Oh my, I loved this book!!

I loved the writing style which brought the story completely to life for me and I was immersed in the story right from the first chapter! The characters worked so well with the plot and the character development and their interaction was spot on. The pace was great and I was gripped right through to the end – I was completely hooked!!

No hesitation in giving this one five stars – another excellent story from Shalini Boland and one that I am recommending very, very highly – it is a superb story!

Shalini Boland is a crazy awesome & talented author of true psychological thrillers! Her stories always have an element of … “omg this can actually happen to anyone” which always adds to the creepy factor! Her characters are real and seem like people anyone would know.
In this story, young Anna has a summer fling with a boy, Finn, whom every young girl would kill to have! Her summer fling turns into a year round relationship! Only, her parents have plans for her to attend University and study abroad. Will Anna’s plans for her own life take a different turn? Thank God she had a best friend Sian to help her through hard times! Everyone needs a best friend right?
So what happened to Finn? Who is this Will character? Well it seems Anna has settled down and is living a happy life so when a very disturbing text message comes through on her phone during her husband’s birthday party, why does it seem like her life is about to take a huge downward turn?
Shalini Boland is a master storyteller who is expert at revealing plot twists at just the right pace which makes the reader turn pages furiously! At the same time, you won’t want the story to end either! I love books like that! We love Shalini Boland books and “The Millionaire’s Wife” is no different. She is awesome!

Aaaah I so love a great psychological thriller and The Millionaire’s Wife is no exception. When the pull of fresh book you haven’t read finally sinks in there is no other feeling but of contentment, a deep thrill and the warmth of irrevocably bizarre characters, enveloping your very mind.

The Millionaire’s Wife by Shalini Boland a plotline surrounding a deranged ex who is determined to undermine everything Anna Blackwell has accomplished. Anna is happily to Will a millionaire and is truly in love but an email from an unknown sender contains a shocking picture which plunges Anna back into the past. Anna finally discovers who has sent it and now her secrets from her past are threatening to unravel and destroy everything she holds dear.

Can Anna tell all before her ex boyfriend takes everything from her, time is not on her side, delaying the inevitable could cost her a great deal of heartache.

Could you ever fall in love with a fictional character, if there was ever a situation this would be it Will, holy moly what a loving, caring, generous man, who has nothing but good intentions at heart. Hope my hubby’s not reading this think he may wonder if I’ve seriously lost the plot, even so when you read about Will I dare you not to think the same.

On the other hand Anna’s ex Fin is to coin a phrase a sandwich short of a picnic basket, that may be terrible terminology but its so hard to describe someone who has delusions of grandeur. Fin is significantly adverse to hard work and his only aim is to gain riches as quickly as possible and by any means, even if that involves a pact he concocted while young and living with Anna, which he believes Anna wholly accepted.

Anna is a different kettle of fish, not someone you would have thought of marrying this down to earth guy, as in her younger years she seemed to be drawn to the bad boys. Now her quiet, uneventful life is going to explode around her and will she lose the man she has fallen madly in love with.

Okay I hope that helps build a picture which you can relate to and will give you the push to go buy Shalini Boland’s The Millionaire’s wife. I’ve read a few of Shalini’s books and she certainly knows how to weave a twisted plot, seemingly innocuous, but that’s the danger Shalini portrays with each word written.

Thanks go to Bookouture, Shalini Boland and Kim Holten for an advanced readers copy of The Millionaire’s Wife in exchange for an honest review and my unbiased opinion.

Happy publication day, Shalini Boland and 'The Millionaire's Wife'. Big thank you to Bookouture for being the book fairy godmother and granting my wish so that I could read the book in time for publication day!

I'm not too sure whether I'm becoming pickier regarding the books I now read, or whether I need to regroup where psychological thrillers are concerned, because I seem to be sitting on the fence for a lot of them to begin with. Now, seeing as it takes a little while for my mind to conjure up an opinion of the storyline, I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing when I do find myself lagging behind on the fence, waiting for the pace to pick up. 'The Millionaire's Wife' was no exception as, to begin with, I was rather unsure on what I was reading. However, after a couple of chapters of too-ing and fro-ing with my opinion, all of a sudden the storyline catapulted into grit and my eyes were glued to the page.

Anna Blackwell is holding on to multiple skeletons in her closet, whilst trying to move on with her life with her husband Will. As far as she is concerned, the past is gone and is no longer a threat to Anna's new life. Unfortunately for Anna, her past is certainly not forgotten and, with one small detail brought to Anna's attention, that fact was cemented straight away. Should she tell Will what is going on? Or should she wait to see whether the past goes through with the threat?

Oh my gosh! I am so glad that I continued to read 'The Millionaire's Wife' as it just kept on delivering shock after shock every time I turned the page. One moment life was all rosy for Anna and Will, the next moment their lives are hanging by a thread. Literally. When the truth came out and Anna was made aware of just who was involved in certain events, it sent multiple shivers up my spine. It just goes to show that sometimes people really can be wolves in sheep clothing.

