"Wild Hunger" from The Phoenix Pack Series by Suzanne Wright is seriously a page-turner, and I'm not even kidding! If you're into paranormal romance and urban fantasy, this one's a must-read. It's got all the supernatural creatures, steamy romance, and action-packed moments you could wish for. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts, and the witty banter? On point! Suzanne Wright nails that perfect balance between romance and a kick-butt storyline. So, if you're up for a wild ride with shifters, vampires, and a whole lot of sizzling tension, this book's got your back. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Love all the crazy and sweet characters from this series. Fun and entertaining read. Would definitely recommend.

This one was actually pretty good. The past few books have been very similar, but finally this one had different elements that made it very refreshing. I loved that Trick had no hang ups and was really open and happy to a mating, and the family dynamic that Frankie had with her grandparents. And the mysterious murder suicide was another really interesting aspect.

Overall I enjoyed this one! It brought some freshness to the past few books that the author has put out. The formula has been getting a little stale (at least for me).

Trick and Frankie's story was really good. I knew almost immediately who was involved in hurting Frankie's past, but it was good to read through the story and find out how it all happened.

I like that Frankie had to learn about herself and her wolf half after reconnecting with the Phoenix Pack.

This one worked for me.

What kind I say about Wild Hunger the 7th book in the Phoenix Pack series, Except I absolutely loved this book. Ever since I found this author totally by accident, I couldn’t get my hands on her book and read them quick enough.

Wild Hunger was fast-paced, with chemistry that lit the pages on fire. The plot was entertaining and fun.

Wild Hunger a great paranormal romance that will share to please any reader of this genre. High marks.

Suzanne has done it again. Wonderful story, awesome action scenes, sensual and hot sex scenes and we get to follow up with all of our favorite Phoenix and Mercury pack teams.

Frankie is an accomplished artist..sure her art is dark, but it sells and it tells a story "sort of"..she enjoys her life with the humans and tolerates her grandparents attitudes towards her..when she realizes that there is a large part of her life that is missing..will she have the courage to face her past and more importantly, will she have the courage to accept her deep feelings for the sexy man she barely remembers.

Trick has always been broody and he loves that his pack mates have found their mates..he cant wait to find his mate and feels prepared to accept not only her, but the electric pull that will pull them together. When he is reunited with a friend from his old pack..he is utterly and completely addicted to her..he is committed to helping her embrace her new family and how to make peace with the tragedy of her parents death.

I love the relationship between Trick and Frankie. There was no drama or misunderstandings..Trick knew who she was and had no doubt about it..once Frankie determined they were mates..she accepted it and dealt with it. Tackling Tricks past was so smooth and seeing how that connected to Frankie's (indirectly) is genius. Add to that our new nemesis, her family issues and her parents murder/ suicide, weaved a tale that had me on edge through the whole book. Normally I'd skip ahead to see if I was right about "whodunit", but I wanted to anticipation to build and feel the angst of watching the story come together. How these stories come to light in Suzanne's mind is mindboggling.

Loved this story, recommend it..guarantee that you'll love it too.

I loved the way Trick handled and took care of Frankie. His dark side was sweet and tempting when around her. I loved this book and can't wait to read more by Mrs. Wright.

Another great Phoenix Pack book! I really liked Frankie, she is an artist who makes amazing sculptures and has been separated from other shifters most of her life due to tragic circumstances. Her romance with Trick is actually pretty mellow compared to others, but the circumstances surrounding them is pretty crazy. The have not just one but two dangers to face.

As usual the story is sexy, exciting, and funny. Super entertaining! I can't wait for the next one.

This is the seventh book in the Phoenix pack series. My love for this series grows with each new book and new addition to the pack. This is Trick and Frankie's story. Their mating was very low angst compared to the other couples in pack because Trick has always been ready for his mate and Frankie is half shifter. They do have to deal with Frankie's human family who have been lying to her for her whole life. This book had all the great elements of a Suzanne Wright story plus added mystery surrounding Frankie's past.
Love this series and loved this book. Can't wait until we get Dom's story.

I love these wolves so much, its so sad there is only one left single. But I think that Suzanne Wright has done so well with this entire series that I can read these books over and over and fall in love with all the characters every time.

Trick was really sweet, kind and sexy, and I am so happy he got his HEA. I will admit that this story was a bit more intense than some of the previous ones, but overall still a really good time with some awesome guys.

