Lucy Kincaid is bringing her mother’s ashes home to coastal Virginia and a life that Beth never shared with her daughter. Lucy and her dog Dolly are used to living hand to mouth, but all that changes when Lucy discovers she’s inherited a cottage by the sea. The cottage turns out to be a palatial estate in desperate need of a good overhaul, along with several hundred acres of prime land. There’s also millions of dollars to renovate the property if Lucy decides to stay. Told in both the past and the present, this is a story that I really enjoyed, although I was soured on the hero when her offered her a measly $50,000 to take the estate off her hands
