic keychain that’s simple enough for a child, to an advanced lined tote made of an upcycled leather coat. The pictures contained enough detail to follow along with the description. I’d say that the advanced projects would require more than my basic level of sewing know-how, and many of the projects require more equipment and supplies than an ordinary crafter has on hand, but if you’re interested in leather crafting, this book will set you up for success from beginner to advanced.
This a beautifully illustrated book with good projects and clear step by step instructions. I love all things leather, and was interested in making something of my own. However I did find the list of tools required (even the basics) just a bit too daunting. I think the book will appeal to those who are already crafting or dressmaking and want to try something a bit different. I enjoyed the book but probably wouldn't have a go myself. Thank Ypu