Can't wait for Dominic's story

I really loved this book. It was a great addition to the series. Trick and Frankie are both awesome and interesting characters. I really couldn't figure out who the bad guy was until the end.

I absolutely loved this book. Like every single freaking one by this author. I swear she is the queen of paranormal romance, they are just so good.
I read this book all at once because I couldn't wait for it to come out, and since then I have already read it twice.
I loved the characters and they were the perfect match for each other, and I absolutely loved the storyline.
I don't really know what else to say because for me, Suzanne Wright is an automatic buy, I sometimes buy her books before even reading the plot. She is just that awesome. So I really really recommend this book.

"I know you're feeling like you're being pulled in different directions, but I'm the one person you don't have to try to please, because you please my by just existing. You're my priority."
I love this series. Suzanne Wright writes each main character in such a way that they have a distinctiveness from each other. None of the characters throughout this series are ever too similar. Each have their own personalities and struggles, that there is no way the stories feel like they're on repeat. No repetition here. Each story leaves the reader to want more but at the same time, has us being able to see the story line without any confusion of past characters.

In Wild Hunger, we finally get Trick's story. And what was very different from his character in this series is that he knew from the very beginning that Frankie (the female lead, obviously) was his mate. But I have to give it to the guy...or wolf... he was slick. He was smooth. He was sweet. He was protective. He was hot! See, Trick had been waiting a long time for his mate--almost gave up hope of finding her--so he wasn't about to screw it up by going to fast.
“Something inside him roared to life, and a strange possessiveness began to viciously claw at his gut and tighten his chest. It was as primal and basic as the need that twisted his stomach.”

Frankie was a good match for my boy Trick. She was feisty and kind and talented. She was a dominant wolf but not one that was overly so, where her wolf was more distinguished than herself. I'd say they were in perfect balance with each other. There was a point when reading this book that I just wanted to go back and hold the little Frankie, protect her. She (little Frankie) witnessed something very very terrible and sad. Though she can not remember her life before coming to live with her maternal grandparents, she still struggles to find answers, understandably so. Because she has no recollection of her life before living with her grandparents, she doesn't remember her pack mates and family. But I really love how they are all patient with her, accepting...Well everyone but Greta, but it wouldn't be the same without that old grouch there with her comments. Plus it was awesome catching up with the members of the Phoenix and Mercury pack.
This book was definitely worth the read. It had just the right amount of mystery, fight, love, sexiness, laughs, and character growth.

I’ve just had the longest single author book binge in a really long time. Suzanne Wright is so talented, and I adore her shifter romances. I just need more.

Summary:
Half-shifter Frankie Newman has spent the last twenty-four years living in the human world, without a pack or territory. Her human, maternal grandparents are all she’s ever known since she tragically lost both her parents so young. Or at least that’s what she was told. After receiving an email from an aunt she never knew existed, Frankie is stunned to find out she’s been lied to her entire life. The secrets that are revealed aren’t good ones either. Apparently, as a child, Frankie witnessed her mother’s murder by her father’s own hand, and then his suicide. She was then taken from her pack and paternal family, with the memories burying themselves deeply within her mind. Frankie has felt loneliness most of her life, especially during her first shift, but the loneliness bearing down on her now is almost unbearable. Until she reconnects with an old friend. Trick Hardy has been waiting for his mate for a long time. He has no wish to ignore the mating bond or cause it to be jammed, so when his eyes meet Frankie’s after so many years, he immediately understands that she’s his in every way. Despite his intense need to claim Frankie forever, he knows she isn't ready. Overwhelming her with the information and aggressively pursuing her would only upset the already turbulent emotional whirlwind she’s caught in. He settled in to be patient, while making sure he’s everything she could need to get her through this chaotic time. Frankie may not realize that Trick is her true mate, but she does feel an otherworldly-like pull to be in his presence and have his attention. Unfortunately, she can’t focus on a future when she just learned of her past. Can they keep each other close and safe as memories return and danger threatens not only Frankie’s life, but the wellbeing of the pack, too?

