This is a great work for teen girls to read as they grapple with their place in society. The book is very honest and informative. The author’s voice is relatable and encouraging. Young women need this kind of candid explanation of what’s happening in society today. I would definitely want this in my high school library and will recommend it for those girls looking for more information on how to channel their power and passions.

Specific strategies are provided, the author proffers much consideration for overcoming potential barriers, and important terms are explicitly defined. Offers a glossary and index in the back. Empowering resource. Highly recommended for all young feminists!

I went into this thinking it was slightly different - turns out this is more of a reference guide for young girls. Had I known that going in (my fault, should have read the description more carefully), this would have been a 5 star book. It details all of the steps a young girl or even a young adult would take to resist! While I wish that it was a bit more, it's a great starting place for young women looking to make a difference.