The energy felt throughout this book was like a lightening bolt. I couldn't keep up with the shocks the author was intent on delivering, nor could I keep up on the attacks that were flying in Anna's direction.

What started off, in my opinion, as a slow burning read, ending up being an absolute firecracker of a book which gripped me from head to toe. Never mind this book being about a millionaire's wife, I feel like a millionaire just by being able to read it!

Wow, I have heard such good things about Shalini Boland and I can say after reading this I’ve found out for myself her books definitely live up to the hype!

You ever start reading a book, then think to yourself just one more chapter, suddenly it’s one o’clock in the morning and you just desperately want to find out what happening at the end so you keep reading? Yep, this is one of those books.

Anna is an incredibly sweet, if naive character, she feels like she has the perfect life but she’s been keeping secrets that threaten everything she holds dear. The book charts her relationship with her ex Fin who is the hot bad boy at her school, that every girl wants, who she can’t believe picks her but their teenage love soon turns sour. He comes up with a crackpot scheme to make them rich, showing just how unhinged he really is. Fast forward ten years later and she’d happily married to the lovely Will then Fin comes crashing back into her life.

To me this book was a tense, action packed, heart pounding read with jaw dropping revelations that I couldn’t put down. Did I see some the twist coming yes, and the ending may have been a little unbelievable but this is such a great book I could forgive those minor details.

Overall an entertaining read that will have you gripped from beginning to end.

I love Shalini Boland’s books and this one didn’t disappoint! I got into them when they were recommended to me by a lovely lady called Gail Shaw (who is a huge fan!) and I have to say thank you to her for introducing me to this fabulous author. The Millionaire’s Wife was originally self published but has now been republished by Bookouture.

I was hooked by the plot and by character of Anna from the very beginning when we first meet her celebrating with her husband at his birthday party. Anna and Will live an enviable lifestyle with gifts to each other that others can only dream about. But what is their connection to the terrible death of the woman in the prologue? When Anna is sent a picture and threatening message, it looks like her past might be about to catch up with her. Is she next?

Wow! What a brilliant and involving thriller this was! I absolutely love it when there are multiple shocks coming at me whilst reading and The Millionaire’s Wife had some fabulous twists that were not only unexpected but also they just kept on coming! I never really knew where the story was heading or who to trust and therefore I flew through it desperate to find out the truth. This is a very easy to pick up but impossible to put down book that manages to make your surroundings completely disappear as you become entranced by its shocking narrative. The flashbacks to Anna’s time in school worked well in developing her character and, even though her naivety frustrated me at times, it was easy to see why she was that way when given more background information about her early life.

If you’re a fan of Shalini Boland or of gripping psychological thrillers, then this book is a must read for you. I thoroughly enjoyed it’s fast paced, stylish delivery and jaw dropping reveals. And I can’t wait to read her next book, The Silent Sister, which is out in July and available to preorder now!!

4.25 Who Can You Trust? Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.25

Shalini Boland has become an autobuy/request author for me... her writing style flows so well and has such a crisp and clean feeling to it (not even sure if that makes sense, but it does in my head)... this book was originally self published and now is being brought to you by Bookouture.... I had a busy reading weekend and this book made it so easy... after I picked it up I did not want to put it down... I needed to find out what was going on?

Anna appears to have it all... a beautiful home... a loving husband... the problem? Anna has a secret or four... Anna was a super likable character, although she did a lot of really stupid things... there were times in this book I wanted to reach through those pages and knock some sense into her... thankfully she had some people around her with a little more common sense... there were secondary characters in this book that surprised me, but I can’t say much more than that.... in a book filled with so many twists and turns I can’t tell you how I felt about the other characters... because you need to go into this without knowing who you can trust...

Moral of the story.... secrets only lead to lies and more secrets... if Anna had been honest, we would have never had this book....😉

“A lie can travel halfway around the world, while the truth is putting its shoes on.”

As a complete sidenote there is a part in this book that has made me even more confused about the English school system, so different from America... I have no idea what an A level is, and they appear to take fewer classes?

Strongly recommend to all fans of this author and the psychological thriller genre...

*** thank you so much too Bookouture and Net Galley for a copy of this fabulous book ***

In perfect Shalini Boland style, another amazing thriller has been written for all to enjoy! Get ready to edge closer to the tip of your seat, bite the very last bit of nails you have left, and scream a not so silent scream when this story unravels! Shalini Boland hasn't quickly risen to the top of our list of favorites. Her books never disappoint! We love this one in particular because it begins with an innocent young story of love at first sight. Rooting for Anna and Finn is something you will feel excited to do but as the story goes on you may change your mind! We LOVED this book! 5 stars!!