When I pick up a Suzanne Wright book, I know I’ll never be disappointed. She has a gift for shifters, and it’s proven time and time again. I’ve been looking forward to Trick’s book for a bit now. He’s always been there in the background, but I feel he was a bit more visible in the last couple of books. Maybe in preparation for his book. He was always the lighthearted jokester, kind of like Dominic, but not with a death wish. Lol. Finally getting his story, I like him even more than I did before. He is laid back and relaxed, but with a natural intensity that makes you shiver. When his complete attention is on you, you feel it physically. I loved how patient he was with Frankie. A lot of what he did for her was against his shifter nature, but he did it because he cared for her, and that was very sweet. He was an alpha male, but one completely at ease with what his mate needed from him. Frankie was different than the heroines we’ve come to know up to this point. She was a dominant female, but her vulnerability shown out of her like a beacon. She was in emotional turmoil for much of the book and I think that called to me. Despite having her world tipped upside down, she had an inner strength that pulled her through the sometimes crippling emotions running rampant through her. I also appreciated her bravery in facing an unfamiliar pack. My only issue with Frankie was the fact that she stated several times how angry she was with her grandparents, but she never really expressed that anger to them. It just annoyed me that it was mentioned more than once, but nothing came of it. I wanted Frankie to stand up to them. Together, her and Trick were dynamite. I loved their banter, their chemistry, and the devotion Trick showed Frankie and she easily returned. I also adored that Trick recognized her as his mate immediately. There were no hoops, no big traumatic event to trigger it, or anything else, and I loved it. Overall, I really enjoyed Trick and Frankie’s story, as well as catching up with the others in the pack. Running alongside our MC’s plotline, was a threat to the pack as a whole. I felt a little like the threat came out of nowhere, but it does seem to further the escalation of tension between shifters and humans. I’m looking forward to getting Dominic’s book. I’m anxious to see what’s hiding beneath all the cheesy lines. It looks like we’ll head into Mercury Pack territory next, though, and I’m ecstatic to get back in with those wolves. Suzanne, great book. Please keep doing what you do. ♡

I’ll never get tired of these stories. Suzanne Wright could write a million more and I’d read every single one! I couldn’t believe my luck when I realized this sexy gem was actually “read and listen free” in Kindle Unlimited! That’s freaking amazing!!

For whatever reason, I didn't expect Trick's story to be so sweet. I swooned so much. He's such a thoughtful and sweet mate. Gah! Love him! He just jumped to my second favorite alpha of the bunch. No one will ever top Trey. IJS!

Here's the breakdown: Frankie Newman is unaware she has long lost family until a phone call from her aunt leads her to question the connection. The revelation of family she never knew existed sets off a series of events that changes her life drastically. In the best ways.
What I loved:
Errmmm....Trick. See above. LOL Seriously he was unbelievably amazing. The insta factor is always a favorite of mine, as well. Trick is protective, thoughtful, caring, and so much more grounded than I anticipated. I love those types of sweet surprises.
The plot is well planned, though it teensy bit convoluted at the end.
It is obviously HOT AF, cause that's the author's MO. She excels at delivering a fantastic PNR romance that will set kindles ablaze....each and every time!

My only real issue with this story is that fact that is was repetitive in place. Like...noticeably repetitive. I would have preferred a shorter version than hearing the same thing multiple times.
Other than that, this is another superb addition. I'm already looking forward to more!

2.5/5.0

Obviously my opinion is not the norm when it comes to this book. Admittedly, I have not read the previous books in this series. In fact it is the first book I have read from this author - so, maybe things may have been better if I had more of a backstory into the world, characters etc. Although it was obvious I was missing relationships and stories from previous books, I don’t think it affected my opinion of this book to a large degree, however.

The writing was fine, the story flowed smoothly but it was just generic, and often rather boring. There wasn’t anything new or especially interesting in the overall plot. It was just like the million other shifter stories already written and read out there.

Oddly enough the one area that was different was also the area that was the most confusing and just didn’t work well. I just didn’t get the ‘once gay now he’s not... bisexual but now he’s found his mate he’s changed’ stuff off-putting. In fact, much of the conflict and arc is based on whether someone who was gay can suddenly be totally hetero. (In this case, more than one character has decidedly done just that.) Eh..... for me it just made a muddle.

I also didn’t care for the way Trick’s sweet, teasing, loving personality changed when it came to sex. Telling Frankie what she will and won’t do and demanding she do what he wants whether she wants it or not did not sit well. Of course after, the fact she ends up liking it afterward should make it all just fine. Uh... no.

I do think the authors writes well and obviously MANY people love her books so I may try another to see if this is just a one-time fluke... We’ll see.