I fell in love with Shalini’s writing when I read The Girl from the Sea in 2016. My experience with her books has since been the same. I have enjoyed each one of them and this one was no different.

The Millionaire’s Wife by Shalini Boland begins with a chilling prologue. A woman is killed while on holiday with her husband. Murder or accident, it was hard to immediately guess. I was curious about the incident and its connection to Anna who was miles away.

Anna is the main narrator of this story. Her present narrations detail strange events happening around her. There were so many tense moments especially when it became clear that something bad was about to happen to her. The narration set in the past was just as compelling. What I loved most about these two narrations is the fact that it took time for me to guess the connection between the past and present. I was eagerly turning pages with all kinds of ideas running through my mind. However, the connection turned out to be quite a surprise.

The Millionaire’s Wife by Shalini Boland is a fast-paced, captivating, suspenseful psychological thriller. I couldn’t predict most of the twists. There was a lot of action especially towards the final chapters. However, everything was very well executed. Secrets, lies and some really good twists made this quite a page-turner. Shalini’s writing as usual is amazing. Her endings remain unrivaled. Definitely recommended to all fans of this genre.

Well I am completely and utterly speechless, I'm going to attempt to review this book but I'm pretty sure I won't do it justice as there are just no words to explain how amazing and gripping this book is.

Oh wow, absolutely triple wow. This was a truly magnificent read, loved it from start to finish.

Shalini has such a way with words that she just draws you in right from the beginning, keeps you enthralled throughout and leaves you with bated breath right to the very end. Which is exactly what she did with this amazing book.

I was completely captivated by the story and the characters, all of which was so very well written. I loved the connection between Anna and Will, and the adorable Bo, loved him to bits.

Come the very end of the book, I was starting to relax, thinking all is going to end well and I can now relax, but then there is that ending, which literally just shot my nerves to pieces, that last chapter literally had me on tender hooks to the point that I thought I was going to fall off my chair. It was so darn good.

So if you are looking for a book that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat in eager anticipation as to what will happen next then and be completely captivated throughout, then you really need to read this book.

This is my fourth book by Shalini Boland, and I know it won't be my last. Her style is so easy to read and all her books have held my attention from start to finish. The Millionaire's Wife is, I believe, Boland's first book which she self-published and now that it is being re-issued by Bookouture, I was offered a chance to read it by the publisher, for which I am very grateful. The story centers around a woman, Anna, and jumps back and forth between the past and present, revealing two important romantic relationships in her life. I don't want to give anything away, because there are quite a few twists in this book, but something happens in her past that catches up to her in the present, even though she had hoped it was over. This draws her into a rather frightening situation, which quickly seems to spiral out of her control.
A little aside - having just reached the point after the big reveal when the real action was set to begin when my kindle froze and I panicked that I wouldn't immediately get to find out what would happen next. I have not been a frequent reader of ebooks until a few months ago, so this was quite jarring. Fortunately, the problem was fixed and I could continue. This did make me think (as I always have) what a dependable treasure actual, physical books are!
As with Boland's other books, The Millionaire's Wife is fast paced and clever, even if certain points strained my credulity. I didn't really care if there were a few issues in terms of logic, it was just pure entertainment. I did feel a little irritated with Anna sometimes, because I wanted to shake some sense into her and couldn't really understand why she was making certain choices, but she was a fairly likable character and I did feel for her. Also, I guessed one of the major twists quite early on, though it wasn't confirmed until I was near the end, so it didn't take away much in the way of reading pleasure for me. All in all, I found this book to be engaging and satisfying from beginning to end.
If you are looking for a gripping summer read and are a fan of this author or writers like Claire Mackintosh, Angela Marsons or K.L. Slater, I feel certain you will enjoy this book as well. I already look forward to reading her next book!

Anna has it all. She's married to a millionaire who she is very much in love with and life is good. That is until her ex makes a reappearance threatening to take everything away from her.

The story flicks between present day and to the past at different stages of Anna meeting Fin and their relationship together. I really enjoyed getting to see why Anna was so worried and what sort of man Fin was. Certainly not a very nice one, that's for sure.

I loved Will. Obviously the fact he is rich is just an added bonus but I found myself wishing I could swap places with Anna. It's obvious how much he loves his wife also and I was praying that whatever Fin was going to try and do to this couple that they would come through it okay.

This is only the second book I have read by the author but she is steadily becoming one of my favourites. This is another read that as soon as I picked up, I didn't put it down until I came to those two words, The End. She has a way of drawing you in and not letting you go.

The Millionaire's Wife is a nail biting, edge of your seat read. I couldn't sit still as I was dying to see how everything was going to end. I loved how the author throws some unexpected surprises in just to keep you on your toes whilst thrilling and exciting you to the max. What can I say apart from that I loved it. Psychological thriller fans, you have got to read this book!
